  • Development and promotion of foreign tourism products is an important factor for economical side as well as to improving the foreign relation and the image of nation. Also, foreign tourism products can give a positive effect in activation of the domestic tourism industry and foreigner's domestic visit. Thus, development and promotion of travel industry may offer competitive power of the specification country and a development opportunity, and influence in investment infancy of different industry. Therefore, in this study, service quality of this foreign tourism products analyze effect about customer satisfaction and re-purchase intention, investigated competitive power factors of the tourism industry in the future. In the final study, service quality patten, confidence, attraction could be influenced on customer satisfaction, reliability and responsiveness was not affected by the other factors. This study may suggest guideline that analyze the special character factors of the tourism industry future, or develop the critical success factor of foreign tourism products.

  • Recently, the VWORLD was built to ensure competition on the advance of domestic enterprise into foreign markets with rapid expansion of spatial information industry of the world. However, the policy to secure user is insufficient because the VWORLD's service is embryonic stages. Then again, tourist industry is growing rapidly and leading the world economy and number of domestic tourists are also steadily increasing. Although the size was expanded, Korean tourist industry's competition is relatively weak, so some scholars insist that raising the tourist industry's quality. This backgrounds make a study of the tourism information service. So, this paper progressed a study on the development of the tourism information service based on a service science and used VWORLD as a test model. This paper drew the customer's demands on the tourism information service and strategic points of the development from those by using a Quality Function of Deployment of service science's new service development methodologies. After that this study prioritized those strategic points. As a result, 'Face Map' that is a service model was made. Moreover, this study have try to raise the development's effectiveness and efficiency based on service science's a new service development process.

  • 중국은 최근 급속히 진행되는 도시화와 소득 증대 철도 도로 항공 등 교통 인프라 개선에 따라 중국 여행업이 빠르게 발전하고 있다. 중국 사회과학원이 최근 발표한 <2011년 중국 관광 그린북>에 따르면 중국 여행객 수는 연평균 11.7% 증가하여 21억 명을 돌파했고, 관광 수입도 연평균 18.9% 증가해 1조 2,600억 위안에 달하고 있다. 세계경제포럼에서 발표한 세계 관광국 경쟁력 순위에서 중국은 2007년 71위에서 2010년에 39위로 성장하였고, UN 세계관광기구의 보고서에 따르면 중국은 세계 4대 해외관광시장이자 아시아 최대 해외관광 자원국이 되었다. 그리고 미국 보스턴컨설팅그룹이 발표한 보고서에 따르면 2013년 중국은 일본을 제치고 '세계 2 대 관광시장'으로 부상하여 세계 관광시장의 8%를 점유하고, 2020년에는 세계시장 점유율이 14%에 달할 것으로 전망하고 있다(대한상공회의소, 2011). 이러한 중국의 여행지 중에서 중국의 전문여행서적에서 추천하고 있는 중국외 관광명소 중 20대 명승지에 속하는 광서 계림, 호남 장가계, 안휘 황산, 절강 항주, 북경, 내몽고 호화 호특, 백두산 등을 배낭여행을 떠나 구석구석 살펴보았다.

Factors and Sources of Regional Competitive Advantage: The Case of the Hospitality Industry of Jeju Island (지역의 경쟁우위 요인과 원천에 대한 연구: 제주지역 관광산업을 중심으로)

  • This exploratory study analyses the factors, sources and effects of the regional competitive advantage of Jeju Island in Korea in global competition era. The competitive advantage of Jeju Province is analysed with the triple diamond model based on Porter's model for the competitive advantage of nations. The competitive advantage factors of Jeju Province are measured through the competitive advantage of the hospitality industry, which is one of the major industries of Jeju Island. These factors include outstanding natural landscape, domestic hospitality industry workforce, social overhead capital, massive domestic and international tourists, growth of related industries such as duty free shops and casinos, and coincidences such as Jeju Olle trail construction and Chinese government's international travel approval. Since these factors are based on local, domestic and international management resources, this study suggests that obtaining such resources is critical among Jeju hospitality industry in gaining the competitive advantage. Although the competitive advantage of Jeju hospitality industry is increasing, the organic connections with the regional economy are required for improvements on Jeju residents' quality of life. This study examines the factors and origins of competitive advantages on a regional level instead of a national level, and further investigates how the characters and origins of these factors affect the local economy. The results suggest that the triple diamond model is suitable for evaluating the regional competitive advantages.

