Analysis of Elementary School Teachers' Efficacy on Mathematics Teaching (초등학교 교사들의 수학 교수 효능감 실태 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is for investing and analysing elementary teachers' efficacy on teaching mathematics. It was measured by Kang & Kim(2014)'s instrument; MTEI (Mathematics Teaching Efficacy Instrument). The survey was conducted on a sample of 183 participants. The findings of this study are that mathematics teaching efficacy of elementary school teachers in South Korea is 64 percent based on 100 percent. There was no significant difference between women teachers and men teachers. Teachers who have taught longer than 5 years and less than 10 years have the lowest mathematics teaching efficacy. Teachers who were major in Mathematics have higher mathematics teaching efficacy than non-major in Mathematics. In addition, chances of training about mathematics make their efficacy higher.

Influences of Dietary Education Activity on Education Satisfaction and Self-Respect (식생활 교육활동이 교육만족도와 자아존중감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated dietary education and education satisfaction from the perspectives of academic ability improvement, psychological-emotional development, and self-respect. For this reason, empirical analysis was performed on the relationship between dietary education activity, education satisfaction, and self-respect. The purpose of this study is to appreciate the importance of dietary education, to focus the attention of researchers on dietary education and to provide fundamental materials. The results drawn from analysis are as follows. Firstly, it was discovered that the degree of dietary education has positive relationships with both academic ability improvement, and psychological/emotional development. Secondly, self-respect has positive relationships with academic ability improvement, and psychological/emotional development in terms of education satisfaction. Thirdly, after analyzing the influences of dietary education activity on self-respect, it was indicated that self-respect has a positive relationship with dietary education activity. Therefore, continuous and consistent dietary education needs to be performed at home, as well as at school, at the national level to establish appropriate dietary knowledge to teenagers, rather than simply delivering knowledge. It is also suggested that the education that can form self-respect be required.

The Relationships between Preschool Teachers' Beliefs about the Purpose of Multicultural Education and Their Attitudes and Teaching Efficacy with Respect to Multicultural Education (유아교육기관 교사의 다문화교육 목표에 대한 관점, 다문화교육에 대한 태도와 다문화 교수효능감과의 관계)

  • This study aims to explore the relationships between preschool teachers' beliefs about the purpose of multicultural education and their attitudes and teaching efficacy with respect to multicultural education. For this purpose, 296 teachers, who were working at kindergartens and daycare centers, were chosen for this study and the survey method was used to collect data. The TMAS (Teacher Multicultural Attitude Survey), Multicultural Teaching Efficacy Scale, and teachers' belief about the purpose of multicultural education were used to evaluate teachers' multicultural-related variables. To analyze the data, frequency measurements, percentile, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient were used. Through this study, these findings were found: 1) Teachers most perceive human relations as the purpose of multicultural education. 2) There is no relationship between the belief in multicultural education and the attitudes and teaching efficacy with respect to multicultural education. However, The attitudes about multicultural curriculum show meaningful differences, depending on the teachers' beliefs about the purpose of multicultural education. 3) The attitudes and teaching efficacy with respect to multicultural education are strongly related to each other. These findings are discussed with respect to the necessity of multicultural education curriculum development for preschool teachers.

The self-efficacy beliefs of gifted students in the area of sciences and High Achievers -Focused on Elementary School- (과학분야 영재학생과 학업우수학생의 자기 효능감 -초등학교 학생을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the self-efficacy of gifted students in the area of sciences. For this purpose, The Self-efficacy Beliefs Inventory was administered to 220 5th and 6th gifted students and high achievers. The research findings were as follows; First, there was no statistically significant difference in the general, academic, self regulated learning, and others’ expectation self-efficacy beliefs between gifted students and high achievers as well as among groups of gifted students. Second, the gifted students in mathematics were higher than other groups in the mathematics self-efficacy beliefs. Third, the high achievers were higher than other groups in the language art self-efficacy beliefs. Fourth, the gifted students in mathematics were higher than other groups in mathematics self-efficacy beliefs. Fifth, the gifted students in science were higher than other groups in science self-efficacy beliefs. Sixth, the gifted students in IT were higher than other groups in computer self-efficacy beliefs. Seventh, the gifted students in IT were lower than other groups in social self-efficacy beliefs.

