It is well known that low body mass index and younger age are associated with high breast density. Mammographic dense breast has been reported both as a cause of false-negative findings on mammography and as an indicator of increased breast cancer risk. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between breast density and body mass index. Furthermore, we considered proper screening method of breast cancer in Korean women. The study was performed on 496 women who underwent health checkup in a university hospital. Age and body mass index were negatively associated with breast density respectively. In postmenopausal women, age and body mass index showed statistically significant association with breast density. Therefore, we should consider sensitive additional method for breast cancer screening especially in younger age and underweight women.

This study seeks the applicable value for contemporary multiculturalism based on the women (Hagar, Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, A great woman who lives in Shunem, A nameless servant girl) of the Old Testament who experienced migration. The article critiques uses of scripture that emphasize the roles of the women in the household. It provides a new interpretation through the perspective of feminist criticism, narrative criticism, and reader-response criticism. The article introduces the examples of six migrant women who created peace with people around them through their positive roles despite the fact that women had limited function under patriarchal society at that time. It suggests, while recognizing the difference regarding race, gender, and class between migrants and non-migrants, women and men, that they should not be used as the tools of discrimination. Furthermore, through these women from the Bible, the reader may find role models of independent women who are working for peace and social justice.

The present study aimed the effects of power resistance training(PRT) on fitness, muscle mass and short physical performance battery(SPPB) elderly women. Thirty older woman(aged 70 over years) were divided in two groups : PRT(n=15) and traditional resistance training(TRT)(n=15). The volunteers trained three times a week, during 12weeks. Both groups performed an equal work output with load red color thera-band. Three sets of twelve repetitions of each exercise were performed with rest intervals of 60s between sets. According to the results. Main fitness were significantly difference in grip strength(TRT) and cardiopulmonary. Muscle was not significantly difference. And Timed up and go and 400m walking(TRT) were significantly difference. There is sufficient effects on between training method in fitness, SPPB but PRT training may yield better results compared with TRT.

'SMART Police' means collecting, analyzing and utilizing the police database such as crime statistics, reflecting 'strategic management', 'analysis and research', 'science technology' do. In recent years, the number of sex offenses has more than doubled based on the 'crime analysis' of the Supreme Prosecutors' In this trend, we started to build a sex crime prevention program for women 's relief special 3.0 which is suitable for regional characteristics. However, it was not enough for the women to have low publicity and utilization results, and to show the practical effect. In the future, we propose a crime prevention system which can safely take home safeguarding with autonomous driving car or drone by applying ICT to the future police system. Although it is difficult to operate autonomous vehicles and drones in the surrounding environment such as narrow alleys and power lines for application to this system, it is thought that the artificial intelligence technology can be sufficiently overcome to operate.

This study attempted to verify the influence of appearance satisfaction on interest in eye makeup and makeup care behavior in female consumers and provide basic data which are needed to plan marketing strategies and develop cosmetics in the cosmetics market. For this, a questionnaire survey was performed against adult women in their 20-50s from the capital region. A total of 399 copies were used for final analysis, and the results found the followings: First, differences were found in appearance satisfaction, interest in eye makeup and makeup care behavior by general characteristics. In other words, interest in eye makeup started with 'self-care', showing interest in chasing a trend. Second, concerning the effects of appearance satisfaction on interest in eye makeup, as the respondents were more satisfied with their facial contour, they were more interested in eye makeup. Third, in terms of the influence of appearance satisfaction on eye makeup care behavior, as they were more satisfied with their skin conditions, trend-setting makeup care behavior increased. Consequently, increase in appearance satisfaction enhanced interest in eye makeup, having an influence on makeup care behavior.

