Convergence effect on oral Health Awareness of Oral Health Education and oral Health Knowledge of Early Childhood Education (유아교육학과 학생의 구강보건교육과 구강보건지식이 구강보건인식에 융합적으로 미치는 영향)

  • This Convergence study aimed to analyze the oral health education, oral health awareness and oral health knowledge of early childhood education' students. Questionnaire survey on the of five universities early childhood education' 314 students in Daegu and Gyeongbuk provinces. Average score of oral health awareness was 3.62, which was high female students, 3rd grade, athlete, high case on oral health condition perception and childhood oral health education experience. Oral health knowledge correct answer of 15 items was average 9.63, which was higher female students, 3rd grade, nonsmokers, have received childhood oral health education, responded to the need for childhood oral health education. Regression analysis showed that Y (oral health awareness) = 2.350 + 0.242 (exercise) +0.387 (oral health education) +0.134 (childhood oral health education experience) +0.067 (oral health knowledge). In order to promote infants oral health of department of Early Childhood Education, it would be necessary to develop the systematic programs to perform the childhood oral health education.

Subjective Oral Health Behaviors and Recognition of Childcare Teacher With and Without Oral Health Education (보육교사의 구강보건교육경험유무에 따른 구강보건행태 및 인지도)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the Influence of the experience of Childcare Teacher about oral health education on oral health behaviors. For this, Questionnairs to be self-filled up about experience of oral health education were carried out to 267 childcare teachers who are working in nurseries in Geongnam province. The date was analysed using the SPSS 12.0 program. The obtained result were as follows. Among the respondents who are not under stress of oral health. 8.1% respondents had the oral health education and 7.7% others didn't have it. For toothbrushing methods, it was found that 25.3% used manual toothbrushing with experience in dental education(up and down toothbrushing monement) and 35.4% used semi automatic toothbrushing(rotational movement). 37.1% respondents had experiences in oral health education, 69.7% respondents were instructed in the oral health at public health center, and 61.6% respondents were instructed in the oral health a theory(toothbrushing guidance). Among the respondents who answered that oral health education should be necessary, 83.4% of those have already had oral health education where as 73.8% respondents have not had the education. 67.7% of the respondents who want to participate in the oral health education is corresponding to those with experience in dental education, 66.1% respondents with no education feel the necessity of the oral health education.

Diagnostic Analysis on Oral Health Education of Primary School's Health Teacher (초등학교 보건교사의 구강보건교육 진단)

  • Objectives : The systematic health education to form the basic healthy lifestyle should be realized from elementary school, so oral health education at elementary school can determine the whole lifetime oral health. The elementary school health teacher's recognition and behavior who in charge of health promotion of students is important. Therefore, the study was conducted to enhance oral health education. Methods : Total 114 people among of 131 from health teacher Gwangju elementary school. Survey system is configured by referring to PRECEDE model. Results : In behavioral diagnosis the proportion of oral Health Education is less than 10%(58.8%), mostly educated in activity time (86.0%), the health teachers educate when it is needed(53.5%). In predisposing diagnosis in the eight areas of health education, the oral health education is ranked as fourth, fifth. Even in the next year project, the oral health education ratio was 21.9 percent. In enabling diagnosing every year the Oral health education training experienced rate is 13.2%, satisfaction rate is 33.3%. In reinforcing diagnosing disability element in the regular education course are the lack of oral health-related information (46.7%), lack of materials needed for education (30.6%), lack of training opportunities (21.4%). Conclusion : In further research, oral health education textbooks, materials and methods should be developed. At the foundation of there developments, the elementary oral health education program should be more fully developed and conducted and also the evaluation of its effectiveness will need.

The Convergence effects of oral health education of kindergarteners (유치원 아동들의 구강보건교육 융합 효과)

  • To study the effects of oral health education on children, weekly education sessions and surveys were held for 214 preschoolers, 6-7 years of age, in 2 K-area kindergartens for 4 weeks in July 2015. Statistics on oral health behaviors such as children with regular dental checkups(p<0.05), children who underwent fluoride application(p<0.05), children without dental caries diagnosis(p<0.001), children with mothers who underwent oral health education(p<0.05) showed significant difference. Oral health knowledge scores(6 being perfect) increased from pre-education scores of 4.96 to post-education score of 5.54. oral health behavior scores(11 being perfect) also increased from pre-education scores of 7.18 to post-education score of 7.75(p<0.001). Therefore, it is the author's opinion that the development of oral health education programs with relatively short cycles, alongside systematic, practical, and repeated education would be beneficial.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of repetitive oral health education on oral health knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of elementary school students. A final analysis of 111 untested individuals was made. The oral health knowledge and oral health behavior scores according to the presence or absence of oral health education showed a higher level than the school that did not perform oral health education for 3 years (p <0.01). Repeated and continuous oral health education of elementary school students has a great influence on oral health knowledge and behavioral change, so if the dental hygienists can stay and manage oral health care, the effect will be increased.

