WSN platform for health and environmental monitoring system for workers (해상 근로자 건강 및 환경 모니터링을 위한 WSN 플랫폼)

  • 고립된 해상 작업 환경에서의 작업자의 건강상태 관리와 혹시 모를 추락탐지는 작업자의 안전을 위해 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 고립공간 작업자의 안전을 모니터링하기 위한 헬멧에 부착할 수 있는 IoT 시스템을 위한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이는 장치가 작업 중에 긴급 상황인지 신속하게 판단할 수 있다. 스마트폰은 누구나 들고 다니기 때문에 사용자 환경은 스마트폰을 이용하여 적용되었다. 작업자들이 착용할 용도이기 때문에 PPG 센서는 불편하지 않도록 귀에 부착한다. PPG 센서를 단독으로 사용하여 스트레스 정도를 파악한다. 3축 가속도 센서는 헬멧에 부착되고 추락을 감지하는데 사용된다. 우리는 여러 센서와 블루투스 통신을 이용하여 발전된 센서 시스템을 만든다. 또한, 우리는 3축 가속도 샘플을 분석하고 정규화하는 알고리즘을 JAVA에서 구현하였다. 스마트 폰을 사용하는 이점은 신호 처리를 위해 별도의 마이크로프로세서(mcu)가 필요하지 않으며 내부 통신 시스템을 통해 제어 센터에 정보를 전송할 수 있다는 것이다.

Design of Rule-based Inference Engine for the Monitoring of Harmful Environments in Workplace

  • The risk of health impairment due to poor ventilation, fire and explosion by inflammable materials, and other unintended occurrences is always present in dangerous workplaces such as manholes, underground septic tanks, storage tanks and confined areas. Therefore, it a system which can monitor harmful working environment through sensors in workplace on a realtime basis and keep workers safe from the risk is needed. This paper has attempted to design an inference engine to monitor harmful environments in the workplace. The proposed inference engine has a rule-based system structure using JESS. This system is not confined to a particular computing platform and is easily interlocked with OSGi-based middleware.

  • CCTV protects people and assets safely by identifying dangerous situations and responding promptly. However, it is difficult to continuously monitor the increasing number of CCTV images. For this reason, there is a need for a device that continuously monitors CCTV images and notifies when abnormal behavior occurs. Recently, many studies using artificial intelligence models for image data analysis have been conducted. This study simultaneously learns spatial and temporal characteristic information between image data to classify various abnormal behaviors that can be observed in CCTV images. As an artificial intelligence model used for learning, we propose a multi-classification deep learning model that combines an end-to-end 3D convolutional neural network(CNN) and ResNet.

Technological Review for Location Based Services (위치기반 서비스를 위한 기술수요 조사)

  • The advent of LBS is caused by mobility advantage of wireless internet. The mobility has the information such as location which is based on LBS(Location based Services). It comes out as a killer application for wireless internet when market of wireless internet is diffused. In this paper, we build up the technical model and survey the requirement of technologies related LBS expanded as wireless internet services rapidly. First, we construct the conceptual model for LBS based on functions of LBS and characteristics of foreign models. This model is consisted of generalized components of LBS and can be used as a basic model to survey the requirement of each technologies. Second, we survey the demand of each technology for LBS. Then we analyze the importance of technologies for LBS to prepare developing various LBS. From this research, we can introduce proper plans and policy for LBS to develop technology stepwise, to promote industry activities and how to make up the foundation for LBS by government.

  • Since urban facilities have a signigicant meaning that represents the degree of development of nations and cities, it is very important to effectively manage and operate the facilities. In this paper, we propose a context-awareness system for managing urban underground facilities intelligently and develop its algorithm and prototype. The algorithm of the suggested system includes the period from the point when various sensors set up in USN environments sense abnormal signals and make alarms to the point when the context-awareness system analyzes the alarm and sends the analysis results to integrated platform and related modules. We then implement the prototype of the proposed context awareness system and verify the effectiveness of the system by performing unit tests. Our developed prototype will become the basis of actual system development. We expect that the suggested system will be used as a good reference model of related systems managing various types of urban facilities.

