Practical Arts(Technology.Home Economics) Textbook Evaluation Criterion based on Perspectives of the National Curriculum (교과 교육과정에 제시된 관점에 근거한 실과(기술.가정) 교과서 평가기준 방향 탐색)

  • Developing textbook evaluation criterion is as important as textbook development in education. Home economics subject has been involved in textbook evaluation since 1995, at which the first home economics textbook was under the national authorization system in South Korea. There has been little research on home economics textbook evaluation criterion even though there were more studies using textbook analysis. The purposes of this study were to explore the reason why subject perspectives were reflected on the textbook evaluation criterion, the relationships between the perspectives presented by national curriculum and technology home economics textbook evaluation criterion, and the future direction for developing textbook evaluation criterion. So this study was related to analyze practical arts(technology home economics) textbook evaluation criterion and the meaning of subject perspectives in textbook evaluation criterion, to drive perspectives consistently presented by the 2007 revised and 2011 revised national curriculum, to analyze the relationships between the perspectives in national curriculum and textbook evaluation criterion, and to provide the future direction for textbook evaluation criterion development. Textbook evaluation criterion is very important because it provides subject perspectives for developing textbook, delivers the core concepts and unique values of our subject, and provides the direction for teacher education. According to the analysis of both national curriculum, the perspectives such as management competency, life competency, practical experience, integrative competency for understanding individual and family, career and life planning, and life problem-solving were presented in this study. Implication for future research would be needed to develop the factors of textbook evaluation criterion based on the perspective presented by national curriculum.

  • 지금까지 컴퓨터의 교육적 활용은 보조적인 교수자료나 학습도구로서 인식되어 왔지만 디지털교과서(Digital Textbook)의 출현으로 컴퓨터와 학교 교육과정 및 수업이 하나로 통합되면서 컴퓨터의 교육적 역할이 학습보조수단에서 교수.학습활동의 주된 교재로써의 역할로 바뀌게 되었다. 국내에서는 2007년 3월, 교육과학기술부(MEST)에서 본격적인 디지털교과서 개발과 보급을 위한 준비 단계의 계획으로 '디지털교과서 상용화(常用化) 방안'을 발표하였다. 이에 따라 교육 분야에서는 급변하는 국가 사회적 요구를 교과서에 신속히 반영하고 체계적인 교수 학습 국가 DB를 구축하기 위한 "디지털교과서 개발" 사업을 추진하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 디지털교과서 정의와 기능을 제시하며, 국내외의 디지털교과서 개발사례를 살펴본다. 또한 마지막으로 디지털교과서 개발전략 및 발전방향을 제안하였다.

A Study on the Standard Curriculum for Civil Engineering (토목공학을 위한 표준 교과과정에 관한 연구)

  • This study present the standard curriculum for civil engineering considering korean education environment. The flow charts of USA's 20 universities and Korea's 6 universities are investigated. The standard curriculum are proposed based on the civil engineering curriculum of USA and Korea though analyzing of subject division, major field, and major subject. The proposed standard curriculum is expected when used to improve korean universities curriculum.

  • There are differences in manner to be shown according to a basic point of view about knowledge in division which is traditional algorithm. The 1st and 2nd stage show didactic transpositions less systemic. The 3rd stage, which were influenced by the new math, uses logical mechanism. The 4th stage shows conceptual knowledge of the division independently. The 5th and 6th stage use concrete models which shows a course. The 7th stage constitutes contents systematically and shows many chances which focus on the formation of knowledge. The suggestions derived from such transition should be considered in the practice class and an elementary mathematics textbooks for meaningful learning.

  • Textbooks are the basic materials for school education and the best instruments that the teachers can use. The textbooks for information and communication technology education that are authorized by the superintendent of schools are currently used in the elementary schools and the various kinds of the ICT textbooks are adopted in accordance with the cities and provinces. In this study, we make a comparative study of the 11 ICT textbooks for year 4 students from the view points of the present conditions, the organizations, and the contents. Also, using Romey's method we investigate them whether their contents are suitable for the inquiring activities. We expect that our study will be the basis of the development of the next authorized ICT textbooks and contribute to the ICT education.

