The purpose of this study is identify factors influenced of children's library use and management through investigating the use patterns and recognition of children's parents on children's libraries. Questionnaire was used as a research method. Data was collected from the parents who entered library entrance with their child and children on four public libraries. Six factors were identified from four public libraries setting. There were the spatial planning based upon library use patterns, the flexibility and mobile furnishings, the activity area for causing children's Interesting, the guarantee of safety Place for children, the quiet area for emotional stability, and functional place for moving around.

The research was conducted to investigate factors that facilitate users' finding books by analyzing classifications in public library and bookstore. This research was based on the assumption that the users' needs and information behaviors are similar in both public library and bookstore. The main purpose of this study is not to recommend classifying public library collections the way a bookstore does, but to figure out what makes the users' book finding more convenient by analyzing the classifications. To carry out the research, users' book finding in public library and classifications of public library and bookstore are analyzed. Then, a survey was conducted to investigate users' book finding behaviors, degree of convenience in finding books according to different classifications and the causes of the convenience. The results of the research showed that bookstore's classification was more convenient for the users in finding books.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how library visitors use spaces in the library and to make suggestions for improving library use environments. Library use patterns were analyzed by tracking the users' smartphone WiFi. A library located in Seoul, Korea was selected and detectors were installed in the library. The suggestions from the results analyzing data collected between September, 2016 and December, 2016 were as followed. 27.17% of library visitors used a space in the library. Among them, 28.69% used the lobby to return their checked-out materials. Therefore, the library is recommended to install a device in the area in which users are easy to return their items. Additionally, since the spatial relationship between cultural program room and book shelves was low, those programs might be improved by providing library materials related with them.

This study aims to explore measures to help establish a management direction and policies of local public libraries based on local residents' needs for library services based on the community characteristics. To that end, a community survey was conducted focusing on eight urbans (gus) and two rural districts (guns) in Incheon Metropolitan City. The districts were categorized into three types, original urban center (Area 1), new urban center (Area 2), and urban-rural complex (Area 3). The residents in each type were analyzed in terms of library use, awareness, needs, and satisfaction. In terms of library use, awareness, and satisfaction;we identified differences among the area types. This paper suggested management directions of local public libraries based on the community characteristics.

This study analysed the user behaviors and satisfaction for the government information service of Nation Assembly Library of Korea, based on the questionnaires from users including the legislative employees and other library users. The results showed that legislative employees used the services more often and have more needs for the services than other users. Most legislative employees and other library users evaluated that the services should be improved and that it would be desirable to develop a portal system and services providing the integrated search and offering government information as one stop service.

This is a user study of the public access to the Internet at public libraries in Busan and Kyungnam province. The mainstream of users was identified as a typical 'information rich'. It was found that public libraries were not successful in leading the traditional non-users into the libraries with public access to the Internet in libraries. For users the most attractive feature of the service was the fact that it was given for free, while they were not value the professional guidance of librarians. Upgrade of hardwares and telecommunication infrastructure was at the highest priority of the users want list, Some strategies for the public access to the Internet at public libraries were proposed.

The study examined citizens' information needs, perception and expectations of their public library services in Daejeon. The study analyzed citizens' demands and satisfaction(or dissatisfaction) of library services and facilities to develop comprehensive library plans and detailed strategies to satisfy the diverse users' needs (including non-users' needs) in the middle of rapidly changing socio-technological environments. To achieve the goal, the study collected the data by using both quota sampling and online and offline survey methods, and analyzed the 1,383 data through the statistical processes. The study found out the significant results and features, and suggested the implication and main points to apply the results to developing comprehensive library plans and strategies.

The purpose of this study is to increase understanding of the library use behavior and preferences of the elderly by exploring positive and negative experience factors in the use of public libraries by the elderly. To this end, the Critical Incident Technique (CIT) was applied and individual in-depth interviews were conducted with elderly people who use public libraries. Analysis of the collected data was conducted by applying the constant comparison method, and 12 categories of positive experience factors and 12 categories of negative experience factors were derived under four areas: data, service-program, environment-facility, and emotion. Based on these results, suggestions were made regarding public library services for the elderly.

공공도서관은 환경과 유기적인 상관관계가 큰 조직으로 기준설정이 필요하고 따라서 효율적인 봉사를 할수있다. 본 연구는 기준이 가지는 특성과 설정과정을 분석하고 질적인 수준을 위한 이용도 조사와 봉사정신에 입각한 시스템기준 설정을 시도한 논문이다. 본 연구의 결론은 설치기준: 일인당 면적기준보다 시스템 단위의 지역기준, 장서기준: 참고서적 우선의 장서구성과 최신성을 위한 정간물 구입, 직원기준: 업무분석을 통해 전문직과 비전문직의 구별과 전문성 향상, 시설기준: 일인당 좌석, 면적기준보다 봉사형태에 따른 다양한 시설, 봉사기준: 이용행태분석을 통해 봉사정신에 입각한 프로그램 설정.

The aim of this study is to propose a development plan of public library OPAC interface. For this purpose, the study analyzed cases of OPAC interface of domestic and overseas public libraries, and took a questionnaire survey on use types, level of functional demand and improvement matters of OPAC in order to examine the user requirements on OPAC interface. Public library OPAC interface must comply with interface design principle and reflect requirements of users. Accordingly, it must supply foundation to realize various OPAC functions by inputting perfect bibliographic records on resources. The research result could be used as basic resources for the public library OPAC interface design.