대학 창업교육이 진로에 미치는 효과성에 대한 연구

  • 4차산업혁명 시대에 대학교육은 창의적 인재육성을 위한 중요한 역할을 담당하게 되었다. 또한 청년실업율 상승과 일자리 창출을 위한 대책으로 청년창업으로 진로를 개척할 수 있도록 대학에서부터 창업을 보다 활성화 시키지위한 정책과 지원을 확대되기 시작하였다. 대학교육의 교과 비교과 교육커리큘럼 역시 시대적 요구에 맞춰 변화하고 있으며 창의성 역량을 강조하는 창업교육이 확산되고 있다. 대학의 창업교육을 통한 문제해결능력, 의사소통능력 등 창의성역량 함양과 도전정신을 강조하며 기업가정신을 함양하는 추세이다. 이는 작금의 시대가 요구하는 창의적 인재상과 일치하며 정부와 대학에서도 창업교육에 대한 중요성을 인식하였다. 하지만 창업교육에 대한 효과성을 검증함에 있어서 창업의지, 창업성과, 청년창업 등 창업에 관련된 단편적 측면으로 연구가 많이 되고 있다. 즉, 창업교육에 대한 다양한 효과성 측면에 관한 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 선행연구와 차별적으로 창업교육을 통하여 사회에 진출을 앞두고 있는 대학생의 진로준비와 선택에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해 실증분석을 통하여 검증하였다. 이를 위해 2016년 8월부터 지역 거점별 5개 대학교의 창업교육을 수강한 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사 실시하여 393개의 표본으로 실증분석에 활용하였다. 분석결과 창업교육을 통한 역량은 진로준비행동에 직접적인 영향은 없었다. 다만 창업교육의 협업적 의사소통능력과, 창의적 문제해결능력은 창업가정신과, 자기효능감을 통해 매개효과로 진로준비행동에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 또한 창업교육의 협업적의사소통능력, 창의적문제해결능력이 창업가정신과 자기효능감에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤고, 창업가정신과 자기효능감은 진로준비행동에 긍정의 영향을 미치는 실증적 연구 결과를 도출하였다. 본 연구의 시사점은 단순히 대학의 창업교육을 시키는 것이 중요한 것이 아니라 창업교육을 통하여 창업가정신과 자기효능감을 고취 함양시킴으로써 진로준비행동에 긍정의 영향을 미친다는 점과 창업가정신과 자기효능감이 중요한 요인이라는 시사점을 도출하였다. 또한 향후 대학 창업교육의 효과성에 대한 측정과 평가에서 창업과 같은 실무적 성과 접근뿐만 아니라 사회진출을 위한 진로 영역 등과 같이 다각도의 효과와 올바른 방향성에 대한 추가 연구가 필요하다.

Teacher's Perception towards Collective Teacher Efficacy and Barriers in the Integrative Education by Teaching Levels and Gifted Education Experiences (소속 학교급과 영재교육 경험에 따른 집단적 교수효능감 및 융합교육 장애요인에 대한 교사인식)

  • The study explored teacher's perception towards collective teacher efficacy and barriers in the integrative education by teaching levels and gifted education experiences. A total of 241 teachers answered the collective teacher efficacy scale and survey of teachers' perceptions towards barriers in the integrative education, which responses were analyzed by teaching levels (elementary/secondary level) and gifted education experiences (yes/no) in using the ANOVAs and Pearson correlation. Results indicated that there was no differences in collective teaching efficacy by teachers levels and gifted education experiences. On the other hands, there were significant differences in teacher's perceptions towards barriers in the integrative education by teaching levels and gifted education experiences. For these results, this study analyzed the possibile reasons, which based on the specific characteristics of educational fields and suggested the supportive ways in promoting for the successful application and settlement of the integrative education.

Korean Mathematics Teachers' Views on Education and Teacher Efficacy (우리나라 수학교사의 교육에 대한 인식과 교사효능감에 대한 조사 연구)

  • This study investigated mathematics teachers' views on education, teacher efficacy, and the relationship of teacher efficacy and Confucian Heritage Culture's views on education. In particular, the differences on the basis of teachers' teaching experience and academic level were examined. We identified teachers' views on education by investigating their views on the purpose of education and examining whether they support the perspectives of teaching and learning in Confucian Heritage Culture. The questionnaire was answered by a total of 572 elementary teachers and secondary mathematics teachers. The results of this survey revealed that mathematics teachers have both Confucian Heritage Culture's view and Western view on education and quiet strong teacher efficacy. The views on education differed by academic levels, but there were no differences in teaching experiences. The teacher efficacy was differed by both academic levels and teaching experiences. The correlation between teacher efficacy and Confucian Heritage Culture's view on education was low. Findings were discussed with regard to their implications for both Korean mathematics education and mathematics teachers' teaching practice.

