Development Convergence Education Program for Elementary and Middle School Using Design (디자인을 활용한 초‧중등 융합교육 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop students' creativity and artistic sensitivity by developing a convergence education program that links various subjects, including mathematics, science, and art based on design. Design is done in almost every human activity that pursues beauty and implements cultural value through patterns and images. We have developed three programs for elementary school students and two programs for middle school students, taking into consideration the achievement standards and curriculum content appropriate for the 2015 revised curriculum. It was assessed by a panel of five educational experts during the development and demonstration courses to evaluate the feasibility of the development program. The development program can enhance the design literacy and design sense of elementary and junior high school students and can be used convergent educational contents that can be applied in the free-semester system activities of junior high school. Through this program, adolescents who will lead the future design society will be able to acquire the sense of design, literacy, and design ability as design consumers and producers.

The Effects of Background Knowledge and Prior-Examples in Creative Problem Solving (창의적 아이디어 산출에 대한 배경지식과 사례의 영향)

  • Three experiments were conducted to investigate whether different types (common vs. uncommon) of prior-examples entail different effects in creative problem solving, and whether types/levels (rich or lean. common or uncommon) of background knowledge interact with types of prior-examples. It was found that the example types and the types/levels of background knowledge do interact and have some differential effects on generating novel and useful ideas. In Experiment 1 and 2. uncommon examples had a positive effect - generating many novel and useful ideas. regardless of background knowledge types. while common examples had positive effects, only when the background knowledge was somewhat uncommon In Experiment 3 it was also found that types (irrelevant,. single common. single uncommon, or multiple common + uncommon) of background knowledge seemed to influence differently on the ease of finding solutions: when background knowledge is diverse or not directly related to the task problem, uncommon prior examples produced much greater number of novel ideas than it was with single common or sin91e uncommon background knowledge. Implications of the present study were discussed. in relation to mental sets and fixation.

  • 인류가 수렵생활에서 농경문화로 정착됨에 따라, 물을 손쉽게 이용할 수 있는 하천이나 호소의 수변공간을 활용하여 고대문명이 형성되어 왔다. 이와 같은 고대문명이 근대 산업화에 의한 새로 운 문명으로 이어지면서, 종래의 하천이나 호소의 수변공간을 이용한 생활과 문화로부터 대외지향적인 해안공간을 중심으로, 그것이 확장되기에 이르렀다. 특히, 최근의 세계화에 수반되어 많은 국가들이 대외지향의 편리성 도모를 위하여, 일종의 제2의 도시국가형태의 문화가 이루어지면서, 새로운 형태의 문명이 태동하고 있는 듯하다. 이와 같은 배경에서, 우리나라는 저 출산 고령화 사회라고 하는 새로운 조류가 긴박하게 진전되고, 도시화율이 90%, GDP의 대외 의존도가 80%에 육박하고 있는 등으로, 고도의 수변공간을 활용하는 세계 유수의 도시국가의 형태로 이행되고 있는 듯하다. 그러므로 종래의 하천 호소 해안 등의 수변공간의 이용을 위하여 발전시켜온 하천공학이나 해안 항만공학만으로서는 이러한 변화에 대응하가가 미흡하고, 더욱이, 20세기후반으로부터 시작된 환경적요인의 도입에는 아직까지 혼란이 야기되고 있어, 새로이 형성시켜가야 할 수변문화의 효율성제고의 도구로서의 새로운 공학의 발전이 모색되어야한다. 이는 수변공간의 이용 안전 환경이라고 하는 큰 틀로서의 문화 문명을 만들어 갈수 있는 공학이어야 할 것이다. 기존의 수공학 위주의 공학개념에서 종합공학 또는 공학종합의 학문으로서 인문사회, 첨단과학기술까지의 대융합을 고려한, 장소나 공간이라고 하는 "것(물(物))"의 디자인뿐만 아니라 장면, 상황, 규칙 만들기라고 하는 "일(사(事))"의 디자인까지도 포함되는 공학의 새로운 모델을 제시한다. 주요내용으로서는, 새로운 수면문화조성을 촉진하여, 지속가능한 인류문명이 유지 될 수 있도록 지금까지의 터 무늬 또는 자취를 최대한 살리면서, 최근의 하천 해안을 중심으로 한 외부의존형 대도시권형의 국토이용에서, 지식산업단지 생산녹지 등을 최대한 아우를 수 있는 소위 글로발형의 국토이용을 촉진할 수 있는 수변문화공학의 모델을 제안한다.

