Study of Effectiveness of Signal Preemption Strategy Depending on Train Speed at Intersections Near Highway-Railroad Grade Crossings (철도건널목 인근 신호교차로에서의 우선신호 전략 비교분석(열차속도를 중심으로))

  • Because the prime objective of the current preemption methods at signalized intersections near highway-railroad grade crossings(IHRGCs) is to clear the crossing, secondary objectives such as safe pedestrian crossing time and minimized delay often are given less consideration or are ignored completely during the preemption. Under certain circumstances state-of-the-practice traffic signal preemption strategies may cause serious pedestrian safety and efficiency problems at IHRGCs. An improved transition preemption strategy(ITPS) that is specifically designed to improve intersection performance while maintaining or improving the current level of safety was developed by Cho and Rilett. Even if the new transition preemption strategy improved both the safety and efficiency of IHRGCs, the performance of the strategy is affected by train speed. Understanding the impact of this factor is essential in order to implement ITPS. In this paper, the effects of train speed were analyzed using a VISSIM simulation model which was calibrated to field conditions. It was concluded that the delay is affected more by train speed than the transitional preemption strategy and the safety of the intersection is not affected by train speed once an advanced preemption warning time(APWT) is equal to or greater than 90 seconds.

Effects of Road and Traffic Characteristics on Roadside Air Pollution (도로환경요인이 도로변 대기오염에 미치는 영향분석)

  • While air pollutants emission caused by the traffic is one of the major sources, few researches have done. This study investigated the extent to which traffic and road related characteristics such as traffic volumes, speeds and road weather data including wind speed, temperature and humidity, as well as the road geometry affect the air pollutant emission. We collected the real time air pollutant emission data from Seoul automatic stations and real time traffic volume counts as well as the road geometry. The regression air pollutant emission models were estimated. The results show followings. First, the more traffic volume increase, the more pollutant emission increase. The more vehicle speed increase, the more measurement quantity of pollutant decrease. Secondly, as the wind speed, temperature, and humidity increase, the amount of air pollutant is likely to decrease. Thirdly, the figure of intersections affects air pollutant emission. To verify the estimated models, we compared the estimates of the air pollutant emission with the real emission data. The result show the estimated results of Chunggae 4 station has the most reliable data compared with the others. This study is differentiated in the way the model used the real time air pollutant emission data and real time traffic data as well as the road geometry to explain the effects of the traffic and road characteristics on air quality.

Variability of Seawater Temperature in the Coastal Waters off the Dangjin Power Plant, Asan Bay, Korea (서해 아산만 당진화력발전소 인근해역 수온 변동 특성)

  • This study focused on variability of the sea water temperatures observed off the Dangjin Power Plant in the central west coast of Korea for the period of 1998-1999. Spatial averaged temperature shows the annual range of $20.3^{\circ}C$, with minimum of $3.3^{\circ}C$ in February and maximum of $23.6^{\circ}C$ in August. Horizontal distribution patterns are seasonally reversing: The temperatures are increasing toward inshore of the period of April to October, while they are increasing toward of offshore for the rest of year. Spectral analyses of temperature records show significant peaks at M2 and S2 tidal periods, since the water movement in the study area is influenced by strong tide. The responses of temperature variations to tidal phase show different seasonal characteristics: The temperatures are increasing at flood phases in winter and ebb phases in summer. Amplitudes of the components at M2 and S2 periods are $0.8^{\circ}C\;and\;0.5^{\circ}C$, accounting for 70-80% of daily variation. Coherency analyses between non-tidal components of temperature and wind speed show that in summer, northerly wind components significantly coherent with temperature at 2.8 days period, while in winter, southerly wind component is coherent with 2.4 days period, with 0.6 and 0.7 day phase-lags, respectively.

Production of Monoclonal Antibodies against Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Development of High Sensitive Immuno-Selective Filtration Method (Vibrio parahaemolyticus에 대한 단클론성 항체 개발과 고감도 면역선택여과법의 개발)

  • The objectives of this study are to produce monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against Vibrio parahaemolyticus and to develop an immuno-selective filtration (ISF) method for the rapid and sensitive detection of V. parahaemolyticus. The characterization of the MAb produced from HKVP 4H9-9 hybridoma cell was validated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and western blot. The produced MAb was specific to V. parahaemolyticus and showed weak cross-reaction to V. alginolyticus, V. vulnificus and Staphylococcus aureus. After optimization of the method, $5{\times}10^1cell/mL$ of V. parahaemolyticus in a pure culture could be detectable. Although weak cross-reactivity to V. vulnificus, V. alginolyticus and Staphylococcus aureus was observed, the ISF was confirmed to be highly specific to V. parahaemolyticus. Especially, the ISF showed the most sensitivity compared to the immunoassays currently reported is easier to perform and quicker than ID-ELISA.

