Robust Interpolation Method for Adapting to Sparse Design in Nonparametric Regression (선형보간법에 의한 자료 희소성 해결방안의 문제와 대안)

  • Local linear regression estimator is the most widely used nonparametric regression estimator which has a number of advantages over the traditional kernel estimators. It is well known that local linear estimator can produce erratic result in sparse regions in the realization of the design and the interpolation method of Hall and Turlach (1997) is the very efficient way to resolve this problem. However, it has been never pointed out that Hall and Turlach's interpolation method is very sensitive to outliers. In this paper, we propose the robust version of the interpolation method for adapting to sparse design. The finite sample properties of the method is compared with Hall and Turlach's method by the simulation study.

A Study on Road Detection Based on MRF in SAR Image (SAR 영상에서 MRF 기반 도로 검출에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, an estimation method of hybrid feature was proposed to detect linear feature such as the road network from SAR(synthetics aperture radar) images that include speckle noise. First we considered the mean intensity ratio or the statistical properties of locality neighboring regions to detect linear feature of road. The responses of both methods are combined to detect the entire road network. The purpose of this paper is to extract the segments of road and to mutually connect them according to the identical intensity road from the locally detected fusing images. The algorithm proposed in this paper is to define MRF(markov random field) model of the priori knowledge on the roads and applied it to energy function of interacting density points, and to detect the road networks by optimizing the energy function.

  • We performed the experimental study on the control of suspended dust in a cement packaging process for various ventilation systems. To effectively remove the dust generated in the cement packaging process, three different kinds of ventilation system, such as local exhaust ventilation, electrostatic scrubber, and local air supply system, were adopted. Dust concentrations in the packaging process were measured with the variation of the airflow rate of the ventilation systems and then their ventilation performance were evaluated. From the results, we knew that the ventilation performance was the best when the local exhaust ventilation and the electrostatic scrubber were simultaneously operated in the packaging process. In the electrostatic scrubber system, the effect of the airflow rate on the indoor dust removal efficiency was negligible so hat he system ust be operated at $2,700m^3/h$ for saving power consumption.

Development of Animal Model for Orthotopic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer in Nude Rat (정위성 비소세포폐암의 동물 모델의 개발)

  • A major obstacles to evaluation of newly-developed treatment strategy for human lung cancer has been the lack of appropriate experimental animal models. We describe a new experimental model of orthotopically-developed non-small cell lung cancer in nude rat, involving inoculation of tumor cell suspension by thoracotomy. Over 40 direct implantation to the periphery of the lung has been performed to date, each requiring less than'1 hour for completion. This model has been used to perform a series of experiments to investigate whether the rat lung and surrounding structures trapped tumor cells with 2 different non-small cell lung cancer cell lines(NCI-H46O and NCI-H1299). Every animal showed development of tumor masses, which were loculated at the periphery of the lung karenchyma and identified also by radiography. After 3 weetu of the inoculation, tumor develop meat at the mediastinal strutures were identified. The life expectancies of the victims were different between the cell lines, but were approximately 5 weeks when NCI-H46O cell line was used. This new orthotopic lung cancer model may be facilitate future studies of the new therapeutics of localized non-small cell lung cancer .

  • 계면의 원자구조와 전자특성간의 상관성을 연구하기 위하여 GaAs-Ge(AlAs) 이종접합에서 전자의 국소상태밀도(LDOS)를 계산하였다. 본 연구에서는 tight-binding recursion 방법을 기초로 하여 계면의 국소상태밀도로부터 band-offsets, 계면형성에너지, 계면결합의 bond order 등을 연구하는 보다 편리한 방법을 제시하였다.

  • 셀룰라 오토마타 신경망은 저자에 의하여 개발된 신경망으로써 주변의 셀과 국소적인 연결을 가지며 셀룰라 오토마타의 발생규칙에 따라 생성되는 신경망이다. 셀룰라 오토마타 신경망을 간단히 줄여서 ECANS라고 한다. 본 신경망은 카오스 뉴런 모델을 사용하며 뉴런사이의 연결강도는 흥분성 또는 억제성 결합을 갖는다. 신호의 전달방식은 펄스의 형태로서 뉴런이 발화하면 '1' 발화하지 않으면 '0'이 된다. 본 논문에서는 셀룰라 오토마타를 구성하는 요소별 특징을 살펴보고 주어진 문제에 적합한 셀룰라 오토마타 신경망을 얻어내기 위한 진화방법으로서 DNA 코딩방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법의 유효성을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증한다.