Nationwide Comparison of Postal Motorcyclists' Driving Behavior and their Workloads using V-World Platform (브이월드를 활용한 집배 이륜차 운전자들의 운전 행동과 업무 부하의 비교 분석)

  • Although motorcycle safety studies to date have identified the causes of motorcycle accidents in general, very few have investigated postal motorcycle accidents by studying the delivery postmen's specific work environment. To better understand postal motorcyclists' driving behavior associated with their delivery workload, we developed a system using V-World platform which visualizes driving behavior in real time along the driver's delivery route throughout an entire work day. We conducted a field test to examine the feasibility of our system by involving six delivery postmen currently working in Songpa, Seocheongju, and Gangseo, respectively. To show the potential of our system for nationwide comparison of postal motorcyclists' driving behavior and their workloads, we present several sample analyses using the collected field data. Although ideally, postmen's workloads should be standardized nationwide, we found large variation depending on regional characteristics of work area which affects postmen's driving behavior.

Study of the ENC reduction for mobile platform (모바일 플랫폼을 위한 전자해도 소형화 연구)

  • The satellite navigation system is widely used for identifying a user's position regardless of weather or geographic conditions and also make effect on new technology of marine LBS(Location Based Service), which has the technology of geographic information such as the ENC. Generally, there are conceivable systems of marine LBS such as ECDIS, or ECS that use the ENC itself with powerful processor in installed type on ships bridge. Since the ENC is relatively heavy structure with dummy format for data transfer between different systems, we should reduce the ENC to small and compact size in order to use it in mobile platform. In this paper, we assumed that the mobile system like PDA, or Webpad can be used for small capability of mobile platform. However, the ENC should be updated periodically by update profile data produced by HO. If we would reduce the ENC without a consideration of update, we could not get newly updated data furthermore. As summary, we studied considerations for ENC reduction with update capability. It will make the ENC be useful in many mobile platforms for various applications.

  • In the fourth industrial-revolution era, the construction industry is transitioning from traditional methods to digital processes. This shift has been challenging owing to the industry's employment of diverse processes and extensive human resources, leading to a gradual adoption of digital technologies through trial and error. One critical area of focus is the safety management at construction sites, which is undergoing significant research and efforts towards digitization and automation. Despite these initiatives, recent statistics indicate a persistent occurrence of accidents and fatalities in construction sites. To address this issue, this study utilizes large-scale language-model artificial intelligence to analyze big data from a construction safety-management information network. The findings are integrated into on-site models, which incorporate real-time updates from detailed design models and are enriched with location information and spatial characteristics, for enhanced safety management. This research aims to develop a big-data-driven safety-management platform to bolster facility and worker safety by digitizing construction-site safety data. This platform can help prevent construction accidents and provide effective education for safety practices.

Automatic Extraction of River Levee Slope Using MMS Point Cloud Data (MMS 포인트 클라우드를 활용한 하천제방 경사도 자동 추출에 관한 연구)

  • Continuous and periodic data acquisition must be preceded to maintain and manage the river facilities effectively. Adapting the existing general facilities methods, which include river surveying methods such as terrestrial laser scanners, total stations, and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), has limitation in terms of its costs, manpower, and times to acquire spatial information since the river facilities are distributed across the wide and long area. On the other hand, the Mobile Mapping System (MMS) has comparative advantage in acquiring the data of river facilities since it constructs three-dimensional spatial information while moving. By using the MMS, 184,646,009 points could be attained for Anyang stream with a length of 4 kilometers only in 20 minutes. Levee points were divided at intervals of 10 meters so that about 378 levee cross sections were generated. In addition, the waterside maximum and average slope could be automatically calculated by separating slope plane form levee point cloud, and the accuracy of RMSE was confirmed by comparing with manually calculated slope. The reference slope was calculated manually by plotting point cloud of levee slope plane and selecting two points that use location information when calculating the slope. Also, as a result of comparing the water side slope with slope standard in basic river plan for Anyang stream, it is confirmed that inspecting the river facilities with the MMS point cloud is highly recommended than the existing river survey.

A Study on the Development items of Korean Marine GIS Software Based on S-100 Universal Hydrographic Standard (S-100 표준 기반 해양 GIS 소프트웨어 국산화 개발 방향에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to develop the direction of the development of the next-generation mapping of marine information required to develop a base of the utilization localization of maritime production tools. The GIS data-processing products and technologies currently used in the Korea's marine sector depend on external applications which is renewal costs, technical updates, and unreflected characteristics. Meanwhile, the S-100 standard, the next generation hydrographic data model that complements S-57's problems in marine GIS data processing, was adopted as a new marine data standard. This study aims to present the current status and problems of marine GIS technology in Korea and to suggest the development direction of GIS software based on the next generation hydrogrphic data model S-100 standard of IHO(International Hydrographic Organization). S-100-based marine GIS localization technology development and industrial ecosystem development research is expected to scientific decision-making on policy issues that occur with other countries such as marine territory management and development and use of marine resources.
