Effects of ad endorser's gaze directions on social perceptions and advertising effectiveness (광고 모델의 시선 효과: 모델의 사회적 특성 지각과 광고 효과성)

  • An ad endorser's gaze direction is a salient nonverbal cue that consumers use in responding to advertisements. The gaze direction influences consumers' social perceptions (e.g., attractiveness, credibility) of the endorser and advertising effectiveness (e.g., advertising attitudes, brand attitudes). Especially, the cerebral emotional asymmetry hypothesis suggests that an ad endorser's left-averted gaze can produce more positive social perceptions and advertising effectiveness than the right-averted gaze for right-handed consumers. This study examined the effects of three gaze directions (direct, left-averted and right-averted gaze directions) of unknown female ad endorser on Korean males' advertising responses (attractiveness-, credibility- and ad-effectiveness-related responses), using online experimental method. The results indicated that the ad endorser's direct gaze was more likely to increase both positive (correspondence bias) and negative (suspicion, deceptiveness) social perceptions of her than the right-averted gaze. The direct gaze also created more positive advertising effectiveness (advertising attitudes) than the right-averted gaze. However, the study failed to find consistent differences in responses between left-averted gaze and either direct or right-averted gaze.

  • 광고 시장 / 채널은 새로운 매체로 전환이 급격히 빠른 분야이다. 과거 TV, 신문 등과 같은 전통적인 매스미디어에서, 현재는 인터넷 및 모바일 광고와 디지털 사이니지를 통한 옥외광고가 주를 이루고 있다. 이에 따라 지속적인 마케팅 패러다임의 변화, 광고시장 / 로봇(서비스형, 지능형) 시장의 성장세를 기반으로 디지털 사이니지와 이동로봇을 결합하여 광고효과를 극대화 시킬 수 있는 커뮤니케이션 마케팅 기반의 신개념 광고기기(Mobile Digital Signage Robot 이하 MDSR)를 제안한다. MDSR의 기본 목표는 로봇이 설정된 루트를 자동으로 이동하며 주변상황을 인지하여 상황에 맞는 광고를 노출시키는 데에 있다. 또한 사용자의 관심을 유도하는 인터랙티브 기능과, 커뮤니케이션 콘텐츠를 탑재하여 주위 사람들의 이목을 집중시키며, 광고노출빈도가 높아지고 흥미유발에 기여하여 광고효과를 극대화 시키고, 이용자 편의성을 제고시킨다. 본고에서는 마케팅 / 디지털 사이니지 / 로봇시장의 실태와 현황을 알아보고, MDSR개발을 위한 HW 필요 탑재부품의 성능정보 수집 및 평가, 로봇 이동제어 및 상황인지와 광고전환을 위한 핵심 SW 알고리즘 개발, 마케팅 전략 및 활용 시나리오, 기대효과 분석 등을 연구해 MDSR 제작 및 활용 방법 등을 살펴본다.

The Influence of Message Types of Comparative Advertising on Advertising Effect (비교광고의 메시지 유형에 따른 광고효과 분석)

  • The purpose of the paper is to examine sidedness effects of comparative advertising and moderating roles of the emotions of customer and product type. To test the research hypotheses, this study conducted experimental designs. One hundred ninety-two undergraduate students were assigned to one of the four experimental groups. Comparative Advertising message type and product type were manipulated as between-subject factors. There was a surprising event situation(free gift event) when participants came to laboratory for experiment, which is for the emotion manipulation. If a participant in a positive emotion group, he or she gets a free gift. The data demonstrate that comparative message type have a significant effect on both attitude toward the advertising and acceptance intention. In addition, consumers' emotion and product type play a significant moderating role between the message types and the dependent variables. The results of this study contribute to the literature as a new attempt to examine the sidedness effect of the comparative advertising message. We suggested that message types and consumer's emotion is one of very important aspects for a comparative advertising and marketers should consider people's emotion when they release a comparative advertising, which can help when marketers make their strategy for a comparative advertising.

A Study on the Effect of Advertising by Generation on the Types of Tourist Attractions Posted on SNS (SNS에 게시된 관광지 사진유형에 따른 세대별 광고효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to suggest ways to utilize local governments' SNS by recognizing whether advertising affinity affects advertising effectiveness and significant differences between photo types (personality or absence) and generation. The survey was conducted from 1 April to 16 April 2021, and a total of 235 copies were used for empirical analysis. According to the analysis, advertising likeability affects advertising effects, and photos involving tourists have a greater impact on advertising effects in their 20s. This will require local governments to make various efforts to identify the generations that access SNS the most, and to encourage them to post photos suitable for that generation, along with ensuring that tourists' photos are posted at tourist attractions.

