In recent years, public bicycle systems are widely spread over the world according to the development of ICT technology. Since the public bicycle systems in large cities need to secure both publicity and convenience for citizens, analysis of various their issues from introduction to operation is required. In addition, it is also necessary to prepare for various scenarios for coexistence with the PM business, which is recently in the spotlight as a last mile means and normally managed privately. This paper introduces modeling and simulation for efficient operations of public bicycle systems. In particular, the proposed method was developed in a form that can be easily used in other cities by modeling the general structure and behavior of the public bicycle system, and it was developed to facilitate modification and expansion of the future model with a component-based model configuration. This paper provides a case study of the propose method, which is the public bicycle simulation in Sejong City. The simulation results were derived by applying the data from the public bicycle system of Sejong City, and they were verified with the associated real data of Sejong City. Using the verified model, it is expected that it can be used as a tool to design and analyze various services on the public bicycle systems, which were especially suitable for Sejong City.

Objectives: Nuclear security and atomic energy industry have always been the domain of political and economical diplomatic affairs. The issue of nuclear proliferation must be resolved politically or militarily given the importance of the problem, the impact it has on global security, the influence of major powers, and non-proliferation regimes. Considering scope of the budget, manpower, and scale of the project, the atomic energy issue was also viewed from an economic perspective. Therefore, the goal of this study is to depart from the conventional viewpoint and investigate if public diplomacy may be extended to a new issue domain of nuclear security and atomic energy. Methods: In order to determine whether there are any areas that overlap, the uniqueness of Korea's position in the nuclear security and atomic power domains is evaluated and compared with the traits of public diplomacy. Results: It seems plausible to broaden the scope and function of public diplomacy in that field given Korea's uniqueness in nuclear security and atomic energy issue and overlap with public diplomacy. This is especially true given that the state must take the leading role and that ongoing policy demands are made in light of Korea's security and economic structure. In reality, it is assessed that the Summer Fellows Program, run by the KAIST Nuclear Nonproliferation Education and Research Center (KAIST NEREC), has had a considerable impact on public diplomacy in the area of nuclear security and atomic energy. Conclusions: Nuclear security and atomic energy issues have traditionally been handled from the perspectives of political diplomacy, summit diplomacy, and economic diplomacy. However, this paper evaluate that the possibility of enhancing the role of public diplomacy in this issue area is high and underscore that the budget support, programs, and manpower for similar public diplomacy activities are needed. Through this, South Korea's nuclear security policy and atomic energy industry could be supported from international community and it will advance national interest.

Personal Information Protection Act was first enacted in March, 2011, amended in September, 2011 and became effective. Nevertheless, the risk of interfering with personal information protection still remains, associated with collection, plagiarism, leakage, and even sales of personal information. The public libraries are not an exception. Accordingly, this study investigates the status of personal information protection in public libraries of Seoul and Gyeonggi province. Also, it tries to discover problems associated with the act and presents a model scheme to improve this situation. The scheme relates to (1) securing of a sufficient budget; (2) reinforcing professional education related to personal information; (3) developing detailed guidelines for public libraries.

This study aims to propose measures to support students' English literacy development in collaboration with public libraries in the community. The literature review shows that students can improve their English literacy skills by not only reading authentic books, but also participating in English literacy programs at the public library. The analysis of the gathered data reveals that public libraries provide extensive programs customized to students' needs. It is also shown that reading programs at the public libraries play an important role in improving students' literacy skills. With the analysis of the literacy programs at various libraries nationwide or abroad, we can understand the importance of the English literacy programs. Especially English Literacy programs in public libraries can be more effective to improve students' English literacy skills. It is suggested that we need to support children's literacy development in collaboration with public libraries in the community.

Humanities is one of the largest buzzword in Korea. Humanities programs are being provided indiscriminately in public authorities, universities, life-long education institutions, cultural centers, the media, museums, libraries etc. Among them, the public library is the base camp for spreading and popularizing the humanities. Nevertheless, there is also a critical views for the humanities program of public library. The purpose of this study is to discuss the discourse of the humanities banquet in theoretical positions and practical aspects. The former discussed the humanities banquet in terms of academic axioms, global macro and micro discourse, social and economic wave, the spirit cultural evolution. The latter discussed the humanities banquet at the axiom and identity of the library and humanities, pitfalls and limitations in terms of reason, paradox and the dilemma on the linkage side, inconvenient truth at the destination aspect, weaknesses and challenges in the content aspect.

