Characteristics of Transparent Mim Capacitor using HfO2 System for Transparent Electronic Device (투명전자소자를 위한 HfO2계 투명 MIM 커패시터 특성연구)

  • The effects of $HfO_2$ film thickness on electrical, optical, and structural properties were investigated. We fabricated ITO/$HfO_2$/ITO metal-insulator- metal (MIM) capacitor using transparent conducting oxide. When $HfO_2$ film thickness increase from 50 nm to 300 nm, dielectric constant of $HfO_2$ was decreased from 20.87 to 9.72. The transparent capacitor shows an overall high performance, such as a dielectric constant about 21 by measuring the ITO/$HfO_2$/ITO capacitor structures and a low leakage current of $2.75{\times}10^{-12}\;A/cm^2$ at +5 V. Transmittance above 80% was observed in visible region.

  • In this paper, when a H-polarized plane wave is incident on the grating consisting of uniform resistive strips, electromagnetic scattering is analyzed using the moment of methods (MoM). The current density of each resistive strip on a grounded dielectric plane is fixed by zero at both edges. To satisfy the condition at both ends of each resistive strip, the induced surface current density is expanded in a series of cosine and sine functions. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown current coefficients. According to the variation of the involving parameters such as strip width and spacing and angle of the incident field, numerical simulations are performed by applying the Fourier-Galerkin moment method. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for resistive strips case for zero and several resistivities are obtained.

To satisfy this, the induced surface current density is expanded in a series of Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown current coefficients. According to the variation of the involving parameters such as strip width and spacing and angle of the incident field, numerical simulations are performed by applying the Fourier-Galerkin moment method. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for resistive strips case for several resistivities are obtained.

Design and Evaluation of Intelligent Helmet Display System (지능형 헬멧시현시스템 설계 및 시험평가)

  • In this paper, we describe the architectural design, unit component hardware design and core software design(Helmet Pose Tracking Software and Terrain Elevation Data Correction Software) of IHDS(Intelligent Helmet Display System), and describe the results of unit test and integration test. According to the trend of the latest helmet display system, the specifications which includes 3D map display, FLIR(Forward Looking Infra-Red) display, hybrid helmet pose tracking, visor reflection type of binocular optical system, NVC(Night Vision Camera) display, lightweight composite helmet shell were applied to the design. Especially, we proposed unique design concepts such as the automatic correction of altitude error of 3D map data, high precision image registration, multi-color lighting optical system, transmissive image emitting surface using diffraction optical element, tracking camera minimizing latency time of helmet pose estimation and air pockets for helmet fixation on head. After completing the prototype of all system components, unit tests and system integration tests were performed to verify the functions and performance.

Synthesis and Characterization of Transparent Copolyimide Films (I) (투명한 폴리이미드 공중합체 필름의 합성과 특성 연구 (I))

  • Copolyimides were synthesized from 4,4'-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride (6FDA) and 1,3-bis(3-aminophenoxy)benzene (BAPB) with different mole ratios of 2,2-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)pheny1]hexafluoropropane (BAPP). The solution cast film of poly(amic acid) (PAA) was heat treated at different temperatures to create copolyimide films. The PI copolymer films were found to exhibit good optical transparencies. The thermomechanical properties, morphology, and optical transparency of PI films were examined using fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), wide-angle X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopes (SEM), differential scanning calorimeter(DSC), thermo-gravimetric analyzer (TGA), universal tensile machine (UTM), and IN - Vis. spectrometer. The glass transition temperature ($T_g$), ultimate strength, and initial modulus linearly increased with increasing BAPP mole fraction. However, thermal stability($T_D{^i}$) of the copolyimide remains constant regardless of BAPP loadings. It was found, however, that the optical transparency decreases slightly upon increasing the BAPP content because of the formation of the charge transfer complexes.

Effect of Chain Orientation on the Characteristics of PEN Flexible Substrate (사슬 배향이 폴리(에틸렌 나프탈레이트) 유연기판 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of chain orientation and relaxation on the characteristics of poly(ethylene naphthalate) (PEN) flexible substrate has been studied. It was found that the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of PEN under $100^{\circ}C$ decreased as low as $20ppm/^{\circ}C$ due to the lowering of chain mobility by chain orientation. The thermal shrinkage was found to appear near glass transition temperature because of chain relaxation. It could be minimized by thermal annealing but CTE increased again up to $70ppm/^{\circ}C$ which was 65% of intrinsic CTE of PEN. Unstrained thermal annealing made possible to avoid the thermal shrinkage with maintaining low CTE obtained by chain orientation. Chain orientation did not affect the optical transmittance; however, thermal annealing caused the decrease of optical transmittance up to 5%. This was understood by the minor crystallization due to the thermal annealing near glass transition temperature.

