  • 코로나 팬데믹으로 세계가 큰 피해를 보고 있다. 기존 얼굴인식 보안시스템이 마스크 사용자 인식이 어려워 마스크 사용자를 인식할 수 있는 방안이 필요하다. 얼굴인식을 위한 영상처리 기술이 딥러닝에 의해 크게 발전하고 있으며, 여전히 전처리 기술 또한 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 영상처리 기술의 선명도 평가 함수와 YOLOv5를 사용해 학습 재학습 이후 변화하는 성능을 확인하였고, 비마스크 사용 시 분류정확도가 1%, 학습 손실률에서 0.2% 정도의 성능 개선을 확인하였다.

A Study on Innovation Plan of Archives' Recording Service using Social Media: Focused on Gyeongnam Archives and Seoul Metropolitan Archives (소셜미디어를 이용한 기록관리기관의 기록서비스 혁신 방안 연구: 경남기록원과 서울기록원을 중심으로)

  • Today, most archives provide recording services through social media; however, their effectiveness is very low. This study aimed to analyze the causes of insufficient social media recording service, focusing on Gyeongnam Archives and Seoul Metropolitan Archives, which are permanent records management institutions and local government archives, and design ways to create synergy by mutual growth with classical recording service. Through literature research, the characteristics and mechanisms of each social medium were identified, and the institutions' current status of social media operations and internal documents were reviewed to analyze the common problems. An in-depth analysis was conducted by interviewing the person in charge of recording services at each institution. In addition, a plan that can be applied to archives was proposed by reviewing the cases of social media operations of domestic-related institutions and overseas archives. Based on this, a new recording service process was established, strategic operation plans for each social medium were proposed, and a plan to mutually grow with the existing recording service was designed.

TMCS : Tangible Media Control System (감각형 미디어 제어 시스템)

  • We propose Tangible Media Control System (TMCS), which allows users to manipulate media contents with physical objects in an intuitive way. Currently, most people access digital media contents by exploiting GUI. However, It provides limited manipulations of the media contents. The proposed system, instead of mouse and keyboard, adopts two types of tangible objects, i.e RFID-enabled object and tracker-embedded object. The TMCS enables users to easily access and control digital media contents with the tangible objects. In addition, it supports an interactive media controller which users can synthesize media contents and generate new media contents according to users' taste. It also offers personalized contents, which is suitable for users' preferences, by exploiting context such as user's profile and situational information. Therefore. the proposed system can be applied to various interactive applications such as multimedia education, entertainment and multimedia editor.

  • In this paper, we implement a viewer program that can monitor effectively using omni-directional images. The program consists of four modes: Normal mode, ROI(Region of Interest) mode, Tracking mode, and Auto-rotation mode, and the results for each mode is displayed simultaneously. In the normal mode, the wide angle image is rendered as a spherical image to enable pan, tilt, and zoom. In ROI mode, the area is displayed expanded by selecting an area. And, in Auto-rotation mode, it is possible to track the object by mapping the position of the object with the rotation angle of the spherical image to prevent the object from deviating from the spherical image in Tracking mode. Parallel programming for processing of multiple modes is performed to improve the processing speed. This has the advantage that various angles can be seen compared with surveillance system having a limited angle of view.

  • 본 논문에서는 대한민국 국토에 대한 토지피복지도를 인공위성 영상으로부터 생성하는 기술을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 먼저 합성곱 신경망을 이용하여 인공위성 영상의 각 패치를 4 종류의 토지 용도로 분류한다. 이후 인공위성 영상과 토지 용도 분류 결과를 조건부 랜덤 필드에 적용하여 픽셀 단위로 색상과 질감이 유사한 영역을 같은 토지 용도로 분류될 수 있도록 하여 정확한 토지피복지도를 생성한다. 현재 대한민국 국토에 대한 토지피복지도 생성을 위해 구축된 데이터 세트가 없기 때문에 본 연구에서는 합성곱 신경망 학습을 위한 데이터 세트를 직접 구축하였다. 이를 위해 환경공간정보 서비스 웹사이트로부터 인공위성 영상을 취득하고, 각 영상을 패치 단위로 나누어 토지 용도를 직접 분류하였다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안하는 토지 용도 분류 합성곱 신경망의 성능을 평가하였으며, 최종 생성된 토지피복지도는 제안하는 방법이 효과적으로 토지 용도를 분류할 수 있음을 나타낸다.

