  • This research aims to strengthen the ethical decision-making capability of nursing students, and involves 82 fourth-year undergraduate nursing students in a nonequivalent control group pre-post quasi experimental research design from March 4 to June 3, 2013. Experimental group took a discussion-based class and control group took a traditional lecture-based class and we identified the differences in ethical knowledge, class satisfaction and ethical values between the two groups. Experimental group had higher scores for ethical knowledge after the class. There was no significant change in ethical values after the class in the two groups. The experimental group achieved significantly higher scores for the comprehension of class contents and practical application within the class satisfaction criteria. So we propose to use this model as an effect teaching method to apply ethical principles in nursing practice.

  • The aim of this study was to develop and apply a nursing process simulation scenario for cerebral infarction patients using HPS for nursing students. The effects of this simulation were evaluated and compared with the effects of traditional teaching methods. This study was conducted on 3rd grade students at the College of Nursing from December 7 to December 26, 2018. This study examined 38 subjects in the experimental group and 39 in the control group. This research went through the analysis phase, design phase, and development phase for the development and application of the scenario. The confidence, knowledge, and performance before and after the intervention in the experimental and control groups were analyzed using a t-test. This study developed a simulation scenario based on a nursing process for cerebral infarct patients and was designed to infer three nursing diagnoses. Both groups showed significant pre-post scores except for the clinical performance. The experimental group had higher post-score scores and greater difference between the post-test and pre-test. This study is meaningful in that a standardized scenario of nursing process of infarct patients was developed. In addition, the developed scenario shows the possibility of developing teaching and learning methods that can integrate theoretical learning and practice.

The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, X2-test, and independent t-test using SPSS/WIN 21.0. As a result, self-directed learning ability(t=6.50, p<.001), academic self-efficacy(t=2.01, p=.046), and academic achievement(t=4.98, p<.001) were higher in the experimental group than in the control group. As the positive effect of peer learning on nursing students was confirmed through the results of this study, it can be used as useful basic data when designing extracurricular activities for nursing education.

Methods: Data were collected from October to November 2022 using Qualtrix, a web-based survey platform. A total of 863 participants completed an online survey. Quantitative data were analyzed using 𝑥2 test and logistic regression analysis. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. Results: The factors affecting participants' unmet healthcare service utilization were type of residential area and underlying disease. The qualitative analysis identified; four categories and nine sub-categories. Conclusion: Based on these findings, it is necessary to develop a disaster nursing response model according to the type of residential areas and the number of people.

  • Purpose: This study is a non-equilibrium control-like experimental study that attempts to develop a nursing intervention plan and to present basic data by grasping the effect of the heating therapy nursing intervention program on patients entering the recovery room after surgery. Method: The subjects of the study were 31 in an experimental group and 31 in a control group who applied one heating therapy program located in D city. The warming therapy was conducted in a recovery room in the range of 38 to 43℃ through a heater. The general characteristics of the subjects were determined by real number and percentage, and a homogeneity test between the experimental group and the control group was determined by 𝑥2-test and independent t-test. The difference in body temperature, pain, and tremor over time between the two groups was determined by repeated measure ANOVA. Results: First, the results of repeated measurements immediately after surgery showed significant differences in body temperature, pain, and tremor between the two groups. Second, temperature comfort showed a significant difference. Conclusion: The results confirmed that there was a positive effect on the patient in the intervention of warming therapy after surgery.

  • This study examined the effects of nursing information provision using a booklet on the patients' anxiety and uncertainty with an endoscopic submucosal dissection before the procedure, which is a non-equivalent controlled pre-post test designed study. Twenty three patients in a control group received the existing intervention, which is the general education prior to the procedure without standardized format as well as an oral explanation, and 23 patients in the experimental group received nursing information with a booklet developed by the investigator of this study. The collected data were analyzed using a ${\chi}^2$ test and Fisher's exact t-test on SPSS 21.0. The experimental group reported significantly lower anxiety (t=3.319, p=.002) and anxiety behavioral responses (t=3.508, p=.001) than those in the control group. There were no significant differences in uncertainty between the groups (t=.745, p=.460). Nursing information using the booklet is a useful nursing intervention to reduce the anxiety of patients with endoscopic submucosal dissection before the procedure.