Determination of 3D Object Coordinates from Overlapping Omni-directional Images Acquired by a Mobile Mapping System (모바일매핑시스템으로 취득한 중첩 전방위 영상으로부터 3차원 객체좌표의 결정)

  • This research aims to develop a method to determine the 3D coordinates of an object point from overlapping omni-directional images acquired by a ground mobile mapping system and assess their accuracies. In the proposed method, we first define an individual coordinate system on each sensor and the object space and determine the geometric relationships between the systems. Based on these systems and their relationships, we derive a straight line of the corresponding object point candidates for a point of an omni-directional image, and determine the 3D coordinates of the object point by intersecting a pair of straight lines derived from a pair of matched points. We have compared the object coordinates determined through the proposed method with those measured by GPS and a total station for the accuracy assessment and analysis. According to the experimental results, with the appropriate length of baseline and mutual positions between cameras and objects, we can determine the relative coordinates of the object point with the accuracy of several centimeters. The accuracy of the absolute coordinates is ranged from several centimeters to 1 m due to systematic errors. In the future, we plan to improve the accuracy of absolute coordinates by determining more precisely the relationship between the camera and GPS/INS coordinates and performing the calibration of the omni-directional camera

The SBAG assemblage in the Dueumri Formation mear the Chunyang granite : Algebraic analysis (춘양 화강암체 주변 두음리층에 산출하는 십자석-흑운모-홍주석-석류석 광물조합: 대수학적 분석)

  • Staurolite-biotite-andalusite-garnet (SBAG) assemblage and its sub-assemblages (SBA and SBG) commonly occur in the Dueumri Formation near the Chunyang granite, belonging to andalusite and sillimanite zones. The occurrence of the SBAG mineral assemblage is unusual because it is univariant in the $K_2O-FeO-MgO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2-H_2O$ (KFMASH) model system. We used projection and singular value decomposition (SVD) methods to investigate the equilibrium relationship between SBAG and its sub-assemblage. The SVD modelling of single specimen containing the SBAG assemblage suggests no reaction relationship with respect to mass-balance. Thus, the SBAG assemblages are stabilized by non-KFMASH component. On the other hand, the AFM-Mn projection suggests a reaction relationship between SBAG and its sub-assemblage because they intersect each other in this composition space. The SVD modelling, however, suggests no reaction relationship between these assemblages. Thus, the SBAG assemblages are likely to be stabilized by the variation in bulk-rock composition and/or 1.1~2,. The stable occurrence of staurolite in the sillimanite zone is compatible with pressure estimates from the garnet-plagioclase-biotite-muscovite geobarometer.

A Study on the Location Selection of Distribution Center on the KyongBu Expressway Axis (경부고속철도축을 중심으로 한 물류단지 입지설정에 관한 연구)