  • In this paper, we introduce our experience for designing and implementing a media manager in the Integrated Streaming Service Architecture (ISSA) developed by the authors. The media manager is regarded as a necessary module in the ISSA framework for the following reasons. It realizes that from which locations of the media source devices, the media streams are coming. Once it knows where the origin is, the media manager should recognizes what types of stream are. After that, it performs how to chose an appropriate CODEC to handle the recognized input streams efficiently, and what type of media playback device should be selected. In order to do such a job efficiently, the proposed media manager consists of two modules source module and sink module. The major role of a media source module is to make an abstraction for the media streams that are coming from various types of media device. This, in consequence, enables a media manager to consistently handle tlle media streams without considering wherever they come from. On the other hand, the media sink module distributes the input streams to an appropriate media device to playback. One of the remarkable virtues of the proposed media manager is an ability to supporting high value-added database services since it provides an interface between the ISSA and real-time multimedia database. Also, it provides the RTP!RTSP source filter and Winamp gateway modules which allow the flexibility to the system. Moreover, the media manager can adopt any types of new media which in fact will provide scalability to the ISSA.

Uses of Science Fiction Movie Education Materials for the Middle School Female Students to Enhance Their Interests in Science (여학생의 과학에 대한 관심 고취를 위한 공상과학영화 교육매체의 활용)

  • These days effective science education programs are required for girls to encourage them to pursue their career in science and engineering areas. This paper presents the preliminary results of an analysis performed to measure the effectiveness of a middle school education program, in which a science fiction movie as a multimedia educational material is shown to students and afterward discussion and review process for the scientific subjects included in the movie are given to them. The analysis is based on a study of students' responses on surveys performed after showing the science fiction movies during a science camp and a regular school class. The survey results of female students are compared with those of male students. The results indicate that the education program using science fiction movies could be more effective to female students than to male students in motivating and enhancing their interest in scientific subjects. A preliminary guide and afterward review and discussion on the scientific contents dealt in the movie turned out to be helpful to enhance the effectiveness of this science education program.

  • In multimedia database system, it is very important issue how to query multimedia data and present the result of query. Also, in order to reuse the query result in other applications, multimedia database system must be considered to provide the query result which is more generalized form. In this paper, I propose a presentation model for presenting query result in multimedia database system and MMSQL based on the developed model for processing multimedia database query. This paper includes the design and implementation of MMSQL query processor. MMSQL query processor provides the presentation of query result which is SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) document. Therefore, MMSQL query result in this paper can be use to variant multimedia applications.

Bookmark for Multimedia Content Having Multiple Variations (변형을 갖는 멀티미디어 콘텐트에 대한 북마크)

  • Since multimedia content is often independently encoded into multiple variations having diverse bandwidths, resolutions and compression formats, the same segment might be stored at different temporal positions within the variations. In this paper, we present a durable multimedia bookmark mechanism which provides a convenient way of switching to any variation before or during playback of the multimedia content, without experiencing temporal discontinuity or overlapping a portion of the content. We also present a new multimedia bookmark player with which users can manage a personal collection of bookmarks with an intuitive visual interface.

A New Multimedia Courseware System for Learning Contemplation-Complement Course (심화ㆍ보충 수업을 위한 새로운 멀티미디어 코스웨어 시스템)

  • 본 연구는 멀티미디어를 활용한 웹 기반 코스웨어의 개발로서 첫째, 7차 교육 과정 9학년 과학 교과의 '생식과 발생' 단원을 선정하여 기된 과정의 내용을 철저히 분석하고 심화ㆍ보충 과정과 관련된 자료를 추출하였으며, 둘째, 멀티미디어 기반의 코스웨어가 구동될 수 있는 서버 환경을 구축하였고, 세째 멀티미디어 기반의 웹 코스웨어를 제작하고 구현하였다. 네째. 구현된 코스웨어를 교실 환경에 투입하고 교사와 학생의 반응을 조사하는 순으로 수행하였다. 코스웨어 설계의 기본 방향은 기된 과정의 학습 내용을 학습자 중심의 학습이 되도록 주제별로 적절히 재구성하고 심화ㆍ보충 과정에 해당하는 부분의 내용을 추출하여 학습자가 학습 동기를 향상시킬 수 있는 다양한 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 학습자와의 상호작용을 할 수 있도록 CGI를 활용하여 구현하였다. 코스웨어의 기본 구조는 기본학습(내용 항목), 학습평가, 학습 자료실, 보충 학습, 심화 학습, 교과서를 넘어서, 유용한 사이트 등으로 구성이 되어 있다. 교사용 검사지는 주로 일반 사항, 수업 설계 측면에서 추출하여 사용하였고, 학생용 검사지는 일반 사항과 기술적 측면에서 추출하여 사용하였다. 설문지 조사 결과 대부분의 항목에서 보통이상의 점수를 얻음으로써 개발된 코스웨어의 필요성 및 유용성이 입증이 되었고 앞으로도 더 많은 멀티미디어를 포함한 웹 기반의 코스웨어가 개발되어 학교 현장에 투임 되어야 한다는 것을 시사한다.