  • Chalcopyrite $Cu(In,Ga)Se_2$ (CIGS) 화합물 반도체는 고효율 박막태양전지의 광 흡수층으로 사용되는 물질 중 가장 우수한 효율 (19.9%, NREL 2008)을 보유하고 있다. CIGS는 직접천이형 에너지밴드갭 (direct bandgap)을 가지고 있고, 광흡수계수가 $1{\times}10^5\;cm^{-1}$로서 반도체 중 서 가장 흡수율이 높은 재료에 속하여 두께 $1{\sim}2\;{\mu}m$의 박막으로도 고효율의 태양전지 제조가 가능하고, 또한 장기적으로 전기광학적 안정성이 매우 우수한 특성을 지니고 있다. 현재 고효율 CIGS 셀생성을 위해 널리 사용되고 있는 CIGS 흡수층 성장공정은 "co-evaporation(동시증발법)"과 2-step 공정이라 불리는 "sputter-selenization(스퍼터-셀렌화)" 방법이다. 동시증발법은 개별원소 Cu, In, Ga, Se 들을 고진공 분위기에서 고온 ($550{\sim}600^{\circ}C$)기판위에 증착하는 방법으로 소면적에서 가장 좋은 효율(~20%)을 보이는 공정이다. 하지만, 고온, 고진공 공정조건과 대면적 증착시 온도 및 조성 불균일 등의 문제점 등으로 상용화에 어려움이 있다. 스퍼터-셀렌화 공정은 1단계에서 스퍼터링 방식으로 CuGaIn 전구체를 증착하고, 2단계에서 고온($550{\sim}600^{\circ}C$)하에 $H_2Se$ 혹은 Se vapor와 반응시켜 CIGS를 생성한다. 일본의 Showa Shell와 Honda Soltec 등에 의해 이미 상업화 되었듯이, 저비용 대면적으로 상업화 가능성이 높은 공정으로 평가되고 있다. 하지만, 2단계에서 사용되는 $H_2Se$ 및 Se vapor의 유독성, 기상 Se과 금속전구체 간의 느린 셀렌화 반응속도, 셀렌화반응 후 생성된 CIGS 박막 두께방향으로의 Ga 불균일분포, 생성된 CIGS/Mo 계면 접착력 저하등의 문제점들이 해결되어야만 상업화에 성공할 수 있을 것이다. 본 Tutorial에서는 CIGS 물질의 열역학 상평형과 반응메카니즘에 대해 설명하고, 다양한 생성 공정들을 소개할 것이다.

Hyper-peritectic Al-Ti Alloys as In-Situ composites through Rapid Solidification (급냉응고법에 의한 In-Situ 복합재료로서의 과포정 Al-10wt%Ti 합금(I))

  • In this study, a new concept of aluminum-matrix composites and the possibility of in-situ processing are suggested, and preliminary results on AI- Ti system are presented. Fine powders of AI-lO% Ti were prepared by the gas atomization so that fine $Al_3Ti$ formed into flake shape. A 25v/o $Al_3Ti/Al$ composite sample was made by the pow­d er metallurgy process involving hot extrusion. Microstructure and mechanical behavior both at room temperature and high temperatures were analysed by OM, SEM, TEM and tension test. Microstructural characteristics and mechanical properties of the composites exhibited similar behavior to those of $SiC_w/2124$ composites. Merits and drawbacks of the $Al_3Ti/Al$ composites are discussed together with a possibility of further improvement.

Effect of Anatase TiO2 Doping Power on Electrical, Optical and Structural Properties of Multicomponent TiO2-Doped ITO Electrodes (아나타세 TiO2 도핑파워가 다성분계 TiO2-ITO 투명 전극의 전기적, 광학적, 구조적 특성에 미치는 효과)

  • We report on the effects of $TiO_2$ doping power on the characteristics of multicomponent $TiO_2$-ITO (TITO) electrodes prepared by a multi-target sputtering system with tilted cathode guns. Both as-deposited and annealed TITO electrodes showed linearly increased sheet resistance and resistivity with increasing $TiO_2$ doping power. However, the TITO electrodes exhibited a fairly high optical transmittance regardless of the $TiO_2$ doping power due to the high transparency of the $TiO_2$. Although the annealed TITO showed much lower sheet resistance and resistivity relative to the as-deposited samples, the electrical properties of the annealed samples exhibited similar dependence on the $TiO_2$ power to the as-deposited samples. In addition, it was found that doping of an anatase $TiO_2$ in the ITO electrode prevented the preferred (222) orientation of the TITO electrodes. Although the TITO electrode showed higher sheet resistance and resistivity than that of the pure ITO electrode, it offers a very smooth surface and usage of a low-cost Ti element. It is thus considered a promising multicomponent transparent conducting electrode for cost-efficient flat panel displays and photovoltatics.

Tyrosinase Reaction in AOT/Isooctane/Reverse Micelles (AOT/이소옥탄/역미셀계에서의 Tyrosinase 반응)

  • It is difficult to accurately evaluate the effect of lipophilic compounds in aqueous reaction system of enzymes because they are immiscible with water. To screen lipophilic inhibitors of tyrosinase which catalyzes the synthesis of melanin in vivo, an optically clear organic system composed of organic solvent, surfactant, and water, often called reverse micelles(RM), was introduced. Optimal RM to let tyrosinase act normally was composed of isooctane as an organic solvent and dioctyl sulfosuccinate(AOT) of 100 mM as a surfactant. When a molar ratio of water to surfactant was 15, tyrosinase(105.3 units) in RM showed a similar reactivity toward 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine(0.18 mM) as in the aqueous assay system. In the presence of cinnamic acid, the product formation of tyrosinase reaction was proportional to the reaction time. This indicates that the inhibitory effect of lipophilic compounds could be analyzed in RM.