  • 사회전반에 걸친 물류단지의 필요성에 대한 인식은 날로 높아지고 있으나, 물류단지의 입지를 정작 어느 곳으로 할 것인가에 대한 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 물류단지의 입지를 결정하는 여러 요인들 중 일반적으로 계량화 작업이 많이 이루어진 수송비와 ,대규모 개발 사업시 가장 먼저 고려해야 하는 토지보상비를 결정하는 지가를 물류단지의 입지를 결정하는 입지비용이라 가정하고, 현재 화물수송이 가장 많이 이루어지고 있는 경부고속도로축을 중심으로 입지비용을 결정하는 지가와 소송비의 산출을 위한 근거를 제시하며, 이를 설명할 수 있는 지가와 수송비의 모형을 지가와 수송비의 산출을 위한 근거를 제시하며, 이를 설명할 수 있는 지가와 수송비의 모형을 개발하여, 이 모형을 토대로 물류단지의 규모와 서울도심에서의 거리의 변화에 따라 물류단지의 입지가 어떻게 변화하는 가를 밝혀, 물류단지의 최적입지를 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 논문의 결론을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 물동량의 증가에 따라 수송비가 증가하고, 물동량을 처리하기 위한 소요부지면적이 증가하면, 지가와 수송비의 교차구간은 도심에서약 15~20km 떨어진 구간에서 형성되고, 이 때의 최적입지는 물동량과 소요부지면적에 상관없이, 도심에서 약 60km 떨어진 안성군 및 평택시지역(경부고속도로 주변지역에 한함)이 최적입지로 분석되었다. 2) 수송비와 지가, 건설비와의 장래 20년을 기준으로 한 누적비용분석결과 0~40km 구간의 경우 수송비의 누적비용이 지가와 건설비의 누적비용을 초과하지 않으며, 수송비의 누적비용이 지가와 건설비의 누적비용을 초과하는 기간이 가장 빠른 것은 물류단지가 50~55km 구간과 60~65km 구간에 입지 하였을 경우로, 이 구간에서의 수송비 누적비용이 지가와 건설비의 누적비용을 초과하는 기간은 9년 후인 2004년으로 분석되었다. 이는 도심과 인접한 지역의 경우 물류단지가 입지하지 못하는 것은 물류단지의 건설에 따른 수송비의 절감이 물류단지 건설에 따른 지가 및 건설비에 대한 비용부담에 못 미치기 때문인 것으로 분석되었으며, 화물의 특성상 불가피하게 도심지역과 가까운 곳에 물류단지의 입지를 고려해야 할 경우, 물류단지 조성시 정부에서의 세금완화, 물류단지 조성가능지역 설정, 지가에 대한 보조 등 정책적인 지원대책이 필요할 것으로 판단된다. 3) 입지 비용중 수송비를 누적시킨 수송누적비용과 지가와의 비교분석결과 수송비를 5년, 10년 누적시켰을 때 이 물류단지의 최적입지는 도심에서 약 60km떨어진 곳으로 분석되었으며, 수송비를 20년 누적시켰을 경우 물류단지의 최적입지는 도심에서 약 50km떨어진 지점의 물류단지의 최적입지로 분석되었다.

  • The current traffic accident reduction procedure in economic feasibility study does not consider the characteristics of road and V/C ratio. For solving this problem, this paper suggests methods to be able to evaluate safety of each road in construction and improvement through developing accident Prediction model in reflecting V/C ratio Per road types and traffic characters. In this paper as primary process, model is made by tke object of urban roads. Most of all, factor effecting on accident relying on road types is selected. At this point, selecting criteria chooses data obtained from road planning procedure, traffic volume, existence or non-existence of median barrier, and the number of crossing point, of connecting road. and of traffic signals. As a result of analyzing between each factor and accident. all appear to have relatives at a significant level of statistics. In this research, models are classified as 4-categorized classes according to roads and V/C ratio and each of models draws accident predicting model through Poisson regression along with verifying real situation data. The results of verifying models come out relatively satisfactory estimation against real traffic data. In this paper, traffic accident prediction is possible caused by road's physical characters by developing accident predicting model per road types resulted in V/C ratio and this result is inferred to be used on predicting accident cost when road construction and improvement are performed. Because data using this paper are limited in only province of Jeollabuk-Do, this paper has a limitation of revealing standards of all regions (nation).

Fuzzy Logic Based Modeling of an Incident Detection Algorithm (퍼지이론을 이용한 유고감지 알고리즘)