  • 본 논문에서는 웹 페이지에서 사용되는 광고 콘텐츠에 대해서 나타낸다. 웹 페이지에서 사용되는 광고 콘텐츠는 모션 그래픽으로 제작하여 인터렉티브하게 이용 된다. 또한 웹 페이지에서 사용되는 광고는 광고의 특성을 가지고 있다. 따라서 광고의 특성에 따라 콘텐츠의 특성도 달라진다. 웹 페이지에서 사용되는 광고 콘텐츠은 특성에 따라 이미지 광고와 동영상 광고로 분류한다. 이들 콘텐츠의 특성으로 이미지의 사이즈와 동영상의 사이즈, 제작 파일 크기, 재생 시간, 웹 페이지의 위치에 따라서 다양한 광고 효과를 연출한다. 따라서 광고 효과를 나타내기 위해서는 제작 광고 콘텐츠의 특성과 인터렉티브 콘텐츠의 특성이 고려되어야 한다.

Cross-Model Effect of Model Types, Product Gender Identity and Message Appeal Type (모델유형과 제품의 성 정체성 그리고 메시지 소구에 따른 크로스 광고모델 효과)

  • This study has recently been issued to businesses and consumers who examined the effects of cross-advertising model. Experimental design, the model type (2) ${\times}$ sexuality products (2) ${\times}$ advertising message appeal form (2) is a factorial design. The results are as follows. First, the advertising model, based on the type of cognitive response to advertising than the general model of cross-recall index was higher model. Second, the product of gender identity in response to what the advertising product for women than men was higher index of product recalls. Third, the ad attention model ANOVA results for each type of message, the main effect of appeal type was identified. In addition, the type and model of sexual identity, and message appeal type in the type of model interaction effects were found. Finally, the model-product analysis of goodness of fit, the model type and sexual identity and appeal type messages of main effect were identified. The result is more efficient advertising effect model strategies for promoting meaningful results, it is meant to be confirmed.

Effect of Sex Appeal Advertising (섹스어필 광고의 효과)

  • Study on how a visual image of sex-appealing advertisement is meaningfully functioned and how customers recognize it is necessary but preceding studies about it are not sufficient. Therefore, this study analyzed effect of advertisement and its reaction according types of visual expression in sex-appealing advertisement and also, it found effective expression type of sex-appealing advertisement. As the result, according to appealing types of eroticism and pornograph, attitude on advertizement and intention of purchase showed difference and according to expressing types, there was difference in attitude on advertisement, attitude on brand, and intention of purchase. But there was not interactive effect between appealing type and expressing type. Such results implied that in using eroticism advertisement strategy, white and black color had higher expressing effect than natural color, to raise effect of brand, artistic sense and eroticism strategy were needed, and to raise intention of purchase, naked expression of pornograph was more effective.

  • A Study on the Effect of Metaphor in Public Service Advertising. The study carried out a positivistic research on university students with a view to contributing to the building of a metaphoric ad strategy by analyzing the effect of metaphoric expressions in public service advertising, which showed the following: First, the metaphoric ads using positive approach and indirect copy were effective for heightened emotional attitude of viewers. Second, the metaphoric ads using positive approach and indirect copy were effective for heightened source credibility, which was further heightened when the two were simultaneously used. Third, the metaphoric ads using positive approach and indirect copy were effective for heightened design preference, and the design preference became even preferable when the two were simultaneously used. Fourth, the metaphoric ads using indirect copy were effective for behavioral intention. The study suggested that the strategy of adopting metaphoric ads with indirect copy of positive approach was quite useful in strengthening the effect of public service advertising.

A Study on the Effect of Regulatory Focus and Self-construal on Digital Signage Advertisement (디지털 사이니지 광고유형별 효과에 조절초점과 자아해석이 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, the differential effects of exposure-type digital signage advertisement and interactive digital signage advertisement were examined through the moderating variables of regulatory focus and self-construal. As a result of the study, in the case of individuals with promotion focus and independent self-construal, interactive digital signage advertisements had a more positive effect than exposure-type digital signage advertisements. However, in the case of prevention focus and interdependent self-construal, there was no difference in effect between digital signage advertisement types. Therefore, we can help to establish a customized strategy according to individual characteristics using digital signage.
