To examine the effectiveness of the class using gamification on academic self-efficacy and learning flow, a paired t-test for the pre-post test was conducted by analyzing the data of 65 students who faithfully answered both tests. Results of this study illustrated teaching profession class using gamification significantly improved the academic self-efficacy and its sub-factor, confidence of pre-service early childhood teachers, moreover, it also had a positive effect on learning flow and its sub-factor, cognitive learning flow of them. This study proved the effectiveness of the gamification-using class and provided subsequent studies for improving the quality of the gamification-using class.

  • The researcher's objective is to analyze a case study from the teaching profession course entitled "Instructional Methods and Educational Technology: IMET," in which the instructional method 'Music Technology-Based Learning: MTBL' has been implemented. In addition to the analysis and the completion of the associated 16-week coursework, the researcher conducted an open-ended survey, and conducted and analyzed in-depth interviews, with participants in the case study. Using MTBL in IMET has elicited mostly favorable responses from participants such as "interesting" and "fun." They also mentioned "active learning participation." There were also negative responses to MTBL, citing "the lack of interconnection between MTBL and other teaching profession courses," "the difficulty of hybrid and convergence classes," and "the need for additional time and attention in an individual study." The analysis of this case study indicates that the use of MTBL in teaching profession courses somewhat enhances the understanding of the general concept of integrating technology into education, although some difficulties remain. The analysis of more case studies is required in order to establish more effective training courses, in which learning is not limited to the theoretical aspects of education. Using MTBL as an integrated part of the educational method would help to foster more creative and professional teachers.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of teacher preparation programs with project-based learning for strengthening preservice special education teachers' practical teaching abilities. The results of this study showed that the practical teaching ability of preservice special education teachers (n = 39) improved by a total of 6.76 points after receiving action learning-based instruction. The improvement was 1.49 points for planning and designing, 1.49 points for communication, 0.49 points for interactions with students, 2.49 points for teaching and learning environment, and 0.89 points for sincerity and enthusiasm. The results of paired t-test showed that preservice special education teachers' practical teaching ability has significantly improved on the total scale score (p < 0.01). Preservice special education teachers' improvements were also significant on three out of five subscales: planning and designing, communication, and teaching and learning environment. Correlations between the practical teaching ability subscales ranged from 0.64 to 0.90, indicating a statistically significant correlation.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of flipped learning and explore the learners' experiences. Data were collected from 64 students who participated in flipped learning for 7 weeks at N university. The results were as follows. First, after applying flipped learning, learners feel more comfortable learning together and prefer collaborative learning. Second, flipped learning had no significant effects on learner's overall metacognition, but it had positive effects on the awareness and cognitive strategies. Third, flipped learning had no significant effects on academic self-efficacy, but it positively affected the task difficulty preference and confidence of learners who had a lower level of collaborative tendencies. Fourth, flipped learning had no significant effects on SDL ability, but it positively affected the learning plan of learners who had a higher level of collaborative tendencies. Fifth, learners' class satisfaction of flipped learning was generally very high. We suggested a policy, instructional design and strategies for effective implementation of flipped learning.

  • In this study, three health teachers assigned to J-do were analyzed through the FGI research method to find out the difficulties, resolution process, and implications of new health teachers in adapting to teaching during COVID-19. As a result of the study, first, there were difficulties in relationships with parents, especially in the course of numerous calls and daily school status reports in the course of handling infectious diseases. After getting used to the COVID-19 work to some extent, beginning health teachers were burdened with having to think about health room work alone, difficulties in health classes for various students, and the burden of showing expertise as the only medical personnel in emergency situations. Second, new health teachers continued to share and communicate related information through online health teacher groups and YouTube to solve the difficulties of teaching. Third, this teaching adaptation process suggests that specific training to provide practical help to new health teachers is needed at the education office level, and it is necessary to support infrastructure such as class contents related to health classes.

  • The purpose of this study was to conduct a course entitled 'Teaching practice' applying Problem Based Learning(hereafter PBL) for perspective Home Economics teachers to explore the applicability of PBL to the course. A course entitled 'Teaching practice' was carried out for 17 undergraduate students from the 2nd of March till 11th of June in 2014. Pre- and post-tests to measure teacher disposition were performed to investigate the effectiveness of the course applying PBL. Three questions for PBL were developed, were determined after obtaining verification of the questions from 5 experts, and were used for the course entitled 'Teaching practice'; Developing teaching-learning plan, establishing plan for homeroom class management, and designing assessment of Technology & Home Economics. The processes of PBL include defining the problem, planning problem solutions, reassessing the problem, identifying possible solutions, and performance presentation. Procedures for solving one problem of PBL took 4 weeks and teacher disposition assessment for effectiveness of PBL was carried out for pre- and post tests. The reflection journal showed that even though it was their first experience of PBL, instructor's feedback, group activities, and individual activities were helpful for solving the problems of PBL. The result of dependent t-test for paired samples revealed significant differences between the pre- and post tests, which means that there was effectiveness of the course applying to PBL on teacher disposition of prospective Home Economics teachers.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the current status and effects of online discussion classes in universities. To this end, a survey was conducted on university students attending a total of four universities in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province to diagnose their perceptions of the operation of online discussion classes and their effects. The collected data were analyzed using frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, cross-analysis, F-test, T-test, and Scheffe test by applying SPSS program. As a result of the study, first, it was found that 'non-real-time recorded lessons' and 'real-time interactive video lessons' were mainly conducted at universities after the COVID19 crisis. Second, in the online class method, 'real-time interactive video class' had a positive effect on 'debate class preference' and was found to be more meaningful. Third, college students recognized participation in online discussion classes as a foundation for expanding creative thinking skills, suggesting that strengthening through smooth communication and exchanges based on learners' sufficient cognitive processes on discussion methods and procedures is more helpful.

The researchers observed mathematics lessons of 6 novice elementary school teachers and interviewed on the difficulties that they experience in teaching mathematics. The data were collected by lesson observations, interviews, discussion and email communications and categorized the data the types of difficulties those the teachers experience. The difficulties were difference between theory and practice, explanation, questioning, differentiated lesson, application of teaching method, evaluation, and understanding of mathematics. The implication from this study is that novice teachers need to supported by the administration as well as actively participate at various types of educational meetings.
