The OECD ITP project has looked at the black box of each participating countries' teacher education system. In the 2000s, various countries have tried to reform their professional development systems for teachers, including teacher education and induction, as an initial yet crucial step to improve the quality of education. Since 2015, OECD member countries have been conducting an international comparison study on teacher education and induction programs(i.e. ITP). The ITP project is an in-depth comparative study among the member countries that have expressed willingness to participate voluntarily. This paper introduces the progress of the ITP project and analyzed the national background report on the teacher education and induction system of the participating countries and compared the features of the systems. In addition, this study explores the common issues surrounding the teacher education and induction system. Moreover, the researcher has tried to derive some suggestions for improvement of teacher education and induction system in Korea.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of the Daegu Happiness Competency Education Program. It was confirmed that students, parents, teachers, and education professions are aware of the middle and higher level of education for happiness in Daegu in terms of the formation and operation of the curriculum. There is no significant difference between students and parents in terms of average value, and teachers' perception level is relatively high, which is understandable in that teachers are the subjects of the curriculum organization and operation. In addition, there was no statistically significant difference between the parents and the school level, but there were significant differences between students and teachers. In particular, students' and teachers' perceptions were lowered as the number of schools increased, unlike the predictions. They showed the lowest results in the special schools, autonomous schools and special schools. The reason for this is that Daegu Happiness Competency Education was implemented in 2014, and it was because there was little room to recognize and accept the new curriculum due to the burden of college entrance examination or employment. In the future, it will naturally improve as the education process is settled, but here we can find suggestions for the establishment of Daegu Happiness Competency Education.

As a first step in developing a more effective and robust approach to faculty research performance assessment, this study analyzed the existing faculty research assessment methods by comparing Korean universities' research evaluation standards, National Research Foundation of Korea's (KRF) standard for assessing research proposals, and various bibliometric measures. The study data included research evaluation standards of KRF along with 27 Korean universities with Library and Information Science (LIS) department, and the publication data of 183 LIS faculties in Korean universities from 2001 to 2015, which consisted of 3,863 papers 16,978 citations. After the comparative analysis of research evaluation standards, the study examined the rankings of institutions and faculty produced by applying the collected standards and bibliometric metrics to the publication data. The study showed that Korean university standards for research evaluation, which aim to consider both productivity and impact of faculty research, differ from similar bibliometric measures such as h-index, and the difference could significantly impact the assessment of faculty research performance.

This study aimed to analyze teacher librarians' perceptions of the importance and performance frequency of their roles inherent in the indicators and items for teacher evaluation and to determine their appropriateness. The results revealed that most indicators and items are appropriate for evaluating teacher librarians' job performance, but some items need to be revised to properly reflect teacher librarians' job tasks. Specific recommendations for their improvement were discussed.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the results of training programs for strengthening teachers' ICT competency and to suggest the ways to improve the existing ones. To do this, we conducted literature review, web survey with teachers, and in-depth interview with training program operators. The results of the online survey indicated that generally speaking, the programs had been operated desirably, although three programs(Thinking with Technology Course, Essential Course, e-PBL Instructional Design Course) needed to take additional efforts for their effectiveness and efficiency. According to the results of in-depth interview with training operators, they demanded re-training for lecturers, self career development, quality control of regional delivery training, expansion of training periods, and post-supports after training etc.

