  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the differences between early childhood teacher's perception and implementation of the composition direction and details of 5 criteria of "Nuri curriculum by age for 3 to 5 year-olds". As basic research data, this research is to contribute to understand the actual needs of on-spot teacher training, in the early implementation stage of Nuri curriculum, and to be used as basic data to effectively support and execute teacher training, so that "Nuri curriculum by age for 3 to 5 year-olds" can settle as educational basis of stable educational policy in the future. This research used PASW 18.0 program to analyze the difference of early childhood teachers' perception and implementation about Nuri curriculum. Results of this study were as follows; First, the general trend of early childhood teachers' perception and implementation was analyzed by average and standard deviation. Second, to see the difference between perception and implementation of Nuri curriculum for the entire group of early childhood teachers surveyed, matching sample t-test was used.

  • The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of early childhood teachers' perception of young children's right and teachers' right on their implementation of respect for young children's right. For this, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 355 early childhood teachers working at early childhood education institutions in the Seoul metropolitan area. Collected data were analyzed with Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 24.0. As a result, the higher the level of early childhood teachers' perception on young children's right and teachers' right, the higher the level of their implementation of respect for young children's right. In addition, early childhood teachers' perception of young children's right and teachers' right were found to be predictable variables on their implementation of respect for young children's right. Based on the results, we suggest a need to enhance early childhood teachers' perception not only on young children's right but also on teachers' right to enhance their implementation of respect for young children's right.

  • This study aimed at analyzing teachers' perception of democratic civic education. A total of 200 childcare teachers participated in the survey, and frequency analysis and cross-tabulation analysis were performed to analyze the survey data. According to the results of the study, first, the childcare teachers were significantly different in the teachers' factors on necessity and difficulty of democratic civic education. The childcare teachers perceived the necessity of democratic civic education, and attributed the cause of the difficulties in democratic civic education to parents' attitudes. Second, there weren't significant differences in the teacher's factors on the content and methods of democratic civic education. Therefore, in this study, it is emphasized that democratic civic education is related to young children's homes and communities, and reorganization of democratic civic education programs based on development of young children is suggested.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine teachers' gender difference in teachers' perceptions of the affective domain in teaching practice. This study was conducted with 327 secondary mathematics teachers in Gyeonggi-do by survey method. According to the results, female teachers showed more positive responses in perceptions of the affective domain and teaching practices in the aspect of affective domain at the stage of planning lessons, assessing students, and reflecting lessons. Especially, female group showed higher mean scores than male group in the perception of the value of mathematics at the all stages of teaching.

  • In this paper, we study the recognition and fallacy of would-be in-service teachers about numbers with irrational exponent. We chose 51 secondary school teachers who are teaching mathematics in K metropolitan city and investigate their recognition and fallacy about the cases of irrational exponents of a positive rational and irrational exponents of a positive irrational number at the expansion of exponential law. We found following facts. First, in-service teacher's a percentage of correct answers differ depending on the type of numbers with irrational exponent. Second, in-service teachers decide their answer depending on intuition rather than logic. Third, in-service teachers decide their answer depending on exponential rather than base.

  • This study investigated the perceptions of the relationship among the three acid-base models of chemistry teachers. In addition, we examined how the perception of the relationship between models affected on the interpretation of concepts in each model. To investigate teachers' perceptions and interpretations, a questionnaire and interviews were conducted for 24 chemistry teachers. As results, most of the chemistry teachers recognized the three models as cumulative extension relationships. The perceptions were related to the contents of textbooks. The perception of the relationship of these models influenced on interpretations of the models' acid-base concept. In this study, we suggested that science teachers need to be aware of diverse models' roles.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers' perceptions of gender differences in students' mathematics and science learning ability. The sample included 289 elementary and secondary school gifted teachers. The teachers filled out the survey, asking their perceptions of gender differences in mathematics and science learning ability, as well as of the reasons of the differences. The results were as follows: 1) 65% of the teachers responded that gender differences existed in students' mathematics and science learning ability, 2) 63% of the teachers perceived that the differences began around higher elementary or middle school ages, 3) 57% of the teachers thought that gender differences existed in the high-achieving student group. Teachers perceived the reasons of differences were 1) differences in inborn ability, 2) the different expectation, and 3) the different ways of parental cares. Since teachers' perceptions of students' ability would impact teachers' attitudes on students, implications and suggestions were included in this article to provide teachers insights that promote students' better learning.

The study verified the hypothetical path model and analyzed the effects of incentive gap of teacher's merit-pay, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. The subjects of the study are 762 elementary and secondary school teachers. The results of the study are as follows: Firstly, it was found that there are significant correlations among incentive gap of teacher's merit-pay, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. Secondly, incentive gap of teacher's merit-pay affects organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. Lastly, S grade teachers of teacher's merit-pay are more organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior level were higher than A and B grade teacher. Therefore teacher's merit-pay have positive impacts to the teachers.

  • Mathematics textbooks based on storytelling in elementary schools started to apply a new method of teaching math to the first and second grade students from this year. By surveying the actual responses of both in-service and pre-service teachers, this study aimed to find out critical opinions to assist future math teachers. The survey was conducted among 124 in-service teachers and 112 pre-service teachers, asking what they needed for the understanding of the storytelling theory and for the preparation of actual lessons. After analyzing data, we concluded that in-service teachers have more positive opinion about the efficiency of teaching and learning mathematics based on storytelling, but more negative opinion about the appropriateness of storytelling as a means for teaching and learning mathematics than the pre-service teachers in elementary school. The in-service elementary teachers also want to have well-organized teaching resources for storytelling and development. Through a lot of training, more and more creative ways of applying the storytelling method can be learned and concrete presentations of real lessons need to be shared. Approximately 87% of pre-service teachers believe the storytelling method is a necessity in teaching math.