서울대 58년 역사상 첫여성 처장으로 임명됐던 노정혜 연구처장(생명과학부 교수)이 7월말로 2년간의 임기를 끝냈다. 노 처장은 지난해 우리 사회를 혼란스럽게 했던 황우석 박사의 줄기세포 논문조작 사건을 맡아 진실 규명에 중요한 일을 해낸 것으로 평가받고 있다. 당시 노 처장은 전국민을 대상으로 한 방송 생중계에서 차분한 어조와 절제된 표현, 힘 있는 발언으로 강한 인상을 남겼다. 또 서울대 자연대 수석 졸업, 20대 서울대 여교수 임용, 강금실(전법무부 장관), 김영란(대법관)과 고교 동기 등의 사실이 알려지면서 노 연구처장에 대한 개인적인 호기심을 불러일으키기도 했다. 정운찬 서울대 23대 총장의 이임식이 열리던 지난 7월 19일, 서울대 본부의 연구처장실에서 그를 만났다. 그는“과학자가 행정업무에 적합하지 않다는 것은 선입견일 뿐”이라며“과학자는 합리성을 갖고 있기 때문에 오히려 더 잘할 수 있다”고 밝혔다.

이 논문은 우리나라의 물리학, 화학, 생물학 분야의 과학자들을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 바탕으로 머튼이 과학자사회의 규범구조로 정식화한 네 가지 규범들-보편성, 공유성, 탈이해관계, 조직화된 회의-과 국가주의 가치관이 실제 과학자사회에서 어느정도 작동하고 있는지를 분석하였다. 전반적으로 응답자들은 한국 과학자사회에서 출신대학과 해외학위라는 귀속적 지위의 영향으로 보편성 규범이 제대로 작동하지 않는 것으로 평가했고, 여성의 경우 성의 영향도 큰 것으로 평가하고 있었다. 공유성과 탈이해관계 규범의 경우 한편으로 공유성과 탈이해관계라는 전통적인 규범이 그리고 다른 한편으로는 비밀주의와 연구주제 선정에 있어서 산업적 응용성과 국가적 필요를 강조하는 국가주의적 가치가 공존하고 있었다. 조직화된 회의 규범의 경우 특히 과학적 증거 이외의 다른 권위들에 대해 회의적인 태도를 견지해야 한다는 규범이 제대로 작동되지 않는다는 평가가 대다수였다. 과학자사회의 규범과 가치에 대한 평가는 각 과학자들의 연구환경에 따라 상이한 모습을 보여주는데 특히 젊은 세대의 과학자들이 보편성과 조직화된 회의 규범의 위반을 더 강도 있게 지적하는 반면 연구 주제의 선정에 있어서 탈이해관계 규범은 부정하는 경향을 보여주고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to compare the differences in national R&D research outcomes in science and technology according to gender. For this purpose, the analysis was conducted by mapping WoS SCI(E) papers from 1990to 2018 and NTIS R&D papers from 2007 t0 2016. As a result of examining the differences in research achievements in science and technology according to gender based on three bibliometic indicators - average Times cited, Time-lag, and Impact factor - we found that the overall topography of research achievement was still male-centered, and the differences in the main research area between male and female were also very prominent. On the other hand, in top 10 research areas, it was confirmed that female researchers' outcomes were higher in the number of Times cited and Impact factor.

This study examined community-centered informatization education support measures for empowerment of women with disabilities based on gender perspective.First, the 'Digital Information Gap Survey' conducted by the Ministry of Science and ICT used the 2018 'Digital Information Gap Survey' to find out the current status of the digital information gap between male and female handicapped people. The law on information education support for women with disabilities is presented.Lastly, based on the current status of informatization education support available to women with disabilities, centered on local communities, such as establishing a comprehensive women's disability support center, visiting education considering disability types, developing and supporting customized informatization education considering learning ability, and discovering community resources related to informatization. In this paper, we propose a plan to support informatization education for women with disabilities based on capacity building.

This study is focused on defining what is their career goals and the standard to set up the goals as an individual married immigrant women. Marriage immigrant women are expected to have higher difficult than Korean women do in reality, so the research will figure out what career goal marriage immigrant women have to achieve the goal. As the results, the data has been collected from seven of the married immigrant women through in-depth interview, the conclusion is as followed: First, career goal for married immigrant women turns out self-reliance and valuable life. Career is used in wide spread range including a job, and their career goal is for being a self-employed, a travel guide, an english teacher, and a regular worker. They have various goal for valuable life to feel that their living is better than monetary stuff, to have a healing tour through music, and to exchange with foreign scholars and train junior scholars. They hope they can be confident as a part of the Korean society and be able to help others and to see themselves as valued to live a life.