  • 본 논문은 다이아몬드 인터체인지에서의 유고감지모형 개발을 위해 퍼지이론을 응용한 연구를 문서화 한 것이다. 지금까지의 교차로와 일반도로(고속도로가 아닌)에서의 유고감지에 관한 연구는 초기에 불과하다. 기존의 알고리즘들은 필요한 데이터 보존의 어 려움과 유고감지의 특성과 관련된 기술적 어려움을 효과적으로 극복하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 다이아몬드 인터체인지에서의 유고감지를 위한 새로운 모형을 개발하는데 있다. 이 연구를 통하여 개발된 유고감지 모형은 차량차단 유고(lane-blocking incidents) 를 감지하는데, 감지의 범위는 차량차단 유고의 경향이 교통 장황에 특정한 패턴을 형성 하고 그에 따른 신호제어전략의 조정이 요구될 때에 국한된다. 이 모형은 전통적인 통계 치를 이용한 유고감지감 고유의 문제를 해결하며, 보다 정확하고 신뢰성 있는 유고감지를 위해 다양한 교통변수를 이용하여 전체적인 유고의 경향을 포착한다. 또한 이 모형은 실 시간 교통대응 다이아몬드 인터체인지 신호제어 시스템 (real-time traffic adaptive diamond interchange control system)의 구성요소로써 사용되며, 그리고 더 큰 교차로 시스템에의 상용을 위하여 확장이 용역하도록 설계되었다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 프로 토타입(prototype) 유고감지 모형은 실제의 다이아몬드 인터체인지에 적용되어, 감지율, 오보율, 평감지시간의 세 달로써 성능이 평가되었다. 모형의 성능평가 결과는 무적이었으 며, 퍼지이론은 유고감지에 효과적인 접근방법임을 확인할 수 있었다.투자의 타당성을 실증적으로 보여 주고 있다.산정 절차 정립에 엇갈림 알고리즘을 활용하는 방안을 제시하였다.자함수를 추정한 뒤 이를 이용해 업종, 기업규모, 상품유형별로 적합한 모델(Fixed Effects Model)을 결정하고, 각각에 해당하는 통계모형을 구축하였다. 이 결과 (1) 업종 및 기업규모별로 그룹간에 유의한 특성이 발견되었으며, (2) R&D 및 광고투자는 기업의 시장성과를 설명하는 중요한 변수이나, (3) R&D 투자의 경우는 광고에 비해 불확실성이 존재하는 것으로 나타났고, (4) 수리모형에서 도출된 한계원리가 통계모형에서도 유효한 것으로 드러났다.등을 토대로 한 10대 산업을 육성하기 위하여 과학기술부는 기술수요조사를 바탕으로 49개 주요기술을 도출하여, 과학기술 일류 국가 실현, 국민소득 2만불 달성이라는 국가적 슬로건을 내걸고 “차세대 성장동력” 창출을 위한 범정부차원의 기획과 연구비의 집중투자를 추진하고 있다.달성하기 위해서는 종합류류 전산망의 시급한 구축과 함께 화물차의 적재율을 높이고 공차율을 낮출 수 있는 운송체계의 수립이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 그라나 이러한 화물전용차선의 효과는 단기적인 치유책일 수밖에 없기 때문에 물류유통 시설의 확충을 위한 사회간접자본의 구축을 서둘러 시행하여야 할 것이다.으로 처리한 Machine oil, Phenthoate EC 및 Trichlorfon WP는 비교적 약효가 낮았다.>$^{\circ}$E/$\leq$30$^{\circ}$NW 단열군이 연구지역 내에서 지하수 유동성이 가장 높은 단열군으로 추정된다. 이러한 사실은 3개 시추공을 대상으로 실시한

One-Stage Polymerase Chain Reaction for the Comprehensive Detection of Type D Retrovirus Provial DNA (Type D Retrovirus 감염의 포괄적 검색을 위한 One-Stage 중합효소 연쇄반응법의 개발)

  • To develop the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the detection of type D simian retrovirus (SRV) infection, an oligonucleotide primer pair was designed to hybridize to the sequences within env gene of SRV subtype 1 (SRV-1). The 3' proximal env sequences annealing to the primers had been rather conserved among three different subtypes of SRV, SRV-1, SRV-2, and SRV-3 (Mason-Pfizer Monkey Virus: MPMV). The PCR using the primer pair targeting an env region successfully detected and amplified all three subtypes of SRV with excellent specificity after single round of reaction. The tests with peripheral blood mononuclear cells infected either with simian immunodeficiency virus or simian T-Iymphotropic virus type 1, major immunosuppressive viral agents together with SRV in simian, verified the specificity of the PCR by excluding any cross reactivity. Semiquantitative titration PCR, amplifying serially diluted plasmid DNA of each subtype, was performed to evaluate sensitivity limits of the reaction. Based on molecular weight of each cloned SRV genome, the PCR should be able to detect one SRV-infected cell per more than $5-7{\times}10^4$ uninfected cells after simple ethidium bromide staining of resulting products. The PCR must be very efficient screening system with its quickness, certainty, and sensitivity for SRV-infected animals used in human AIDS research model. Second round amplification of the reaction products from the first PCR, or Southern hybridization by radiolabeled probes shall render to compete its efficacy to ELISA which has been the most sensitive technique to screen SRV infection but with frequent ambiguity problem.
