Hybrid Technology using 3D Printing and 5-axis Machining for Development of Prototype of the Eccentric Drive System (편심구동장치 시제품 개발을 위한 3D프린팅-5축가공 복합기술)

  • Since a 5-axis machine tool has two rotary axes, it offers numerous advantages, such as flexible accessibility, longer tool life, better surface finish, and more accuracy. Moreover, it can conduct whole machining by rotating the rotary feed axes while setting the fixture at once without re-fixing in contrast to conventional 3-axis machining. However, it is difficult to produce complicated products that have a hollow shape. In contrast, 3D printing can produce an object with a complicated hollow shape easily and rapidly. However, because of layer thickness and shrinkage, its surface finish and dimensional accuracy are not adequate. Therefore, this study proposes hybrid technology by integrating the advantages of these two manufacturing processes. 3D printing was used as the additive manufacturing rapidly in the whole body, and 5-axis machining was used as the subtractive manufacturing accurately in the joining and driving places. The reliability of the proposed technology was verified through a comparison with conventional technology in the aspects of processing time, surface roughness. and dimensional accuracy.

  • The objective of this study is to test and modify the gantry travel mechanism of an ALV(automated lifting vehicle) as a main technology of development of ALV. For the purpose of the improvement of container terminal productivity, this study performed to develop the ALV as a part of R&D. In order to verify the design data and detect the errors of detailed drawings, we performed the various limited weight test under load and unload conditions. Through the reflect of final drawing based on the this test, we could use to produce the more complete vehicle.

  • In this paper, the control algorithm of DC source device for inverter starting is proposed and the control method for compensating unbalance system source on operating time in the voltage type PWM converter with driving and regenerative faculty is suggested. The maintaining way of balancing condition for converter of AC source is used the compensating unbalanced status by current control loop. Because it is possible that the unbalanced System control is used to leakage transformer not equaled reactance by each phase in rectifier system, the proposed H/W and control algorithm of rectifier system is contributed to minimize of device and rising efficiency.

  • This paper studies battery charging methods using existing motor inductance and 3-phase inverters without an additional charger to charge the battery of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). As inverter switch control and motor coil used as the energy storage device for boosting make the system the boost converter, the additional charger is eliminated and volume, weight, and cost for the charger are reduced. Various charging methods according to topologies of the system and configurations of the controller are analyzed and verified by PSIM simulation.

  • PTFE 합성공정에서 대량으로 사용하는 고가의 음이온계 유화제를 분리/회수하는 것은 경제적인 문제 뿐만 아니라 환경적으로도 매우 중요하다. 음이온계 유화제의 회수에는 Water-evaporation, ion-exchange, freezing, electrodialysis등의 방법을 사용할 수 있다. 그러나 회수에 드는 경비가 높고 장치가 복잡하다는 단점이 잇다. 반\ulcorner에 막분리 공정은 장치가 간단하고 상대적으로 경비가 적게 든다는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 음이온계 유화제를 분리/회수하기 위해서 역삼투 공정을 사용하였다. 그러나 역삼투 공정과 같이 압력을 분리의 구동력으로 하는 막분리 공정에서는 농도분극 및 막오염 현상에 의한 투과량의 감소가 심각하게 일어나며 전체적으로 막분리 공정의 경제성을 떨어뜨리는 주된 요인이 된다. 특히 이온성 막을 사용할 경우 막과 이온성 용질간의 정전기적 포텐셜이 화학적 포텐셜과 함께 투과분리의 구동력을 이루게 되므로 투과거동이 매우 달라지게 된다. 본 연구에서는 막 재료의 이온특성과 음이온성 용질의 농도에 따른 막오염 현상의 관찰 및 이것이 투과거동에 미치는 영향을 관찰하였다. 이를 위해 Sodium alginate, Chitosan, Poly(vinyl alcohol)을 이용하여 각각 음이온성, 양이온성, 중성 막을 제조하여 투과거동을 관찰하였다.

