최근 들어 공항운영에도 마케팅개념을 도입해야 한다고 주장하는 경우를 자주 볼 수 있다. 항공 운송산업 초기에서부터 1970년대까지 공항운영은 안전성확보에 초점이 맞추어져 있었다. 1980년대 이후 항공운송산업의 규제완화와 항공수요 급증에 의한 공항 혼잡화 문제가 대두되면서 공항 운영에도 효율성과 수익성을 강조하게 되었고 일반기업 경영에서 개발한 운영 기법을 공항운영에 도입하게 되었다. 이러한 추세는 당연히 공항운영에 마케팅 개념도입을 고려하게 된 것이다. 그러나 아직도 공항마케팅에 대한 체계적 고찰이 이루어진 적이 없어 본 연구는 공항 마케팅에 관한 일반적 고찰을 목적으로 수행하게 되었다. 본 연구는 공항운영에 있어서 마케팅 개념이 도입되게 된 배경과 공항 마케팅의 특성 등을 고찰해보고 공항운영에서 마케팅 개념을 어떻게 실현 할 수 있는지를 파악하는 것을 구체적 목적으로 했다. 우선은 공항운영에 있어서의 마케팅 개념 도입 배경을 살펴보고, 공항마케팅의 특성을 고찰한 후, 공항마케팅이 처하게되는 환경과 공항마케팅의 목표를 분석했다. 논의된 환경 하에서 마케팅 목표실현을 위해 어떠한 방법으로 마케팅 부서를 조직하고 어떤 업무를 수행하는지를 선진국 공항의 예를 들어 정리하고, 공항마케팅의 주요 대상인 항공사와 여객에 대한 공항의 마케팅 활동 방법을 분석함으로써 본 연구의 목적을 달성하도록 했다.

고도화ㆍ정보화가 요구되어지는 현대 산업사회는 교통에 있어서도 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 특히, 항공교통 수요의 급속한 증가와 함께 현재 신 공항건설 및 공항확장 둥이 이루어져야 하는 실정이다(건설교통부 항공국, 2001). 이로 인해 항공기상정보의 신속화 및 전문화가 이루어짐과 동시에 신 공항 건설 전ㆍ후에 따른 대기환경 측면에서의 변화를 반드시 살펴보아야 한다. 따라서, 본 연구는 후자와 관련하여 인천국제공항 건설 후 안개발생에 초점을 맞추어 대기환경변화를 살펴보았다. (중략)

미국의 항공운송산업 규제완화법(Airline Deregulation Act of 1978)에 의한 미국의 항공운송산업 자유화 정책은 미국의 국내 항공운송 시장의 환경을 철저한 경쟁의 원리가 적용되는 자유경쟁 시장으로 변화시켰으며, 국제 항공운송 시장에도 자유경쟁의 원리가 점진적으로 도입되는 계기를 마련하였다. 항공운송산업 자유화 정책은 항공사의 운송 시장 환경뿐만 아니라 그들이 이용하는 공항의 경제 환경에도 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 자유화가 공항의 경제에 미친 영향을 연구하기 위하여, 자유화 이후 공항에서 시장 합리화 (Market Rationalization)의 원리가 적용 되었는 가를 조사하였다. 이를 위해 (1) 자유화 이후, 공항료(Airport Rates and Charges)와 공항에서의 활동량 (the Volume of Activity) 간에 유의한 상관 관계가 존재하는 가의 여부 (2) 자유화 이전과 이후를 비교할 때, 각 Hub Class별 공항료의 수준에 있어 유의한 변화가 있는 가의 여부에 대한 통계 분석을 실시하였다. 상관분석의 결과, 자유화 이후, 공항료와 공항에서의 활동량 간에 유의한 상관 관계가 존재한다는 결론을 채택하는 데 실패하였으며 또한 일원 분산 분석의 결과, 자유화 이전과 이후를 비교할 때, 각 Hub Class별 공항료의 수준에 있어 유의한 변화가 있다는 결론을 제시할 수 없었다. 미국의 항공운송산업 자유화 정책이 미국 공항 경제에 미친 영향에 대한 본 연구는 현재 경제규제완화를 실험하고 있는 우리의 경제 정책에 좋은 참고자료가 되기를 기대한다.

This study measured the environmental efficiency of 21 international airports based on sustainability reports issued by each airport for 2018. As many sectors in the industry paid attention to social and environmental responsibilities, airport operators comprise one of the leading sectors that streamlined their facilities to become increasingly sustainable and environmental. Nevertheless, studies on the environmental operations of airports are insufficient compared with studies on economic or operational efficiency. Therefore, the current study aims to determine any possible improvement in the environmental inefficiency of airports with the utilization of directional distance function (DDF) and to examine operational efficiency with the application of the data envelopment analysis (DEA). The majority of airports have operated their facilities efficiently, but not all have effectively managed pollutants generated by airports. Furthermore, many airports can still potentially reduce CO₂ and water consumption. This study suggests several implementable environmental improvements to the aviation sector. Moreover, other industrial sectors may use the research as a benchmark for enhancing environmental efficiency.

인천국제공항 지역에 대해 건설이후의 공항의 특성상 안개발생과 관련하여 대기환경의 변화 및 특성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 새벽시간대와 일사가 강하게 주어지는 오후시간대를 살펴보았을때 일교차가 6$^{\circ}C$를 나타내었다.

