  • This paper inquires closely into the background of pansori gosu(drummer) and his social position based on documents and oral materials and the performance features of gosu in the entire process of pansori performance, 'preparation', 'performance' and 'aftermath', focused on the relationship between the changja(singer)-gosu. In the past, some gosus were ex-tightrope performers. Their social position and working conditions were better than that of the ex-tightrope performers but were worse than that of the pansori singer. After 1910's, people formed some special sense about the gosu due to the change of the space for pansori performances and the technological advances on the media, and gosu's conditions improved. The theory of pansori drum gradually began to be established well. The function and the role of gosu in the whole process of pansori performance may be summarized as follows. To begin with, the training with various and a lot of singers is required in the 'preparation'. Rehearsals are divided into individual practices and joint practices, and the latter can be controlled by the level of the capacity of gosu and the degree of the experience between chanja-gosu. Next, bobiwi(flattering drumming) and chuimsae(encouraging remarks) are important in tbe 'process'. The gosu has to share the speed of one jangdan(rhythmic patterns) and the accent of the sori and adjust his enery. Besides, he has to acknowledge the naedeureum(beginning sign) and reply with changja's singing. In formal performances, working in harmony with changja and gosu and their joint experiences are necessary for the gosu; in pansori contests, giving chanja a stability; in contests for gosu, drumming skill, position, chuimsae; in small performances and new adaptation of pansori, cheap fees and positive response of the transformational play or ad-lib; in lecturer concerts, reacting quickly to rapidly changing situations. Chuimsae is way which gosus and audiences express their feeling together, however, its context and sound are different. Finally, 'aftermath' is a process the pair of chamgja and gosu mutually evaluates about performance or audiences estimate that.

  • In this article, I would like to pay attention to the changesofShaman's play as a part of examining the process of changeofDonghaeanbyeolsingut. Currently, Shaman's play can be seeninBaekseok2-ri, Byeonggok-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun, Gugye-ri, Namjeong-myeon and Yeongdeok-gun. Among them, ShamanRitual of Baekseok2-ri is short in cycle and easy to see change. InShaman Ritual of Baekseok2-ri, various Shaman's plays suchasJungdodukjabi(중도둑잡이), Wonnimnori(원님놀이), Talgut(탈굿), Mallori(말놀이), Hotalgut(호탈굿) and Georigut(거리굿) areperformed. Shaman's play carried out in Donghaeanbyeolsingut changesevery time it is carried out. Depending on the degree of change, itcan be classified into passive change and positive change. Whilepassive changes are improvisational, aggressive changes areintentional. Shaman's plays are jungdodukjabi, Mallori, Hotalgut, which are the improvisational changes, and the intentional changesare Wonnimnori, Talgut, Georigut. The biggest change in Shaman's play is the disappearance of the Shaman Ritual. The Shaman Ritual is suspended due to lackofpeople, financial difficulties, religious conflicts or rational accidents. Secondly, the period of separation is shortened or shortened. Thiscauses Shaman's play to be dropped or shrunk to change. InShaman Ritual, changes in Shaman's play are variable andcreative. The change due to the intervention of the spectatorsismainly improvisation. On the other hand, the change bythepreliminary plan of the acquaintance is intentional, and the changeis large. The changing factors of Shaman's play are influenced bythedemands of the times and the recognition of the tradition group. Changes in the traditional environment can be attributed to lackofhuman resources, individualism, changes in the workingenvironment and time constraints. At the same time, givingautonomy to traffickers is a major reason for Shaman's playtochange.

  • In March 2016, the computer Go program, AlphaGo, defeated Sedol Lee, a Korean professional Go player of 9-dan rank. This victory by AlphaGo shows the rise in popularity of artificial intelligence (AI). Not only was this game a testament to machine performance, it was the type of game that extended the Turing test. When the interrogator cannot differentiate between human being and machine, the machine has passed the test. This article examines the interactions between AI and human beings and studies the social nature of intelligence through the AlphaGo case. Collins insists that knowledge or intelligence is social and embodied, and the interrogators in the Turing test can identify the difference between native members and non-members through their knowledge only. Applying this concept, AlphaGo, as subject A of this test, fulfilled its role of stirring up the classical "truth of human." Meanwhile, Lee as subject B, played to speak the truth by revealing his own qualities. Here, it is also important role that interrogators judge what it is. Many spectators, as interrogators, have intervened to confirm the border between human beings and machines by using their embodied and social knowledge.

  • There were many theories to suggest the indicators that evaluate stability and reflect the plan in mixed traffic street in all traffic modes This Paper analyzed residential street of Suwon City adopting time-space occupancy index among these indicates. Three survey street. congregated into apartment house. were selected to analyze this and pictured by video camera over one hour. and the length of these street were 76m, 55m, and 34m each, and major street by each region, comparably high in Pedestrians and pass vehicles, were selected. Basic datum to calculate time-space occupancy index and time-space occupancy index per person was gathered through video analysis. i.e Parameters for pedestrians, cars, bicycles, average speed of bicycles, and parking car. There are some limitation to analyze LOS of mixed traffic street in all traffic modes, not pedestrian mall. Therefore this paper presented evaluation standard of LOS. In conclusion. the aim of this paper is to suggest modeling based on guidelines for evaluating LOS of mixed traffic street in all traffic modes. It is estimated that this will be influencing indicates for improving pedestrian environment, and Planning mixed traffic street in future.

