  • Intangible cultural heritage is formless. It's of importance to preserve heritage in line with society drastically being transformed. It's passed down by human being. It is, on the other hand, impossible to preserve intangible cultural heritage solely based on memory, for it's changed in succession. Thus, it be archived to pass down. This study investigated on the state of affair related with Intangible cultural heritage documentations, examined the shortages thereupon. Furthermore, Training center should be in charge of documentation for a solution. This will provide an opportunity to overcome the limitations attributed to the top-down documentation system by central administrative organ, to open up the possibility of viewpoint of different successors, organizations. In addition to that, Intangible cultural heritage documents should be of different aspects of community history. Features of Intangible cultural heritages, which are convergent to the Regionality, tendency of variation, transmission, can be magnified when documentating. Finally, Training center is going to play a major role being vitalised. • The museum, run by the archives, should show historical facts about the president through objective records that are not fully evaluated. The wartime atmosphere should maintain solemnity to highlight the evidential value of records about history, but include an interesting element that allows visitors to come comfortably. It would be possible to accommodate 360 viewers at the same time, and it would be an option to limit the number of visitors considering the operation of weekend events and the donor honor hall. In this study, we established and presented an image integration plan centered on the color plan and the signature plan. Although the real image integration plan is a case study that starts with symbols and logos and is conducted through an integrated and systematic system through the basic design and application design system, it is considered to be a meaningful study in terms of practical use.

  • This study aims to propose a digital repository platform for academic department records in order to optimize the efficiency of collecting and utilizing academic department records in the absence of university archives and/or in circumstances of overlooking academic department records. First, the study conducted a survey on 70 staffs working in the departments of public and private universities as well as on 32 record managers in university archives about their awareness of and the situations related to academic department record management. Second, it designed the database and interface of a digital repository platform that registers and preserves academic department records effectively, and that proposes 26 essential metadata for managing academic department records. Third, this study built an academic department record repository named "Department Records Repository in the University (DRRU)" based on the OAK repository environment, with four core functions such as login, upload, search, and browse.

  • We found Urtica dioica L., an unrecorded alien plant, in the Han River basin of Korea. U. dioica is considered to be native to Europe, much of temperate Asia and western North Africa. This plant has been introduced to many other parts of the world. In Particularly, it reported as an invasive species from East Asia (Japan), Oceania and South America. This species is distinguished from related Korean taxa of the genus by its unisexual flower and dioecious plant species. In the Neighbor-Joining tree, U. dioica samples from the Han River Park (Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul) and Yangjaecheon Stream (Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul) clustered into a clade consisting of a U. dioica s.s. Here, we provide a precise description, illustrations, a key to the related taxa, and photographs of its habitat.

  • This study reviews the basics of earthquake preparedness from several archives and international cases of earthquake damage and restoration to establish an earthquake preparedness plan in Korean archives. The results of the study are as follows: first, to establish the direction of an earthquake preparedness plan, the study summarizes the basic characteristics of an earthquake and its damages, as well as applies the key elements of disaster preparedness planning after reviewing its basic principles. Second, the study analyzes four international cases that may have significant implications for the earthquake preparedness plan in Korea. Given this, four international cases present lessons and limitations such as the book dropping of a library in Japan, the collapse of archives in Germany, damaged archives because of a massive earthquake in New Zealand, and earthquake preparedness and recovery plans in cultural heritage sectors. Third, to apply the information from overseas cases to domestic, the study examines the lessons, the key elements of earthquake preparedness planning, and the public record standard for Korean archives through the mutual linking process, as well as issues that should be considered. The issues reviewed in this study could help Korean archives establish a realizable earthquake preparedness plan in the future.

  • Based on a single specimen (207.0 mm SL) collected from the southern coastal waters of Jejudo Island, morphological characteristics of Antennarius commerson were described as the first reliable record from Korea. The species is characterized by having a globose body covered with small bifurcated spinules, three dorsal spines including a naked illicium and attached pectoral lobe, 13 dorsal fin soft rays, 8 anal fin rays, and 11 pectoral fin rays. We adopted a tentative Korean name previously suggested, "Keun-ssin-being-i", for the species.

  • We isolated fungi from the rhizosphere of Fallopia sachalinensis in Dokdo islands. Morphological and molecular characters, based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS), and partial large subunit (LSU) or partial beta-tubulin genes, were used to identify the isolated fungi. The results revealed the fungi isolated from the Fallopia rhizosphere to be Penicillium striatisporum and Gongronella sichuanensis. Given that these species have never previously been recorded in Korea, we have described the morphological and molecular characteristics of these fungi in this study.

  • The work environment that produces and preserves records is changing in the digital transformation era, going beyond the new technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The electronic records management strategy in the archives must be prepared according to the technology, policy, and environmental changes related to overall records management of the era. Based on this, the basic environment in which the public can access records can be created by preserving the value of records. This study analyzes the direction of changes and strategies of records management in the digital environment and the direction of electronic records management strategies of the National Archives & Records Administration (NARA) in the United States, the National Archives of Australia (NAA), and the National Archives of Korea (NAK). Based on the analysis, the study suggests policies, facilities, and personnel elements as the core of the national electronic records management strategy and direction in the digital era.