Pulsatile Flow characteristics of Non-Newtonian fluid in the Stenosed Tubes (협착관내 비뉴턴유체의 맥유동특성)

  • 본 논문에서는 협착이 발생된 원관내 뉴턴유체와 비뉴턴유체의 정상 및 맥동유동특 서을 유한요소법으로 해석하였다. 본연구는 맥동유동특성에서 협착관 형상의 변화, 협착이 주기적으로 발생된 협착관에서 협착부사이의 거리와 협착부의 수가유동특성에 미치는 영향 을 검토하였다. 레이놀즈수가 일정할 때 협착이 발생된 원형관내 뉴턴유체와 비뉴턴유체의 맥동유동특성은 정상유동의 경우와 크게 다르게 나타난다. 맥동유동에서는 정상유동보다 관 중앙부에서 속도분포가 훨씬 평탄하고 맥동유동의 속도분포는 감속시에 비하여 가속시에 관 중앙부의 속도분포가 더 평탄하게 나타난다. 정상유동과 맥동유동으 감속시에서는 협착부 하류의 벽면에서 재순환영역이 발생된다. 협착부의 수가 증가하면 각 협착부 주위의 속도장 은 유사하게 나타나지만 전체 압력손실은 크게 증가한다. 협착부사이의 거리가 변화될 경우 맥동유동속도의 국소최대치와 국소최소치의 차이가 가속시에는 거의 없지만 감속시에는 협 착부사이의 거리에 따라 다르게 나타난다.

Plasticity Model for Directionality of Concrete Crack Damages (콘크리트 균열 손상의 방향성을 고려한 다중파괴기준 소성 모델)

  • The inherent characteristic of concrete tensile cracks, directional nonlocal crack damage, causes so-called rotating tensile crack damage and softening of compressive strength. In the present study, a plasticity model was developed to describe the behavior of reinforced concrete planar members In tension-compression. To describe the effect of directional nonlocal crack damage, the concept of microplane model was combined with the plasticity model. Unlike existing models, in the proposed model, softening of compressive strength as well as the tensile crack damage were defined by the directional nonlocal crack damage. Once a tensile cracking occurs, the microplanes of concrete are affected by the nonlocal crack damage. In the microplanes, microscopic tension and compression failure surfaces are calculated. By integrating the microscopic failure surfaces, the macroscopic failure surface is calculated. The proposed model was implemented to finite element analysis, and it was verified by comparisons with the results of existing shear panel tests.

Enhanced Detection Sensitivity of Surface Plasmon Resonance Biosensing Based on Colocalized Target Molecules and Evanescent Fields (생체분자와 필드의 동시국소화를 통한 플라스몬 센서의 감도향상 연구)

  • We have conducted a theoretical study to improve the detection limit of a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor by co-localizing plasmonic fields and target molecules of interest. The fields were localized by nanograting antennas, while target molecules that participate in a molecular interaction were assumed to be co-localized by angled evaporation of a dielectric mask layer on the nanograting antennas. We have performed the evaluation using an overlap integral between distributions of plasmon fields and molecules and confirmed the correlation of the overlap with the sensitivity of an SPR sensor. Based on the calculated sensor characteristics, it was found that the sensitivity, if the fields and molecules are co-localized, can be as much as ten times that of non-colocalized structure.

Characterization of Electrical Properties of Si Nanocrystals Embedded in a $SiO_2$ Layer by Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM (Scanning Probe Microscopy)을 이용한 $SiO_2$ layer에서의 실리콘 나노 크리스탈의 전기적 특성 분석)

  • 본 연구에서는 scanning probe microscopy(SPM)을 이용하여 국소영역에서 silicon nanocrystal(Si NC)의 전기적 특성을 분석하였다. Si NCs은 압축된 silicon powder를 laser로 분해하는 laser ablation 방식으로 제조되었고, sharpening oxidation 과정을 통하여 Si NC 주변에 oxide shell을 형성시켰다. 이 과정에서 Si NCs은 $10{\sim}50 nm$의 크기와 약 $10^{11}/cm^2$의 밀도로 $SiO_2$층에 증착되었다. SPM의 conducting tip을 통하여 전하는 각각의 Si NC로 주입되게 되고, 이로 인하여 발생하는 SCM image와 dC/dV curve의 변화를 통하여 Si NC에서 전하 거동을 모니터 하였다. 또한 국소영역에서 Si NC의 전기적 특성을 MOS capacitor 구조에서의 C-V 특성과 비교 분석하였다.
