  • This paper focuses on the systematic conceptualization of the 'contents' through the differentiation between the meanings of the work of art and the contents. The 'contents' are referred to as various media products, but they are all the audience-oriented work of art. From the beginning of its birth the film medium turned out to be a kind of contents, which is involved in the specific role of audience. It also implies that the film medium could not exist without the interaction of the media text and audience. In order to understand this context, this paper analyzes the film of Alfred Hitchcock.

  • This study aims to identify the characteristics and meanings that Korean musical enthusiasts take on as cultural intermediaries of musical content by analyzing the real-time conversations they have while watching musicals performed in online spaces. To this end, the 'Live TALK' chat during the 'ontact' (online contact) performance of the musical Marie Curie was observed in real-time and subsequently analyzed in terms of the characteristics of online cultural intermediaries: their owned capital, their mediating language, and their relationship with the consumers. As a result of the analysis, musical enthusiasts were found to possess a wealth of cultural capital based on practical experience and inquiry, and to be utilizing specific identifying expressions in their language use. In addition, they appeared to be interactive in their communication with the general audience, which could be seen in the flow of spontaneous conversations as well as questions and answers occurring in the live chat. This study is significant in confirming that musical enthusiasts are positioning themselves as new cultural intermediaries through their cultural practices: taking on the role of guides and mediators in the online space 'Live TALK.'

  • The narrative in the post modern age specially changed the relationship between the writer and the audience. There has been discussions in digital story telling on the format where the audience directly get involved in the plot and change it. However, relevant research has a problem that makes it hard to be applied to unilateral narrative analysis. However, in this context, Save the Green Planet utilizes the narrative that emphasizes the role of the audience while keeping the media characteristics of the movie. Save the Green Planet is read in a monophonic manner by the audience. The audience is led, through different voices provided by the movie, to create another plot that is restructured by themselves other than the explicit plot. This paper aims to examine how the elements constituting the narrative of Save the Green Planet restructure a new plot, and examine the restructured narrative between the interaction of the two plots.

  • Media audiences are defined in a complex relationship with a comprehensive media environment, and are structured and reconstructed according to changes in the media environment. Today, with the changes in the media environment represented by convergence and transmedia, discussions on audiences are actively developing, and debates between positive and negative views on the cultural and political characteristics continue. This paper aims to systematically examine the complexity and ambivalence of new audiences beyond the binomial confrontational debate, and to understand the conditions and mechanisms under which the progressive possibility can be actualized. First, it looks at the changes in today's media environment and contents, and examines the changing patterns of audiences in connection with them based on related research. In addition, it examines the debate on the cultural and political characteristics of new audiences, and explores ways to construct /reconstruct alternative audiences based on Jacques Ranciere's discussion. In conclusion, the characteristics and contents of the utopian and dystopian moments of the transmedia audience were examined, and the necessary works for realizing the former were identified.

Fictional narrative animation shares the audience's immersive method with the narrative content and Virtual Reality, since animation has the character which narrates itself with the visual image format (including sound) and added the fact that 3D format which emphasizes realism compared with the recent 2D animation has been ubiquitous phenomenon. In other words, the artistic for called 'animation' is located between the view point that text has the immersive point intrinsic and oppositely, specific function of the certain media which stays extrinsic of the text enforce the participants into the immersion. In any case, the subject who experience immersion is the audience, so the most useful theory to research the phenomenon 'immersion' is Constructivism cognitive narrotologic approach which lies the peader-spectator as the centric notion and is more useful than text analysis or research on the visual effects. • This study aims to suggest an environment in which audience can play the role of micro-influencers after exploring the factors of satisfaction focusing on audiences who attended the Seoul Dance Film Festival(SeDaFF). In order to meet the research goal, among the audiences who attended SeDaFF, articles mentioning this festival on their SNS were collected and this data was analyzed using the LDA topic model. As a result, the most important satisfaction factor when visiting a dance film festival was the program. It might seem cliché to discuss the importance of programs at film festivals, but through the examination, this study made the case that if the satisfaction factor is met, it is still possible to influence the behavioral intentions and reinforcing the role of a micro-influencer even in a genre with a strong artistic nature and a limit to audience development. Furthermore, this study was intended to contribute to broadening the scope of research on the audience.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out what kind of media perception can be experienced by the audience when artificial intelligence technology meets art, where new technologies are invented one after another. Among the artificial intelligence works, I selected works that stand out in relation to perception and investigated what kind of media perception the audience experiences when artificial intelligence technology meets art. By examining the characteristics of machine hallucinations, uncanny, and artificial empathy with the media perception of artificial intelligence art, these perceptions were ultimately identified as aura perception within family resemblance. In the future, artificial intelligence technology will develop further and artists will not stop experimenting with them. It is expected that the works created by artists will expand the audience's perceptual experience while providing new experiences to the audience.

  • This paper confirmed the roles of images of performance arts, through an analysis of the performance arts realizing media augmented reality, and proceeded audience studies through t-test for verifying the results. As a result, the images used for the performance arts interacted with the audiences through mixing of media, and led to satisfaction for the performance through strong flow and understanding. For some parts, however, an indiscreet use of images caused audiences, who are still familiar with traditional performance arts, to react exclusively toward the media. Eventually, at this time trying new change, convergence media performance arts with images need to orchestrate performance arts and media, so that multiple audiences can easily understand and enjoy, and make an effort to let the audiences get satisfaction based on various experiences.