Indicators of the Destination Competitiveness of Rural Tourism Township in Korea (관광목적지로서의 농촌관광마을의 경쟁력 평가지표 개발)

  • Competitiveness has been associated in the tourism literature as a crucial factor for the success of tourist destinations. This study is to develop indicators that measure destination competitiveness of rural tourism townships in Korea. It was conducted via a Delphi technique and the analytical hierarchy process method. After four rounds of discussions, the panel members reached consensus on a set of 27 indicators with three dimensions which are attractor (resource, infrastructure, and tourism products), assistance (tourism business assistance and value-added processing assistance), and planning and management (planning for development, capacity for management). This set of destination competitiveness indicators can serve as a starting point for devising a set of indicators at the local level in order to be useful rural tourism sector manager and administrators. The selected indicators are measurable, demand driven and practical to show the real performance in rural destination.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 농촌관광의 관계마케팅 활동요인들과 고객만족 간의 관계를 검증하는 것이다. 관계마케팅은 장기적 시각에서 고객요구 및 필요를 충족시킬 수 있는 제품 및 서비스를 제공하고 고객과의 관계를 강화시키는 것에 초점을 맞추고 있는 개념이다. 국가의 지원에 의존하던 과거 프레임을 벗어나 농촌관광이 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해 관계마케팅의 강화가 무엇보다 필요하다고 하겠다. 본 연구는 농촌관광 방문고객을 대상으로 설문한 자료를 기초로 관계마케팅 활동요인들과 고객만족 간의 인과관계를 살펴보고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 확인한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 농촌관광의 실행요인들 중 고객화, 전문성, 커뮤니케이션, 유대는 고객만족에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 표준화계수의 크기를 기초로 판단할 때 유대, 커뮤니케이션, 고객화, 전문성 순으로 중요한 것으로 나타났다.

Touristic Aspects of Geological Heritages -Cretaceous Dinosaur Fossil Sites- (지질유산의 관광자원으로서의 특성과 활용 -국내 백악기 공룡화석산지를 중심으로-)

  • In this article, concepts, types, and aspects of geological heritage with increasing interests as utilization as tourist attractions domestically and internationally are introduced, and the characteristics of the interpretive facilities for geological heritages in western Australia, one of the most famous geotourism areas, are considered. Based on this, the potential geotourism for the Korean Cretaceous geological heritages including dinosaur fossil sites is discussed in diverse aspects including academic values, academic and tourism infrastructures, characteristics of geotourists, systematic devices for conservation of geological heritage, economic value, and sustainability as tourist attractions. Although the Korean Cretaceous geosites are not quite competent in their scale or diversity when compared to world-class geosites, convenient access, world-class unique geographical characteristics of each geosites, and relatively cheaper travelling expenses seems to be able to give the geotourism of the South Korean Cretaceous geosites a competitive edge, attractive for international and domestic tourists seeking unique experience of 'Age of dinosaurs' for short periods with easy access from metropolitan areas and low costs. Likewise, the development of geotourism for the Korean Cretaceous geosites can revitalize the geotourism industry in South Korea, contributing to the growth in job opportunities, including students majoring in geological sciences at University.

  • The flow of world casino industry come to function of resort, theme park and convention. Thus, Current casino industry coming to total entertainment. But our casino industry impose legal controls on speculation industry till now. So, This is study on the casino industry with tourism. Result of this study presents thirds proposals. First, We have to a correct understanding about casino industry is not speculation industry but tourism industry. Seconds, We have to strengthen the competitiveness of our casino on international markets. For example, Introduce new advanced technology, Improve the nation’s foreign investment environment and Strengthen the competitiveness.   • Although many korean cities are getting interested in promoting its attractiveness as a tourism destination, they have little distinguishing attractiveness. In order to reinvigorate competitive urban tourism, developing more charming tourism resources and studying urban contents including its historicity and regionalism regarded as an effective means. By examining old maps therefore, the purpose of this study is to indicate competitive contents of urban tourism focused on the case of Gangneung.