공항서비스 질에 대한 이용객의 인식이 전반적인 공항이용의 매력도와 직결되므로 그 중요성이 점점 커지고 있다. 반면 현 제주국제공항은 활주로의 수용능력도 부족 할 뿐만 아니라 여객 터미널의 수용 능력, 운항 횟수 20만 초과 할 것으로 예상하고 있다. 또한 2011년 11월 11월 NEW7WONDERS에서 7대 자연경관으로 선정됨으로서 세계화, 개방화 그리고 관광객 증가에 따른 항공 수요 증가 추세이다. 공항산업이 빠르게 변화하고 있고 제주지역 발전 속도에 따른 장래 항공수요를 감안하여 제주국제공항의 시설에 대한 기대수준과 만족수준을 측정해야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 공항의 독특한 서비스 환경에 대한 공항이용객들의 기대 역할 실증연구를 통해 기대와 만족간의 차이분석 연구를 하는데 목적이 있다. 제주국제공항 이용객들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 이용객들이 기대하는 공항서비스 품질은 무엇인지를 분석하였다. 향후 공항서비스 품질관리에 관한 개선사항을 제시할 수 있는 기초자료로 활용되고자 한다.

Recently Following changes in the airport industry, this study aims to investigate the relationship between physical servicescape elements, a travelers' enjoyment and/or anxiety, and traveler satisfaction in the airport environment context. Six airport service scape factorsd design, scent, functional organization, air/lighting conditions, seating, and cleanlinessd should be considered when evaluating traveler response. airport design features and pleasant scent have a positive influence on traveler enjoyment, generating satisfaction. This study also provides valuable implications for airport design, organization and development. By combining previous research on servicescapes and airport design, this study confirms the significance of servicescape attributes in transit service settings in Inchon international airport. The results of this study may help airport industry practitioners understand the airport environment from a passenger's perspective.

This study analyzed the repeated causes of policy failure focusing on Yangyang International Airport cases. Yangyang International Airport, which opened in 2002, was built with about 360 billion won, but it is considered as a representative example of policy failure of local airports. According to the policy failure theory, the failure factors of Yangyang International Airport are anlyzed by rationalistic, political, and environmental complexity viewpoint. The results are as follows. First, from a rationalist point of view, Yangyang Airport failed to achieve the policy goal of securing passengers and revitalizing local economy, This is due to the pressure of politics and the lack of geographical infrastructure. Second, the failure of the stakeholders to resolve conflicts in the flow of politics can be seen as the conflict between the airline and the airport, and the failure to reconcile conflicts between the government and the airports on the low cost airline permits and subsidies. Third, from the viewpoint of environmental complexity, Yangyang International Airport can be regarded as a failure to adapt to environmental changes such as the opening of nearby expressways and railway lines, and the sharp decline of Chinese tourists. This study sugeests the establishment of an independent organization that can prevent unreasonable business promotion by politics in the case of large scale national projects, the linkage with the surrounding infrastructure and related businesses in the case of transportation facilities such as airports and railways, and institutionalization of cooperative governance for coordinating conflict among stakeholders.

정부는 그동안 항공정책을 수립하고 시행함에 있어서 '항공운송'과 같은 경쟁력 있는 부문만을 특정하여 중장기적인 발전전략을 수립하여 온 것이 사실이다. 지방공항은 처음부터 물적, 인적 자원을 수송하는 규모나 주변 환경여건에 있어 국제공항을 따라갈 수 없는 일정한 한계를 가지고 있다. 지방공항의 적자문제를 국제공항의 목표치에 두는 것 자체가 이치에 맞지 않기 때문이다. 그러므로 지방공항은 국제공항과는 다른 관점의 항공 정책이 절대적으로 필요하다. 국가전체의 운송기능 향상을 위한 종합적인 대책도 지방 공항에 적용할 필요가 있지만 지방 공항 고유의 지방자치단체와의 협력을 통한 특색 있는 공항 역할을 재정립하는 것도 필요한 것이다. 한편 항공 스포츠의 역사는 60여년에 이르고 있으나 정부 관련기관의 관심 부족과 활성화 하려는 의지부족으로 여전히 침체되어 있는 것이 사실이다. 그런데 본 연구에서 항공 스포츠의 특징상 공항과의 연계성을 검토하여 보니 상당히 긍정적인 Win-Win 전략이 될 수 있을 뿐 아니라 지방공항과 항공 스포츠 양자가 실제 활성화될 수 있는 공항정책이 구체화될 수 있음을 알게 되었다. 다만 항공 스포츠에도 종목이 다양하므로 지방공항의 특성상 적정한 스포츠 항목과의 연계가 요구된다. 그리하여 본 연구는 항공 스포츠를 활용한 지방공항 활성화 방안으로 항공 스포츠에 적합한 지방공항 요건을 접근성, 안전성, 편의성으로 나누어 검토하고 지방공항과 접목 가능한 항공 스포츠를 제시하고자 하는 가설을 설정하였다. 더 나아가 항공 스포츠를 통한 지방공항 활성화의 기대효과로서 지방공항의 활성화, 지방연계산업의 활성화, 지방공항의 발전 가능성에 대한 가설을 설정하였다. 본 논문은 지방공항 활성화를 위한 전략체계를 항공스포츠 동호인 즉 조종자들의 기지선택 요인을 중심으로 실증분석을 통하여 정리하였고, 일반인들의 인식과 전문가 의견을 토대로 지방공항의 활성화를 위하여 항공스포츠와 전략적 제휴를 하고자 할 경우 관련기관들이 고려할 부분과 운영체계 개선방안을 제시함으로써 구체적인 정책적 제언이 될 수 있도록 하였다.