  • Effects of instant coffee on weight, plasma lipids, leptin levels, and fat cell size in high-fat diet-fed rats were investigated, Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats, fed experimental diet containing 40% total dietary fat and 0, 0.6, 1.2, and 2.4% (w/w) instant coffee for 6 weeks, were divided into four experimental groups (n = 6). Feed efficiency ratio of 0.6% coffee group was higher than control group. Weight gain, organ weights, free fatty acid level, and fat cell size were not significantly different among groups. Triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, and leptin levels in plasma were significantly higher in 0.6% coffee group than control group. No significant difference in feed efficiency ratio, triglyceride, and leptin levels were found between control and 2.4% coffee group. These results suggest instant coffee may not have effect on obesity.

  • An electron microscopical observation was carried out to compare the general shape of the mast cells and structures of granules inside the cells in the stomach of 5 species in 3 orders of Mammals. In convenience, the granules in the cytoplasm were abbreviated as follows: 1) Homogeneous granule, GR1 2) Particulate granule, GR2 a. Dark dense particulate granule, GR2-1 b. Less dense particulate granule, GR2-2 3) Reticular granule, GR5 a. Dark dense reticular granule, GR5-1 b. Light dense reticular granule, GR5-2 In Mammalia including goat, dog, cat, and hamster, most of cytoplasmic organelle were Golgi apparatus and mitochondria, and most of the cytoplasmic granules were highly densed GR1and GR2. However GR5-1 and GR5-2 appeared in guinea pig while one side sunken or crescent-like types occured in both dog and guinea pig. All mast cells were oval or spindle with cytoplasmic processes around the cell. There was also found vacuoles and vesicles in these cells. These results demonstrated that there was a morphological difference between species of vertebrate in the mast cells and their cytoplasmic granules. It was also suggested that a variety of structures of granules were closely related with the composition (histamine, heparin, serotonin, hyaluronic acid etc.) and mature of the granules.

  • This study was carried out to identify the long-term changes to beech forest due to climate change in Ulleung-do. To study the traits of the stand structure of beech forest with micro-topography, we investigated the distribution of the basal area, important values, and indicated species in a small ridge between Albong basin and Seongin-bong peak, and 1-ha stands (20 m × 20 m, 25 sites) dominated beech species including on the upper slope and valley parts. The result showed that the indicator species characterizing the vegetation communities were Tsuga sieboldii, Rhododendron brachycarpum, and Mitchella undulata in the small ridge and Celtis jessoensis, Dryopteris crassirhizoma, and Ulmus laciniata in the valley part. Moreover, the individuals with the total DBH < 10 cm were more predominant in the small ridge and upper slope than in the valley part, the individuals with DBH = 10-25 cm were predominant in the small slope, and individuals with DBH = 25-45 cm and DBH > 45 cm were predominant in the upper slope. The reason for the predominant distribution of beech stand with DBH<10 cm in all terrains is suggested to be germination by nutritional propagation rather than secondary succession caused by artificial disturbances and seed propagation.

  • The aim of this study was to characterize the forest vegetation and site of Odaesan National Park for ecological forest management. The vegetation could be divided into two forest community groups, seven forest communities, and several subcommunities. South exposed, dry slopes were covered with forests of the Quercus mongolica-Acer pseudosieboldianum community group. Quercus mongolica-Acer pseudosieboldianum community group could be subdivided into ${\bullet}$ Rhododendron mucronulatum var. ciliatum community on dry sites, especially on south or south-westly exposed ridges or convex slopes; ${\bullet}$ Lespedeza${\times}$tomentella community on south exposed slopes, at low altitudes in the eastern part of the study area; ${\bullet}$ Carex humilis-Maackia amurensis community on south exposed slopes up to the montane region; ${\bullet}$ Quercus mongolica-Acer pseudo-sieboldianum typical community on south exposed middle and low slopes, and on upper and middle north exposed slopes; ${\bullet}$ Pimpinella brachycarpa community, preferably on moderately moist and cool sites. On north exposed, more humid and moist sites, forests of the Dryopteris crassirhizoma-Cornus controversa community group were found. This group was subdivided into ${\bullet}$ Acer tschonoskii var. rubripes-Acer tegmentosum community on moderately moist to moist, loamy soils on shady slopes; ${\bullet}$ Deutzia glabrata-Ulmus laciniata community on north exposed slopes with rocky soil and boulders, having high humidity. There are several rare and endangered species in Rhododendron mucronulatum var. ciliatum community, Carex humilis-Maackia amurensis community, Vicia venosa var. cuspidata subcommunity and Saxifraga punctata subcommunity, and the communities were located in azonal areas in topography. To protect the species, the areas should be categorized as an absolute conservation area, and any forest working should be prohibited in this area.