목적: 법랑기질 유도체(EMD)가 사람 치주인대 줄기세포(hPDLSC)의 조직 형성능에 미치는 영향을 in vitro와 in vivo 분석 모델을 이용해 평가한다. 재료 및 방법: hPDLSC를 배양하여 운반체와 함께 면역 억제된 쥐 등에 이식하였다; (1)대조군: EMD 처치하지 않은 운반체에 심어진 hPDLSC군 ($EMD^-/hPDLSC^+$), (2)실험군: EMD 처치한 운반체에 심어진 hPDLSC군 ($EMD^+/hPDLSC^+$). 각 군당 5마리씩 시행하고 8주 후 희생하였다. 조직학적, 조직계측학적 분석을 통해 형성된 백악질의 면적과 백악세포의 수 그리고 샤피 섬유의 수를 계측하였으며 면역조직화학적 분석을 통해 백악질과 교원질 형성을 평가하였다. 또한 in vitro에서 hPDLSC의 수용성 교원질과 glycosaminoglycan 형성에 대한 EMD의 효과를 분석하였다. 결과: 조직학적 분석에서 교원질성 치주 인대 조직이 실험군에서 현저하게 많이 생성된 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 형성된 백악질의 면적과 백악세포의 수는 군 간 차이가 없었으나, 새롭게 형성된 샤피 섬유의 수는 실험군에서 대조군보다 유의하게 많았다(p<0.05). 교원질 형성에 대한 면역조직 화학적 분석 결과, 실험군에서 I, III형 교원질과 hydroxyproline의 발현이 높았다. 또한 in vitro에서 hPDLSC에 의한 수용성 교원질과 glycosaminoglycan 형성이 EMD의 농도에 비례하여 증가하였다 (p<0.05). 결론: EMD는 hPDLSC에 의한 샤피 섬유 및 교원질 생성을 증가시키고, 이는 새로운 백악질의 기능적 부착과 치주조직 재생에 중요한 역할을 한다.

교원의 핵심 역량 중 지식 역량이나 수행 역량 등은 교직과정 이수 결과의 확인이나 지필 시험 또는 실기 시연 등을 통해 확인 또는 평가할 수 있다. 그러나 태도 역량이나 전문성 개발역량의 일부 요소들은 별도의 도구나 평가로 심사해야 된다. 전문성 개발 역량 가운데 자기반성 노력, 지속적 학습 노력, 교육 공동체 간 의사소통 및 협력 등의 요소들은 기존의 평가 방식으로 파악하기 어렵다. 따라서 교원의 핵심 역량을 평가하기 위해서는 교직 적성 및 인성 검사와 같은 별도의 도구가 필요하다. 본 논문은 교원자격을 강화하기 위한 교직 적성 및 인성 검사를 효율적으로 실시하기 위한 온라인 웹 검정 시스템을 설계하고자 한다.

This study seeks to use the law sociological system model, to define the internal and external environmental changes that influence decisions of teacher appeals, and to analyze time-series trends of teacher appeals. This study analyzed appeal cases for 21 years from 1991 to examine number of lawsuits and relief rates by year. As a result, overall, in the case of the 1990s, the relief rates changed irregularly. However, after 2000, overall relief rates declined. This result was discussed to come from the societal request for responsibility of teachers and schools. It was suggested that, to achieve the original objective of appeal system for teachers, there should be a change toward the legal stability.

Teaching and learning research is essential to prepare for the era of the 4th industrial revolution. We must strengthen the creative educational capabilities of prospective teachers by improving the curriculum and teaching-learning model of teacher training colleges. Future education should foster creative thinking based on communication and collaboration. In this study, we improved the future teaching and learning model and applied it to actual classes. In addition, we verified the effectiveness by conducting pre- and post-surveys on the capabilities of future creative teachers. The survey consists of common satisfaction questions and questions about future creative teacher capabilities. As a result of the analysis, we confirmed that the capacity of future creative teachers increased.

Using Korea Education Longitudinal Study and administrative school data, this paper analyzes school characteristics that influence the demand for private education. Among other findings, it should be noted that private education expenditure tends to be decreased when student evaluation of teacher effectiveness is high, the average education level of teachers is high, and individualized education is offered through subject-based classroom. These results suggest that the demand for private education could be dropped by a better quality and high effort of teachers, which would be attained through an improved education system for teaching profession and student-oriented teacher evaluation. In addition, ability grouping within school via subject-based classrooms with different levels appears to be helpful to overcome uniformity of school equalization system without inducing an increasing demand for private education.