The Honam region has been recognized as one of the most lagging regions in Korea. Drawing upon some decompositions oi Gross Regional Domestic Product(GRDP) per head and labor productivity, the overall trend of inequalities in Korea has been revealed and the trajectory of the Honam region's economic change has been identified by examining how the region's economic performance changed relative to that of Korea in the 1990s. There are some findings. First of all, Korea is characterized by strong divergence in the development of its region economies, in terms o\ulcorner per capita GRDP, which relies upon productivity differentials rather than differences in employment rates. Second, the Honam region has displayed poor economic performances in terms of GRDP per head except for Jeonnam. Third, the dramatic fall in cumulative population growth relative to the national average has been an important factor in the Jeonnam's overwhelming economic performance measured by per capita GRDP. Fourth, the decline in the relative productivity of the Honam region is mostly explained by falling relative regional productivity growth in construction, transport and manufacturing, although it should be noted that the latter sector has made positive contribution to raising relative regional productivity of Jeonnam. Fifth, overall the shift in employment to service sector, especially to social, personal, public, health, education, other services other than distribution, hotels, catering has tended to support relative regional productivities, along with the positive contribution being made oi agriculture, forestry and fishing to relative regional productivity growth in the Honam region.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate current library cooperation system and to identify what fields should be cooperated with other libraries. A survey and group interviews are used for research method. The results show that only under 30% of respondents estimated the success of library cooperation system. The system needs to be changed. Online catalog and DB are evaluated as important fields, while the shared/cooperation acquisition is evaluated as less important field in current cooperation system. Also, education cooperation, the cooperation of education and culture programs, and advertisement cooperation are more necessary. The shared/cooperation acquisition is less necessary in library cooperation filed. The membership libraries of cooperation systems and library location are affected to responses as a factor. This study proposes two library cooperation systems: upload library cooperation system and download library cooperation system.

This paper analyses the codes of ethics of eight engineering societies in USA and Korea focusing on fundamental canons, and major findings are as follows. Firstly, engineering societies in Korea began to make a code of ethics recent1y. Secondly, codes of ethics in USA have similar contents by mutual learning contrary to Korean cases. Thirdly, some codes of ethics in Korea are very poor and their presence are not well perceived. Fourthly, codes of ethics in Korea don't cover comprehensively responsibility to the public, to employers or clients, and to the profession. Fifthly, engineering societies in USA hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public. Sixthly, new social issues including sustainable development are well discussed in the codes of ethics in USA.

최근 수년간 전산망을 통한 의료정보의 이용이 학술적인 데이터베이스의 이용에서부터 인터넷을 통한 정보의 교환까지 급속도로 증가하고 있는 상황이다. 보다 신속하고 정확하며 다양한 의료정보에 대한 욕구는 일반인들뿐만 아니라 환자와 의료진 모두에게 증대되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 갑상선 질환은 지속적인 치료를 필요로 할 분만 아니라 환자가 질환을 이해하고 자기 관리를 위한 과학적인 정보의 필요성이 절실한 분야이다. 또한, 갑상선 질환을 전공하는 의료진에게도 이에 관한 의료정보 제공의 필요성은 절실하다. 의료정보에 대한 데이터베이스 구축 작업은 궁극적으로 의료서비스의 질적 향상과 질병관리의 효율화를 통한 국가 자원 낭비의 방지효과를 목적으로 하는데, 갑상선 질환 환자의 진료 및 교육지원을 위한 공공 데이터베이스 개발은 이를 구현하는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 갑상선 환자의 진료 및 교육 지원을 위해, 기존의 갑상선 환자 진료 기록에 대한 데이터베이스의 구축과 이를 인터넷을 통해 서비스 해 줄 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 윈도우 NT 상에서 Access를 이용하여 데이터베이스를 구축하였고, 윈도우 CGI 방식에 기반한 CGI 프로그램을 개발하여 인터넷과 연동 하였다.

도서관은 사회적 변화와 요구에 따라 그 역할이 점점 확대되고 있으며, 특히 어린이도서관에서 실시하는 문화프로그램에 대한 관심 또한 높아지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 어린이도서관의 가치, 기능구현에 문화프로그램이 어떤 역할을 수행하고 있는지 살펴보기 위해 국립어린이청소년도서관과 서울특별시교육청 어린이도서관 웹 사이트를 조사하여 현재 실시하고 있는 문화프로그램의 현황을 주제별, 이용대상별로 내용 분석하였다. 분석 결과 어린이도서관은 독서교육과 문화적 매개공간의 기능을 하고 있으며 향후 공공도서관에서 문화프로그램을 기획하고 운영하는데 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