The Research on Oral Health Behavior and Oral Health Education according to Gender of Health and Non-health Related College Students in Some Areas of Busan (부산 일부지역 보건계열과 비보건계열 대학생의 성별에 따른 구강보건행태와 구강보건교육에 대한 견해)

  • This study conducted a survey to find out the opinions on oral health behavior and oral health education according to gender in health and non-health college students. According to the research results, there were many girls in the health-realted field and boys in the non-health-related college students. Among the oral health behaviors, brushing in school was common in both boys and girls in the health-related college students, and professional oral health education experiences were also found in the health-related college students. The need for oral health education among male students was 76.4% for healh-related college students, 48.3% for non-health-related college students, whereas female health-related college students showed 80.3%, and non-health -related college students were 60.4%. Participation in oral health education in order of male health-related students, male non-health-related students, female health-related students, and female non-health-related students were 81.9%, 68.1%, 84.8% and 73.3% respectively. The preferred method of oral health education was experiential education such as brushing for both male and female in the health-related college students, and lectures by dentists or dental hygienist were the highest reponse for non-health-related college students. The preferred location for oral health education was highest in schools. Through the results of this study, it was considered necessary to develop and disseminate appropriate oral health education programs according to college students' majors and gender, and to form correct oral health knowledge, attitudes and behaviors for oral health through oral health education.

Oral Health Awareness and Management of Day Care Teachers in Accordance with Oral Health Education Experience (일부 어린이집 교사들의 구강보건교육 경험에 따른 구강보건인식 및 관리)

  • This study was to evaluate the effect on the oral health awareness and oral health education for children, depending on oral health education experience of day care teachers. The survey considering integrated factors was conducted from January 5 to 23, 2015, and was analyzed by SPSS 19. The result of this study, 58.9% of teachers had an experience with oral health education and training for children had 62.3% of them. The education for children was accomplishing once with 42.9%. 49.8% of the teachers said that they teach and supervise tooth brushing(p<0.05). They are aware of the importance of deciduous teeth's health and necessity of maintenance(p<0.01), sealant(p<0.01), the necessity of tooth brushing and education(p<0.01). As a result, it is essential to build up a systematic and continuable program on oral health education for the day care teachers.

Effects of Oral Health Education for Occupational Health Nurses (산업간호사를 대상으로 한 구강보건교육의 효과 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of oral health education for occupational health nurses. The subjects were 300 occupational health nurses which participated in continuing education of Korean Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Oral health education contents consisted of basic knowledge about oral health, prevention of periodontal disease, oral health care for workers, and oral health program for workers. In order to evaluate the effects of oral health education, we performed questionnaire surveys before and after the education regarding their perceived oral health status and concern for oral health, knowledge about prevention of periodontal disease, attitude about oral health promotion, and needs for implementation of oral health promotion program. The data were analyzed by paired t-test to compare the change of knowledge and attitude according to the education. Linear regression analysis was carried out to assess the factors related to the improvement of their knowledge and attitude. The findings indicated that oral health knowledge and attitude of occupational health nurses were significantly improved by oral health education. A factor of the improvement of knowledge and attitude was concern for oral health. And they would like to be provided primarily oral health education for occupational health nurses. Finally, this study suggested that oral health education for occupational health nurses had significantly effects on improving oral health knowledge and attitude.

  • 정보통신 기술 발달과 세계에서 가장 빠른 네트워크 통신망을 자랑하는 우리나라에서 스마트폰 사용의 인구는 점점 증가하고 있으며, 사용 연령은 점점 낮아지고 있다. 스마트폰은 전화기의 통신 수단을 뛰어 넘어 교육에서도 많은 활용을 하고 있다. 국내 외적으로 구강보건교육 관련 자료 및 정보는 유투브나 블로그 등 무궁무진한 정보의 홍수에 있다. 여기서 정확하고 고등학생 대상이 직접 행동으로 할 수 있는 구강보건교육을 스마트폰 활용 을 통해서 전달하고자 한다. 그러기 위해 고등학교 여학생을 대상으로 구강보건 관련된 경험을 통해 구강보건교육 실행 계획을 실행하고자 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 스마트폰을 활용한 구강보건교육을 제시하고자 한다.

Effect of Oral Health Education Practice and Self-efficacy of Teacher on Oral Health Attitude (교사의 구강보건교육 실천과 자기효능감이 구강보건교육 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of oral health education practice and schoolteacher's self-efficacy on oral health attitude. The data of 217 dental hygienists was subjected to path analysis using AMOS 16.0. Oral health knowledge, attitude, self-efficacy and oral health education practice of schoolteacher were measurement variables of three path models. The goodness of fitness of Knowledge-Attitude-Practice model and Knowledge-Attitude-Self efficacy -Practice model were acceptable. The regression weights of two models were statistically significant. Oral health education practice of schoolteacher gave impact on oral health attitude by mediation of self-efficacy of schoolteacher. Self-efficacy of schoolteacher was a important determinant of oral health education practice. Oral health attitude and practice were supposed to be mutual determinants of health behavior models.
