A Study on Construction of Training System for Improvement of Learning Achievement in The Web-Based Distance Education (웹 기반 원격교육에서 학업성취도 향상을 위한 연수시스뎀 구성에 관한 연구)

  • Even though the distance education via Web has a great advantage to overcome time and space, its problem that the management of trainees is not efficient compared with classroom and group education. This problem is a great obstacle to the objects and achievement standards of distance education, giving controversial arguments to the advocators of distance education. Distance educators need to monitor the trainees 'participation and responses continuously and offer appropriate feedback to the trainees. However, the existing distance education system only focuses on teaching and teaming activities, and as a result, the efficient management function of distance education is not available. Accordingly, the study attempts to find out the appropriate managing elements of distance teacher training in order to effectively achieve the goals of teacher training and the efficient management of distance education. Also, it proposes distance teacher training system that offers appropriate feedback to trainees, applying the derived elements of distance teacher training to the training processes. To verify the efficiency of the system, hypotheses on related items of distance teacher education and learning types are suggested, and the achievement of learning and its relations are investigated through questionnaire of learning types.

  • Since MEST accredited web-based training institutes for teacher training in December 2000, although there have been growth quantitatively, due to the issues such as difficulty in securing time for training, in communications infrastructure, in interactions between instructors and learners, in fair online evaluation, in contents renewal, in management of learners, web-based training could not reach the potential we expected. This study was conducted to provide the directions for development of teachers' web-based training along with teacher evaluation for professional development. A survey and interview research was conducted to investigate and anaylze the satisfaction research and suggestions, levels of training system use of trainees who had participated in the pilot test of web-based training.

  • The web-based distance education has some problems in managing students despite the merit of getting over the problem of time and space compared with the classroom education or residential course. These problems make the web-based distance learners difficult in achieving the purpose and the standard of goal. And they drive the manager in charge of the web-based distance education into worries. The manager of the distance education should keep on monitoring students' participation and response, and then give the appropriate feedback to the students. But, the existing distance education system neglects to support efficient management function, for it puts emphasis on the activity of teaching and learning. Therefore, the purposes of this study are to extract the factors that are necessary to manage the distance education for training teachers, to realize the effective management system which can offer a proper feedback in the distance education for training teachers through the application of those factors to the training program, to make it possible to change the management system flexibly according to the curriculum and the computing setting.

  • 원격교육연수를 통하여 달성하고자 하는 궁극의 목적은 교원의 역량을 강화하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 원격교육연수는 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 지속적으로 시스템을 개량하고 양질의 콘텐츠를 확보하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 일련의 과정들이 교원의 역량을 강화하는 방향으로 적절히 진행되고 있는지에 대한 검증을 하고자 하였다. 특히, 문헌연구를 통하여 초등교원의 역량에 대한 정의를 먼저 도출하였으며, 설문조사를 실시하여 초등교원이 가장 많이 필요로 하는 역량을 선정함으로써, 초등교원의 역량 모델을 유추하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 초등교원의 역량을 강화할 수 있는 궁극적인 방향이 제시될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Development of a Scale for Measuring Learning Outcomes in a Distance Teacher Training Program (교원의 원격연수프로그램 성과측정 도구개발)

  • The purpose of the study is to develop a scale for measuring learning outcomes in the distance teacher training programs. In order to develop the measurement instrument, the forty-four items were developed based on the literature review and ten experts' review. For data collection, a web-based survey was conducted among teachers taking a distance teacher training program at National Education Training Institute. With the data of 205 sample size from the first survey, the Exploratory Factor Analysis was conducted and seven factors were identified. In order to validate the test, the Confirmatory Factor Analysis was performed with 293 respondents from the second survey. In conclusion, this study reports the reliability and validity of a scale for learning outcomes in distance teacher training programs consisting of seven factors with 34 items; 1) system quality, 2) content quality, 3) service quality, 4) use, 5) benefit, 6) satisfaction, 7) transfer.

  • Recently, web based virtual trainings in the teacher training are on the increase. However, we have evaluated only about hardware systems of virtual training systems and considered a question in their good aspects. Now, it is time we evaluate the problems of virtual training systems and search the solutions of them. However, we have no chance to evaluate of problems of each virtual training systems. Therefore, we will analysis management aspects some web based virtual training courses and propose the solutions of them.

  • In this paper, a cyber training institute system suitable for teachers' training is designed and implemented, and it is applied to and evaluated on the actual spot. While general purpose cyber education systems have too much unnecessary functions and are inconvenient to operate, this system removes the unnecessary functions and has only useful functions. This system is much concerned with the interaction among learners, instructors, administrators and contents. This system is characterized by having menu items such as Searching Learners, Taking Attendance, Information for Learners, Assignment Hand out, Group Debate, Cyber Cafe and Access Statistic to promote the interaction. The result of the application of this system to 554 teachers for two years is that the ratio of completion was 95%.

  • 요즘 원격 교육의 필요성으로 인하여 교사 연수에 있어서도 기존 출석 연수와 병행하여 원격연수가 증가하는 추세에 있다. 그러나 현재 이루어지고 있는 원격 연수의 상당 부분은 실제 현장 교사들이 원하고 교사 연수의 핵심인 교수법 향상에 대한 것보다는 교과에 대한 지식이나 기능위주로 시행되고 있는 것이 사실이다. 교사 연수의 궁극적인 목적인 교수법 향상을 위해서는 연수생들이 경험이 풍부하고 교수법이 뛰어난 교사가 실제 수업하는 것을 보고 동료 교사들끼리 서로 충분히 토의를 거치고 배우는 형태의 연수가 유용할 것이다. 그러나 시간, 인원, 경비 등의 문제로 실제 그렇게 하기 어려우므로, 교수-학습 지도안과 동기화된 동영상 중심으로 이루어진 원격 연수 시스템을 구축하는 것이 좋을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 동기화 동영상 저작 도구를 개발하고 이를 활용하여 원격 연수 시스템을 구축해서 교사들의 교수법 향상에 많은 도움이 되리라 기대한다.

  • The aim of this study is providing basic data to design successful in-service training program for teacher librarians by analyzing their preference on subjects of customized intensive programs for indicators of teacher expertise development. According to the survey, teacher librarians seem to regard training subjects such as Reading Education and Information Literacy Instruction related educational information services as core jobs and prefer developing instructional contents and materials. Under the levels of school it seems that teacher librarians in the elementary school are interested in programs for library activation, management of volunteers, analyses of users' needs and curricula, evaluations of user instruction and information literacy instruction. Older teacher librarians favor an understanding of metadata, building and supporting information system and instruction. Therefore, training subjects for teacher librarians should be formed by linking strategies between school library instruction and subject curricula. And in terms of the method of training, case studies and practical training might be better than lectures based on the theory.

A Study on the Improvement and Analysis of the Teacher's Distance Learning Management System (교원 원격 연수 시스템 분석을 통한 원격 연수 활성화 방안에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we analyzed the login frequencies and the learner's results of an examination related in the teacher's information distance learning. The results of analysis are as follows. First, most of learners connected to the learning system in school at office hours. And the login frequencies on Sunday are high remarkably in test pole. Seconds, the on-line assessment and the ratio of completion is high the learner who participation with a fellow worker than the learner who not so. But because of the low allotment of marks about on-line estimation, it hardly influence in the last results. Third, the ratio allotment of marks about on-line estimation is suitable $20{\sim}30%$. Forth, learners of low grade are higher the login frequencies, the last results is high. Therefore the operator of the learning system estimates ability of learners by pre-test and must have continues and encouragement about leaners of law grade.