  • This study is aimed at finding some drawbacks of current elementary mathematics textbooks and to give suggestions for ongoing new textbooks according to 2009 revised curriculums, by comparing and analyzing Korean textbooks and chinese textbooks of People's Education Press. The areas are confined to number concepts, addition and subtraction for comparative analyzing. The results are followings: Korea textbooks have more verbal expressions, designated instructive activities for students to do, similar algorithm applied for enlarging mathematical concepts, bigger number concepts and number usage of operations, and monotonous number sense activities. Therefore Korean textbooks, compared to China's, is more weaker in areas such as encouraging student's interest, in challenging mathematics, and in forming fundamental mathematical concept.

  • The aim of this study is to select lesson contents of "Manufacturing Processes" textbook and to provide means to improve the compilation strategy based on the 2007 revised national curriculum. For accomplishing this purpose of the study, reviews of "Manufacturing Processes" textbook by 7th national curriculum and questionaries are conducted. Contents organization of lessons is done by specialists. The results are as followed: first, Changing in contents organization of units and chapters in "Manufacturing Processes" textbook based on the 2007 Revised National Curriculum is confirmed. Second, learning subjects of lessons are reformed and complemented. Third, contents organization of units, chapters, lessons are indicated.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation between major subjects of industrial circle high school and mathematics matched with present 2007 revision curriculum. We compare and analyze learning contents in industrial circle's math education via various aspects including methods of explanations, contents domains, and contents levels. The analysis followed by the research study performed with literature study of curriculums and text books. Our research indicates that school curriculum should be reflected relation between industrial high school's each major course and mathematics, so each major course curriculum should be different. Many contents beyond high school mathematics were founded. Hence suitable mathematical maturity and levels within standard high school math curriculum should be considered when one make text books of major course in industrial circle high school.

The Influence of Textbooks Applying Gamification Motivation Strategy on Learners' Interest: Social Textbooks for 3rd Graders in Elementary School (게이미피케이션 동기 전략을 적용한 교과서가 학습자의 흥미에 미치는 영향: 초등 3학년 사회 교과서를 중심으로)

  • The social studies, mathematics, and science textbooks of the elementary curriculum will begin to be authorized from 2022. This study explores the effect of textbooks based on a gamification motivation strategy on learner interest. For this purpose, this study analyzes whether the systematic application of the gamification motivation strategy to elementary studies textbooks, which will be authorized from 2022, can develop this textbook into a "learner-centered curriculum book that induces interest." More specifically, this study applied Kumsung Publishing's experimental social studies textbooks in class and conducted a questionnaire among 121 third graders to verify the effectiveness of the textbooks. The results show that studies textbooks based on a gamification motivation strategy greatly influence increased learner interest in the classroom. The textbooks also represent a positive influence in learner understanding, interest, and curiosity regarding the class content and assistance. Demonstrating that gamification motivation strategy is worthwhile to actively apply in future textbook development for the enhancement of learners' interests, this study is significant in that it has presented a meaningful textbook development model.

An Analysis of Mathematical Competencies Intended in Elementary Mathematics Textbooks for Third and Fourth Grade (초등학교 3~4학년군 수학 교과서에 의도된 교과 역량 분석)

  • Despite the necessity and significance of mathematical competencies in the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum, there has been lack of studies analyzing textbooks in which such competencies are intended in detail through various tasks. Given this background, this paper analyzed how mathematical competencies and their sub-elements have been represented in the mathematics textbooks for third and fourth grade. The findings of this study showed that 'communication' was the most prevalent mathematical competence, followed by 'reasoning', 'creativity and integration', 'information processing', 'attitude and practice', and 'problem solving' in order. This study also explored the characteristics of mathematical competencies in the textbooks by analyzing which sub-elements per competence were popular. With illustrative examples, this paper is expected to provide for textbook developers with implications on how to represent mathematical competencies throughout the textbooks.