Content Analysis of Food & Nutrition Section in Middle School Textbooks -Home Economics, Physical Education and Science- (중학교 교과서 식생활 내용분석 -가정, 체육, 과학을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was quantitative and qualitative contents analysis of food and nutrition section in middle school textbooks of home economics, physical education and science. As a quantitative approach numbers of sentence lines tables, figures, photos, activities, and exercises were counted. As a qualitative approach, types of explanations were categorized by 7 criteria, and commons and differences of the contents of those subjects were compared. The conclusions of this study were summarized as follows: 1) Contents of food and nutrition section were divided into nutrients. water. energy, food groups, and nutritional problems. When average sentence lines of each were compared, those of nutrients were the longest in all 3 subjects. 2) When compared the numbers of tables, figures, and photos in 3 subjects of textbooks, there were more figures in home economics and science, and more tables in physical education. 3) There were more activities and exercises in home economics an science than in physical education. 4) The D(sentences with table) or E type(sentences with figure) was adapted for the explanation of nutrients functions, recommended dietary allowance, food sources, food groups, eating habits, and weight control in home economics: nutritions functions and energy metabolism in physical education : and digestion, body constituents, energy metabolism, and detection of nutrients in science. 5) Contents about classification and functions of nutrients. food sources deficiency water, energy contents of nutrients and obesity were shown in all 3 subjects. Food groups and eating habits were explained in detail in home economics whereas digestion of nutrients in the digestive tracts were explained in detail in science. Recommended dietary allowance for Koreans and basic food groups revised in 1995 were presented in home economics, whereas those revised in 1989 were presented in physical education. To avoid confusion, recommended dietary allowance for Koreans and food groups presented in physical education tex should be updated.

  • School is a place to be done the education of Disaster Prevention and to be established the function of Disaster Prevention and seismic performance to secure the safety of children as well as emergency evacuation facilities for local communities in case of disaster. To improve the ability of Earthquake Disaster Prevention for students and teachers schools have to put the Earthquake Disaster Prevention on the subjects, for an example ethics, social study, science and gym and make a plan to efficiently manage school disaster prevention facilities. Seismic retrofitting on school facilities have to be established with the method of construction for steel bracings and seismic shear walls choosing old architectures first which is not the design with the seismic performance considering educational environmental aspects, and reconstruction of old architectures to get the agreement of societies. Furthermore, there is great demand for the effective, efficient and systematic improvement of school facilities for the use of shelters to be disaster prevention facilities.

An Analysis on Understanding of Gifted Students in Elementary Mathematics about Situations and Concepts of Multiplication (초등수학영재의 곱셈 상황에 따른 개념 이해 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate gifted students in elementary mathematics how they understand of situations involving multiplication and concepts of multiplication. For this purpose, first, this study analyzed the teacher's guidebooks about introducing the concept of multiplication in elementary school. Second, we analyzed multiplication problems that gifted students posed. Third, we interviewed gifted students to research how they understand the concepts of multiplication. The result of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the concept of multiplication was introduced by repeated addition and times idea in elementary school. Since the 2007 revised curriculum, it was introduced based on times idea. Second, gifted students mainly posed situations of repeated addition. Also many gifted students understand the multiplication as only repeated addition and have poor understanding about times idea and pairs set.

  • So far there have been intermittently quantitative and syntactic analyses of the past elementary mathematics curriculums to comprehend elementary mathematics education in Korea. However, we think we also need qualitative and semantic analyses to comprehend and examine the past elementary mathematics curriculums exactly and so to look out on our future elementary mathematics education. Generally, school mathematics curriculum reflects both the philosophical aspects of mathematics itself that form the background of the philosophy of mathematics education and the sociological aspects in real mathematics class that could be the output of the curriculum. With this view, the logic of the social constructivism can be an appropriate way that leads mathematical philosophical analysis and sociological analysis in mathematics education. With this kind of method of analysis we got the results that: the past Korean elementary mathematics curriculums mainly have the tendency from the ideology of the progressive educator(the 1st) to of the technological pragmatist(the 2nd), from that of the old humanist(the 3rd and 4th) to the progressive educator(the 5th and 6th) again, and lastly that of social constructivism(the 7th).

Adoption of Wetland Education as a Part of the Formal School Curriculum: Their Research Trends and Topics (습지교육의 정규교과 채택: 연구동향과 연구주제)

  • To answer whether it is proper to adopt wetland education as a part of the formal school curriculum, this study analyzed research trends and topics on wetland education and identified cases of adopting wetland education as a part of the formal school curriculum. Analyzing trends and topics on wetlands resulted in a recent shift of the focus of wetland education from the awareness and attitude towards wetlands to the ecological functions and ecosystem services that wetlands provide. In 2002, 18 Contracting Parties of the Ramsar Convention had adopted wetland education in the formal school curriculum. As of August 2020, the number has increased up to 42 countries. The globally increased awareness on the importance of wetlands seems to have led the positive change. Most of the cases analyzed and reflected in this study showed that the curricula were designed and applied not nationally but locally or school basis for efficiency.

  • This objective of this study is to thoroughly analyze the policies of international organizations and major advanced countries relevant to the realization of Green port To construct Green ports, there first must be competition to build such ports in sustainable, fixed quantities. Second, there is a great need for cooperation and support networks made binding by mutual agreements on ship recycling. Third, there is a need for scientific research on responses to changes in environmental regulations and on environmental issues. Today, the majority of the world's ports use gasoline or electric energy, and improving capacities for self-sufficiency through development of new and renewable energy is judged to be a pressing task. The conditions for an eco-friendly port is that it must be an important center for economic and industrial activity, and valuable as a site where people live and work, with residences and work places existing in close proximity.