The Effect of Learners' Perception on Parents Academic Involvement on Career Maturity in Elementary School Students: Focusing on the Mediating Effects of Academic Self-Efficacy and School Adjustment (초등학생들이 지각한 부모의 교육적 관여가 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향: 학업적 자기효능감과 학교생활적응의 매개효과)

  • This study examined the relationships between learners' perception on parents academic involvement, academic self-efficacy, school adjustment, and career maturity, and also to analyze the hypothetical structural equation model relating three independent variables to career maturity. The participants were 443 sixth grade children(218 boys and 225 girls). The findings are as follows. career maturity positively showed the highest correlations with learners' perception on parent academic involvement, and academic self-efficacy. The findings revealed that learners' perception on parent academic involvement indirectly influenced career maturity mediated by academic self-efficacy and school adjustment. Furthermore, school adjustment displayed the highest direct effect on career maturity, whereas learners' perception on parent academic involvement showed the highest indirect effect on career maturity. It was discussed to develop and mange career program, career education, and career counseling effectively for elementary school children.

대학 창업교육이 진로에 미치는 효과성에 대한 연구

  • 창업교육에서 강조하는 창의성 역량은 사회에 필요한 융합형 인재 육성을 위해 반드시 필요한 부분이다. 하지만 이제까지 창업교육에 대한 효과성을 검증함에 있어서 창업분야에 대한 단편적인 효과중심으로 연구되었고 진로에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 효과 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 선행연구와 차별적으로 대학의 창업교육을 통한 역량함양이 사회에 진출을 앞두고 있는 대학생의 진로준비와 행동에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해 실증분석 검증하였다. 2016년 8월부터 설문조사를 실시하였고 지역별 창업교육을 수강한 대학생 393개의 표본을 실증분석에 활용하였다. 분석결과 창업교육을 통해 함양된 협업적의사소통능력, 창의적문제해결능력은 기업가정신과 자기효능감에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤고, 기업가정신과 자기효능감은 진로준비행동에 정(+)의 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 기업가정신, 자기효능감의 매개효과 검증에서 협업적 의사소통능력, 창의적 문제해결능력과 진로준비행동 사이에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤지만 창업교육에 의한 창의성 역량들은 진로준비행동에는 직접적인 유의미한 영향이 없는 것으로 분석되었다. 이에 본 연구의 시사점은 대학의 창업교육의 효과 검증에서 창업교육의 양적인 확대보다는 기업가정신과 자기효능감을 고취 함양시킴으로써 진로준비행동에 긍정의 영향을 미친다는 시사점을 도출 할 수 있었다. 또한 대학 창업교육의 중요성 검증과 향후 다양한 효과에 대한 평가를 학생창업 영역 뿐만 아니라 다각도로 추가 연구가 필요하겠다.

A Study about the Effects of Education for the Elderly on their Psychological Well-Being (노인교육 참여가 노인의 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the effects of education for the elderly on their psychological well-being. Loneliness(negative state of emotion) and life satisfaction(positive state of emotion) were compared between participants and non-participants of educational programs for the elderly in order to learn whether participating educational programs influences their psychological well-being. The subjects of this research were 288(146 participants and 142 non participants) elderly who are 60 years and older, living in Seoul City and Gyeong Gi Do. They were selected by the judgmental sampling method and surveyed using structured questionnaire. Research instruments were consisted of the UCLA Loneliness Scale, Life Satisfaction Index-Z Scale(LSIZ) and several background questions. The result showed that the participants of the educational programs had a lower level of loneliness and a higher level of life satisfaction. The educational program for the elderly was effective for the psychological well-being of the aged. Multiple regression results showed that subjective health played the most important role in explaining the loneliness, followed by education level, elderly education participation, financial states. The results also showed that subjective health played the most important role in explaining the life satisfaction, followed by elderly education participation, religious activity participation, financial status. Implications for policy, practice, and further research were discussed.
