  • The major subjects of this experiment are to evaluate the mechanical properties of the curing gum for prevention of vibration and to study for related problems. In the prevention of vibration by the curing gum, the results are as follows. When the value of forced frequency over natural frequency is less than $\sqrt{2}$, it may well be used that the value$(1\%-2\%,\;4\%-5\%)$ of damping coefficient over critical damping coefficient of the curing gum is large. When the value of forced frequency over natural frequency is larger than $\sqrt{2}$, it may well be used that the value $(2.5\%-3.5\%)$ of the curing gum is low. If the larger value of logarithmic decrement may be used, the low curing gum is preferred. The conductive range of sulphur contents of the curing gum is $3.3\%-3.5\%$ in the light of phase angle, resilience, and damping coefficient over critical damping coefficient.

  • E-reviews, electronic reviews, are generally perceived as trustworthy and credible by the consumers, because it is based on the experiences of other consumers who are independent of the marketers. Therefore, consumers may rely more on the review information as an important cue than direct experience or advertising. This paper explored the structural equation model to investigate the relationships among search motives of e-reviews, attributes of e-review, trust, and purchase intention for cosmetics. A self-questionnaire was developed based on previous researches. Data were collected from 300 female university students experienced purchasing cosmetics at the Internet and were analyzed by AMOS 20.0. Results showed that e-review attributes consisted of three factors: expertise/visuality, quality/functionality and advertising/design. Utilitarian and hedonic search motives were significantly related to expertise/ visuality attributes of e-review and then influenced the purchase intention for cosmetics, mediated by the trust of e-review. However, quality/functionality attributes related by utilitarian motive did not have a significant effect to trust of e-review and purchase intention for cosmetics. Regardless of search motives and trust of e-review, advertising/design attributes of e-review directly related to purchase intention of cosmetics. As predicted, the trust of e-review was an important mediated variable to stimulate the purchase intention of cosmetics at internet. The implications of findings for research and practice are discussed.

  • With the continuously increasing volume of e-commerce transactions, it is now popular to buy some products and to evaluate them on the World Wide Web. The product reviews are very useful to customers because they can make better decisions based on the indirect experiences obtainable through these reviews. However, since online shopping malls do not provide ranking results, it is not easy for users to read all the relevant review documents effectively. Product reviews include subjective and emotional opinions. Thus, the review search is different from the general web search in terms of ranking strategy. In this paper, we propose an effective method of ranking the reviews that can reflect user's intention by using opinion mining techniques. The proposed method analyzes product reviews with query words, and sentimental polarity of subjective opinions. Through diverse experiments, we show that our proposed method outperforms conventional ones.

  • Since the early age of computer graphics, facial animation has been applied to various fields, and nowadays it has found several novel applications such as virtual reality(for representing virtual agents), teleconference, and man-machine interface. When we want to apply facial animation to the system with multiple participants connected via network, it is hard to animate facial expression as we desire in real-time because of the size of information to maintain an efficient communication. This paper's major contribution is to adapt 'Level-of-Detail'to the facial animation in order to solve the above problem.Level-of-Detail has been studied in the field of computer graphics to reperesent the appearance of complicated objects in efficient and adaptive way, but until now no attempt has mode in the field of facial animation. In this paper, we present a systematic scheme which enables this kind of adaptive control using Level-of-Detail.The implemented system can generate speech synchronized facial expressions with various types of user input such as text, voice, GUI, head motion, etc.

  • Settlement, recruitment, growth and production of Mactra venerifomis were investigated at Kunsan tidal flat located in the west coast of Korea from lune 1993 to May 1994. High density of planktonic larvae of M. veneriformis was observed between the mid and early July in 1993. The size of the newly settled larvae ranged from 250 to 350um in shell length with mean density of 601$inds.\cdot m^{-3}$. Recruitment of M. veneriformis larvae was occurred mainly in the mid June to mid July 1993. The larvae have no substratum preference during the larval settlement phase. Mortality of larval was affected by environment (substratum, exposure time, density of adult clams). After settlement they grew until November, and stopped growing in winter from December. The estimated turnover rate of M. veneriformis larvae was estimated as high as 4.91 and 4.94. Annual production of the 0-age group was estimated to be 2,900g $m^{-2}\;\cdot\;yr^{-l}$, which was relatively high compared with those of other age groups.

  • Doam Bay is an estuary where harmful algal blooms (HABs) such as red tides develop frequently in summer. The bay also is influenced by freshwater inflow from Tamjin River in upper regions as well as from an artificial lake in lower regions. Phytoplankton size and species composition were investigated at six stations located in the lower regions in April, June and July, 2007. Physical properties (temperature, salinity and SS) were intensively measured for 3 days (5 occasions) after the freshwater discharges from the dike. The freshwater discharge affected temperature, salinity and turbidity in the study sites adjacent to the freshwater lake. Phytoplankton biomass was larger in April than June and it increased more in July. An explicit shift of species composition was observed. Diatoms were dominant in April and June (>70%) whereas their abundances greatly decreased and chlorophytes increased in July. Pseudo-nitzschia sp. was dominant at all stations (except St. 2) and this change was also detected in ecological indices such as diversity and dominance index.
