The Influence of Public Library Book Curation Service Quality on the Continued Use Intention (공공도서관 북큐레이션 서비스 품질이 지속이용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study presents book curation services as one of the ways to establish the social role and status of public libraries in a changing social environment. It aims to identify the quality factors that influence user satisfaction and the intention to continue using public library book curation services. For this purpose, the quality factors were limited to information quality through a literature review on curation services in libraries and various fields, from which specific factors were extracted. A questionnaire survey and statistical analysis were then conducted among public library users. The results showed that among the information quality factors, variety and interestingness affect user satisfaction, while discoverability and usefulness impact both user satisfaction and the intention to continue using the services. Based on these findings, we suggest that public libraries should offer book curation services that allow users to discover new information and select themes that are engaging and interesting, and provide information about various genres and types of books.

A Study of e-Service Quality and User Satisfaction in Public Libraries (공공도서관의 e-서비스 품질평가와 이용자 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to identify key dimensions of e-service quality and explore their relations to user satisfaction at Public libraries. This research used a modified e-service quality model and surveyed Internet service users for measuring and assessing Internet users' service satisfaction at 'A' public library in Seoul region. Using an exploratory factor analysis. the study identified three factors, named Service Affect, Information Access, and Tangibles as key dimensions for public library e-service quality. Also it was found that users' satisfaction was strongly positively correlated to their intention to refer others to the service.

A Study on Measurement and Application of the Public Library Service Population (공공도서관의 봉사대상인구 산출 및 적용에 관한 연구)

  • In Korea, the term 'public library service population' is applied in various situations without academic discourse. This study analyzed concepts and applications of the term with literary reviews and case studies in United States, Australia, Japan, and Korea. And also this study redefined concepts and suggested new measurements of 'design population' and 'service population.' The former is the population who lives in area where public library can serve, and only demographic characteristics can be identified. It can be calculated based on the population of administrative district. In case of urban areas with a population of more than 100,000, it can be calculated the population within a radius of 2km from library. In areas with a population of less than 100,000 it can be calculated based on the population of Eup, Myeon, and Dong. In both cases the estimated population up to the library's opening year is added. Service population is used for the planning, evaluating, and promoting library services, and it can be defined as the actual users or estimated population determined by the input resources of the public libraries. It can be calculated by the number of enrolled members, or service participants, or target populations according to the size of input resources. The advantages of the proposal in this study are enabling efficient facility placement or resource inputs in public libraries and enhancing reliability of measuring output versus input. In addition, this study proposed to delete for paragraph 1 of Article 3 of the Library Act to avoid confusion.

A Study on the Effects of Quality of u-City Service on Customer Satisfaction in the Korea : Focusing on Public Services (한국의 u-City서비스 품질이 고객만족에 미치는 영향 : 공공서비스를 중심으로)

  • This paper aims to study the effects of quality of u-City public service on customer satisfaction in the Korea and is summarized as follows. First, we propose a model for assessing customer's satisfaction on u-City public services. The model comprises of information system (IS) quality, information quality, service quality and publicity. For verifying a model, a statistical study by SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 16.0 has been performed. Second, it is shown from the analysis that information system (IS) quality, information quality and publicity have a positive effect on customer satisfaction. while service quality does not. Last, the study shows that u-City public service enables any citizen to connect to necessary service in anytime and anywhere.

  • Children seem to be more familiar with getting information from computer and internet than adults, and also it is true that information behavior in the internet has strong influences in the living of the children. When considering this fact, the public library which is the gateway to knowledge should provide a website for children services, allowing to do their life-long learning, read books and access information, without any restrains from time and space. The purpose of this study is to show the importance of public library website, especially for the children, and also to analyze trend of the country and present the solution to the problems. To achieve these goal, the analysis on the websites of the public libraries in Dagu and Gyengbuk area has been conducted. In detail, these were conducted about following criterions: existence of the website, structural system, search service, and contents.

  • 2007년 1윌 1일부터 공공분야 SI사업에 감리가 의무화가 되었고, 이에 따라 일정규모이상의 공공SI 사업에 대하여 감리수행이 활성화되고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 급변하는 정보기술의 자체관리에 한계를 느끼는 민간 기업에서도 프로젝트 품질의 확보를 위하여 외부 전문 감리업체에 품질관리를 의뢰하고 있는 경우가 정가하고 있다. 이에 따라 감리원의 능력과 감리의 방법을 향상시키기 위한 방만을 연구하고 적용 할 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 최근 공공SI사업 현황과 감리현황을 분석한 후 감리수행에 대한 발전 방만을 제안한다.

  • With the rapid development of the Internet, public agencies and private companies introduced 'IT outsourcing in order to maintain and repair the information systems. Also they have utilized the SLA in order to manage it. Although IT outsourcing as a way to promote effective SLA are being introduced, the introduction of service level agreements or those introduced universal effectiveness did not demonstrate in the public agencies. The importance of outsourcing in the information systems is growing, but the increase in size of the business information, IT technology diversification, expansion of information between systems interconnection, information system operating and maintenance costs with the increase of information systems to streamline operations, increase the need for versatility is growing gradually. In this paper we investigates IT outsourcing in public agencies as a way to promote effective service level agreement(SLA) with the introduction and consideration, and through the application of SLA mutual customers and IT service organizations make a clear point of management and IT service levels and IT services for improved mind and strengthen the effectiveness of preventive activities can be seen.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the information need of senior users of public libraries and to present ways to improve senior services based on this. To this end, demographics and public library statistics were analyzed, and opinions and demands on book collection, programs, services, and spaces were investigated for senior users of Gangseo-gu libraries. The survey was conducted with surveys and interviews, and based on the results of the survey, it was suggested that the improvement of senior service should be carried out to customized contents collection, program connecting the past, present and future, services with enhanced access and publicity and securing dedicated space for seniors.

  • 최근 과학 및 IT 패러다임은 HW(과거) 및 SW(현재) 중심에서 '데이터 빅뱅'을 활용하여 정치 사회 경제 등 제반 이슈와 연계된 분석 예측으로 진화 중이다. 국가안전 및 위험관리, 의료, 교육, 복지, 환경 등 사회 전반에 걸쳐 공공부문에서의 빅데이터 활용 가능성이 높아지고 있다. 공공정보 자체뿐만 아니라 민간정보와의 통합 분석을 통해 효과적인 맞춤형 정책과 새로운 지식정보 서비스 제공이 가능하기 때문에 주요 선진국은 공공정보의 적극 활용을 위해 다양한 정책을 경쟁적으로 추진해 오고 있다. 공공정보의 민간활용 촉진은 정보 제공자인 공공기관뿐만 아니라, 이를 활용하는 민간 사업자, 관련 서비스 사용자 모두에게 경제적 비경제적 가치를 제공할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구를 통해 국내 공공정보 민간활용 산업의 경제적 파급효과를 추정하고, 중요한 전 후방 연결 산업들을 파악하고자 한다.