  • The second shutdown drive mechanism (SSDM) that is classified into seismic category I as an active mechanical equipment shall maintain the structural integrity and its designed inherent safety functions during and/or after normal operation, anticipated operational occurrences, accidents and seismic occurrences. Therefore, not only a structural integrity assessment through numerical analyses but also a qualification test by using the prototype SSDM shall be conducted to verify the adequacy of the SSDM design. This paper describes a sort of seismic qualification test of the prototype SSDM to demonstrate that the structural integrity and operability (functionality) of SSDM are maintained during and/or after seismic excitations. From the results, this paper shows that the SSDM satisfies all design requirements without any malfunctions during and after the seismic test.

  • This paper deals with the design and modal characteristics analysis of a drive-train for a paralleltype hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). The function of the drive-train system (DTS) in the HEV combines or divides the torque and velocity from the internal combustion engine along with the induction motor. The system consists of a compound planetary gear and unit's electromagnetic clutch to provide the operation modes such as Engine Only (EO), Electric Vehicle (EV), and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) modes. In order to investigate the characteristics of the velocity and torque flow for the system, dynamic models of the HEV with DTS are derived from the prototype DTS. The performance of the derived dynamic models is evaluated by both computer simulations and experiments according to each mode.

Halbach Array Type Focusing Actuator for Small and Thin Optical Data Storage Device (할바 자석배열을 이용한 초소형 정보저장장치의 초점 구동기 설계)

  • The small form factor optical data storage devices are developing rapidly nowadays. Since it is designed for portable and compatibility with flash memory, its components such as disk, head, focusing actuator, and spindle motor should be assembled within 5 m thickness. The thickness of focusing actuator is within 2 mm and the total working range is $+/-100{\mu}m$, with the resolution of less than $1{\mu}m$. Since the thickness is limited tightly, it is hard to place the yoke that closes the magnetic circuit and hard to make strong flux density without yoke. Therefore, Halbach array is adopted to increase the magnetic flux of one side without yoke. The proposed Halbach array type focusing actuator has the advantage of thin actuation structure with sacrificing less flux density than conventional magnetic array. The optical head unit is moved on the swing arm type tracking actuator. Focusing coil is attached to swing arm, and Halbach magnet array is positioned at the bottom of deck along the tracking line, and focusing actuator exerts force by the Fleming's left hand rule. The working range and resolution of focusing actuator are analyzed with FEM and experiment.

  • This paper provides a fin actuation system of missile based on electromagnetic-spring mechanism to miniaturize the system and lower the cost. Compared with proportional electro-mechanical actuators, the output of Electromagnetic-Spring Actuators(EMSA) has two or three discrete states, but the mechanical configuration of EMSA is simple since it does not need power trains like gears. The simple mechanism of EMSA makes it easy to build small size, low cost, and relatively high torque actuators. However, fast response time is required to improve the dynamic performance and accuracy of missiles since bang-off-bang operation of EMSA affects the flight performance of missile. In this paper the development of EMSA including parameter optimization and mathematical modeling is described. The simulation results using Simulink and experimental test results of prototype EMSAs are presented.

해양플렌트를 위한 4륜구동 청소 로봇 시스템 개발

  • 따개비(barnacle)는 선저부에 붙어서 번식하며 딱딱한 석회질 껍데기로 덮여있다. 이로 인하여 선박의 속도를 저하시키고 도료기능을 상실시키는 주요인이 된다. 이를 제거하기 위해 작업자가 직접 액체를 분사하고 브러쉬로 세척해야 한다는 불편함과 위험에 노출되기 때문에 선박작업용 로봇이나 기계들이 많이 개발되고 있다. 현재 연구 중이거나 개발이 완료된 것 중에는 영구자석 또는 전자석 휠을 사용하거나 공압을 이용하여 수직벽면에서 작업을 한다. 특히 공압 방식을 많이 사용하였는데 수직벽면에 로봇이 밀착될 만큼 강한 공압이 필요하게 되기 때문에 부가적인 장치가 많이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 부가적인 장치를 최소화하고 효과적인 동작을 하기위해 전자석 방식을 선택 하였으며 간편하게 선박의 수직벽면을 작업할 수 있는 전자석 방식의 4륜 로봇을 개발하고자 한다. 선박의 수직벽면 작업용 4륜구동 로봇을 전자석을 이용하여 수직벽면에 부착할 수 있도록 설계하였으며 자력의 세기와 방향을 제어하여 로봇이 선박의 수직면에 밀착되어 자유롭게 이동이 가능하도록 개발 하고자 한다.
