A Smart Phone based Family Network Service System using LBS (LBS를 이용한 스마트 폰 기반의 패밀리 네트워크 서비스 시스템)

  • As the mobile industry has developed, people have become to pursue more delicate information exchange and close relationships between individuals through it. According to such a request, Social Networking Services have been activated based on short messages. Moreover, in combination with smart phones, the needs for adding location information is recently increasing more and more. Security and Privacy problems, however, are raised because such location information is so sensitive and may be used maliciously by someone else. Especially, storing location information of family members in a public server may become a negative factor to hinder people from utilizing such services. Therefore, this paper proposes a location based SNS service using smart phones for home community that runs on a home server in a house so that relationships between family members at home may be closer and improved through utilizing the service.

psXML: A New XML-based Standard Protocol for Service-oriented, Open Architecture of Consumer Portal (psXML: 서비스 중심적 개방형 아키텍처를 가지는 수용가포털을 위한 XML 기반의 표준화)

  • RConsumer Portal is defined as "a combination of hardware and software that enables two-way communication between energy service providers(ESP, like KEPCO) and equipment within the consumer's premises". The portal provides both a physical link(between wires, radio waves, and other media) and a logical link(translating among language-like codes and etiquette-like protocols) between in-building and wide-area access networks. Thus, the consumer portal is an important, open public shared infrastructure in the future vision of energy services. This paper presents an XML based standard specification of service-oriented, open protocol for consumer portal system architecture. In the framework level, the XML protocol provides a useful bridge between services and platforms. The proposed standard protocol has been implemented into our developing consumer portal pilot system. The results imply the potential of global standards for consumer portal system by its minimum overhead in network and processor. The reposed XML is designated psXML in this paper.

  • Recently, semantic web technology, represented by ontology building, is being combined with web services technology, creating 'Semantic Web Services' as a new promising field in information retrieval research. Accordingly, many brokering and matchmaking agents are being developed and used in the field. However, literature review revealed that most models do not take QoS(Quality of Services) into consideration. In this study, a QoS-augmented matchmaking algorithm is developed based on service availability, response time, maximum transaction amount, reliability, accessibility and price as critical QoS items. A prototype for Intelligent Semantic Web Services System is developed using publicly available data. Performance test was conducted and reported at the end.

  • Recently, the convergence of the telecommunications industry through the development of network media has brought along interactive data services in addition to the traditional broadcast services by providing direct connections between the users and the broadcasters. This can be easily achieved by the combination of existing network technology and multimedia technology, but in reality, as seen in the actual implementation of IPVT, it's difficult to provide satisfactory levels of service to users due to issues of network bandwidth and problems of streaming system. In particular, a network which is able to fully support Qos/QoE, and also a fast enough channel changing technology that is satisfactory to the user, are prerequisites for IPTV success. Therefore this thesis proposes a fast channel changing technique to delivery enhanced IPTV user experience. Recent IP set-top-boxes use only a small portion of the CPU to feed Ethernet packets to the hardware decoder and play them. Thus, by making IP set-top-boxes share cached channel information and content with each other, reducing the load on the server and enhancing the channel changing time is made possible.

Separation of Chromium(III) and Chromium(VI) by Carboxymethylated Polyamine-Polyurea Resin Column (카르복시메틸화된 폴리아민-폴리우레아 수지관에 의한 3가와 6가 크롬의 분리)

  • Acetic acid and succinic acid bonded polyamine-polyurea(CPPI and SAPPI) resins were synthesized from the reaction of polyethylenimine-polymethylenepolyphenylene isocyanate(PPI) resin as matrix polymer and chloroacetic acid and chlorosuccinic acid respectively. These resins were confirmed with infrared spectrometry and elemental analysis. The adsorption characteristics of the chromium(III) and dichromate(or chromate) ions on the resins were studied by measuring distribution coefficients($K_d$) with changing pH of the solution. It was thought that these ions were adsorbed by ion exchange mechanism. Chromium(III) and dichromate ion could be separated with stepwise elution method by changing pH of the eluent using SAPPI resin packed column($0.6cm(i.\;d.){\times}10cm(L.)$). Also, dichromate ion could be preconecntrated with CPPI resin column by a concentration factor of 50.

  • Silicate used as laundry detergent builder was good for pH buffering capacity and solubility but calcium-ion binding capacity and surfactant adsorption ability were lower. As $SiO_2/Na_2O$ molar ratio became higher, pH buffering capacity and ion exchange ability were lower and surfactant adsorption ability was little higher. Anionic surfactant LAS (linear alkylbenzene sulphonate), nonionic surfactant LA-9 (lauryl alcohol EO-9) were used to investigate the detergency performance. Zeolite was better than sodium silicate in detergency performance. In case of LAS, detergency performance was good when $SiO_2/Na_2O$ molar ratio was lower. In case of LA-9, detergency performance was similar without discrimination of molar ratio of $SiO_2/Na_2O$.

  • In order to provide a proper mobile internet service, Mobile IP is necessary to support IP mobility. Service network should be a backbone network among mobile agents which support mobility, and MPLS(Multi-protocol Label Switching) of IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force) is being considered as a backbone network because of its speed, scalability and the excellent service capability. MPLS, however, doesn't provide a way to support the mobility of the nodes. In this paper, we present an efficient IMT-2000 network architecture using MPLS to handle Mobile IP. The proposed architecture combines the MPLS label distribution and Mobile IP registration. It doesn't use the layer 3 encapsulation, instead it uses layer 2 for tunneling the data, reduces the size of the header, and it can tunnel the data without delay, which is needed to look up the mobility binding list, as a result.

The interactive data service technology has developed a network which is able to fully support QoS and also a fast enough channel changing technology that is satisfactory to the user, are prerequisites for IPTV success, to provide satisfactory levels of service to exist users. However the current server-client system can't support all increasing needs of users. To overcome these limitations, P2P based IPTV service is currently under researched. Therefore, this thesis proposes a logical view based copy-ahead technique for P2P IPTV to improve the performance of IPTV system.

  • Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) has been widely used in bioconjugation as it is an efficient and facile method to prepare polymers with pre-designed structures. Quite often, bioconjugation with proteins employs primary amines in proteins as a functional group to attach an initiator. When 2-bromoisobutryl bromide, the most widely used precursor for ATRP initiator, is used, ${\alpha}-halo$ amide initiating groups are formed in the proteins, which are known to exhibit slow initiation behavior in the ATRP process. Here we studied the ATRP of [poly(ethylene glycol)methyl ether] methacrylate (PEGMA) using amide-based initiator. PEGMA differs for both the nature and size of the polymer side branches and shows good solubility in water and a property that made it an ideal candidate for biomaterials. While normal ATRP produced ill-defined p(PEGMA) with amide based initiators, the halogen exchange method and the external additional of deactivator effectively improved the control of ATRP of PEGMA.

  • Strontium selective chromatographic material $(Sr-Spec^{TM})$ was investigated for separation of radiostrontium from environmental soil and water sample. This chromatographic material has great capacity of binding of strontium ion in nitric acid media, and has selectivity to permit the separation of stontium from bulk amount of calcium. But the extraction of strontium was reduced by the other interfering ions such as K and Ba. So, in order to apply this material to the soil sample, prior removal treatment of K and Ba was needed. But the Sr-Spec material could provides simple and effective methods for the separation and removal of radiostrontium from liquid sample.
