This paper describes the results of a cost-effectiveness analysis on the usage of foreign scientific and technical journals. In this study, the measure of cost-effectiveness chosen is the Cost Per Use(CPU) of a journal article. The photocopy usage data and annual subscription costs of journals subscribed by Korea Institute of Science & Technology Information were used. The results of this study illustrate that distribution of subscription cost and photocopy usage, Cost Per Use(CPU) of each journal, CPU of each subject field, etc. 80 percent of the demand for the journal was met by 40 percent of total subscription cost. A relationship was found between subscription cost and photocopy usage, however, no relationship was found between subscription cost and CPU.

The journal is a important resource of the scholarly communication and it is a kind of the R&D indicator. But the journal subscription cost is rising annually so it has the limits to the journal subscription fee of libraries. This paper analyses the usage of Document Delivery Service(DDS) according to the journal subscription overlapping with NDSL members. In order to select journals for analysis, this paper selects journals of the subscription overlapping top 20% and low 20% and finds out the relationship between the overlapping subscription and usages of DDS.

Many publishers tried flipping, or extensively changed their journals flipped. They considered that converting an established journal into OA journal is more attractive than launching an entirely new OA journal. After conducting a careful literature review, this study provided the background and current situations on flipping. There are flipped OA journals alive published by commercial publisher, society, university, and institute in the field of science and medicine. This study found the increased number of published articles after flipping, with 69% of 97 flipped OA journals in 2015 having impact factors. Also 92% of the journals experienced rising in ranking of impart factor, or achieved it for the first time. It was suggested that the roles of academic society, funding agencies, and universities when it comes to active flipping.

The purposes of this study are to compare and analyze the evaluation indicators for selection of journal suggested by scholars and organizations and to prepare theoretical background for the ideal model to meet opposing paradigms of collection management in academic libraries. A web survey method was employed to investigate applications of various selection criteria (27 for printed and 37 for electronic academic Journal) from the top 40 academic libraries in Korea. In addition, data were analysed statistically using factor analysis, t-test, Analysis of Variance(ANOVA), and Spearman's Rank Oder Correlation. The mean ranking for 9 evaluation indicators for printed were as follows: subscribing volumes per departments, degree of use, selection authority, electronic/print bundle, ISI impact factor, Internationality and reputation, costs for subscription, ILL ＆ DDS, space considerations for printed materials. But, 11 evaluation indicators for electronic were as follows : costs for subscription, accessibility, electronic/print bundle, consortia, selection authority, access expandability, subscribing volumes per departments, scholarly features of the university, ISI impact factor, ILL ＆ DDS, internationality and reputations.

The objective of this study lies in researching what kind of literature is mainly used by researchers in the related field by analyzing the research pattern of researchers who major in the same field of science. and to propose a list of literature that is indispensable for college libraries to prepare. Based on such analysis results of cited literature. this study is to propose necessary standards for selecting and reading journals in the field of Library and Information Science(LIS) in the libraries of Korean colleges where a LIS department is established.

Most university libraries in Korea have expanded the subscription of high-quality electronic resources in their amount and category, which are directly available to academic and research users via the web. Despite more than a decade's history, however, a lack of statistics made it difficult to get the overall pictures of electronic resources subscription status in Korea. The purpose of this study is to provide the analysis on nationwide statistics survey of how much money are spent on electronic resources, what kinds of subject resources are mainly subscribed, and how they are used and required by academic users, etc. Some comparisons are made with several factors that have effect on collection development of university libraries. This study will contribute to the future selection and subscription of electronic resources.

점진적 빅데이터 학습 기반의 전자저널 구독가치 큐레이션 서비스는 대용량의 학술정보 처리환경을 하드웨어 기반에서 소프트웨어 기반으로 데이터를 학습함에 있어 학습 소요시간 및 메모리 부족 문제 등을 해결하기 위해 널리 사용하는 자질축소 기법에 의존하지 않고 대량의 데이터를 자유롭게 학습하고 증분 데이터 변경요소만을 추가 반영할 수 있는 범용적이고 일반적인 분류기의 구조설계 방법이다. 학술정보의 논문요약과 참고문헌의 데이터 수집 정제 분류 저장 분석을 통해 활용할 수 있는 지표를 생성하여 도서관 학교 공공기관 연구기관 등에 제공하여 기관에서 구독하고 있는 학술지가 연구에 얼마나 활용되고 있는지를 판단하는 정보 가용성을 활용한 양질의 정보원을 확보하여 불필요한 저널 구독을 중단하고 연구자가 요구하는 품질 좋은 학술정보를 제공할 수 있는 서비스로 일반적인 학술문헌 이용도 평가방법과 달리 구독 가치에 대한 지표를 제공하는 큐레이팅 방법이다.

This study aims to lead the new discussion by looking at variables affecting the number of subscription channels and subscription satisfaction in the absence of academic discussion of users' YouTube subscriptions. To this end, we conducted an online survey and analyzed the factors affecting the number of subscription channels and subscription satisfaction of YouTube users. We conducted hierarchical regression to examine their subscription motivation with exploratory factor analysis and to examine the impact of subscription motivations and the intentionality of Youtubers and the usefulness of YouTube knowledge on the number of subscription channels and subscription satisfaction. The analysis results are as follows: First, YouTube's usage and convenience motivation have had a static impact on the number of subscription channels. Second, factors affecting subscription satisfaction have been shown to be convenience subscription motivation, communication with Youtubers motivation, and perceived usefulness of YouTube. The practical significance of this work is that it can be beneficial to platform and channel operators in the changing new media environment. Furthermore, it aims to expand the interaction research extensions between YouTuber and users in the new media environment.

전자저널의 컨텐츠는 출판사의 서버에 디지털파일로 축적되어있으므로 출판사의 사정에 따라 또는 자관의 구독취소 결정에 따라 접속이 중단되는 사태가 발생할 경우 종전의 전자저널 구독분까지 이용할 수 없어 결과적으로 장서가 소실되는 결과를 가져오게 된다. 일부 출판사에서는 과월호 컨텐츠를 수록한 CD를 제공하여 이를 보완하고는 있으나 소장매체의 수명이 한시적일 뿐더러 출판사에서 계속해서 상당한 비용이 소요되는 과월호 컨텐츠 보존을 수행할 지 또한 의문이다. 이 연구는 선진 외국의 사례를 바탕으로 전자저널 컨텐츠의 영구보존에 관한 국내 도서관의 적절한 대처방안을 모색하고자 하였다.

The purpose of this study is to select factors that its impact on subscription of the package type e-journal in Korea. In order to accomplish this study, factors to select the package-type electronic journal are discussed through preceded research literatures, and presented the factors for subscription of the package-type electronic journal based on KESLI materials. As a result, ten evaluation categories and thirty-four evaluation factors are selected as e-journal evaluation elements.
