An Administrative Boundary is the basic of spatial information to cover geographical and regional area. Its importance has arisen in our society at the Smart world era. However, it is difficult to serve exact boundary's lines as administrative boundaries are based on the cadastre lines of land register ; these partly are overlay each other or has gaps. So, it Should be adjusted. But, the maintenance work of administration boundaries causes a conflict or confusion unless we offer concrete procedures and detailed plans previously. Therefore, a rational method is required to prevent side-effects such as confusion, disagreem ent and a conflict etc. In this Study, we present a method and 5 step procedures to make better use in a practical maintenance work. we researched on basic studies of Administrative boundary's concept, history. And we performed a field survey as well as analysis of current problems. considering these results, we suggest usage of various spatial data sources, stake-holders' participation, a method of Nearest district's boundaries to maintain administrative boundaries. Throughout the method, we expect it to serve correct boundary-data to various fields without a big confusion. it is also useful to apply its results not only for re-surveying our land but for recording appropriate boundary-data as rational lines.
In order to determine the provenance of the Huksan Mud Belt sediments in the southeastern Yellow Sea, the major and rare earth elements of the same sediments were analyzed. The surface sediments were sampled from top of piston-cores and box-cores taken at 51 sites within the Huksan Mud Belt. With the mean grain size of $5-6{\phi}$, the sediments of the study area are mud-dominated. The spatial distribution patterns show that silt content is high in the northern Mud Belt, whereas clay content increases as it moves toward the southern Mud Belt. Interestingly, the geochemical compositions both of major and rare earth elements have resulted in differences of sediment provenance. Among the major elements, plots of Fe/Al vs. Mg/Al ratios, $Al_2O_3$ vs. MgO ratios, and $Al_2O_3$ vs. $K_2O$ reveal that the Huksan Mud Belt sediments are dominated by the Korean river-derived sediments. However, the characteristics of rare earth elements infer sediments originating from the Chinese rivers. This discrepancy between the above provenances is attributed to the different contributory factors in the content of chemical elements. Considering strong correlation between major elements with grain sizes, the contents of the major elements are thought to be influenced by the grain size. However, there is a weak correlation between rare earth elements and grain sizes. The behaviour of rare earth elements may be controlled by heavy minerals, rather than grain sizes. Further study requires to solve the discrepancy arose from the difference in applied chemical tracers.
It is difficult to solve problems regarding the adjustment on demand and supply of LNG due to seasonal variations of domestic demand of LNG, a discordance among import pattern and limits of storage facilities and so on. Also, there may be instability in LNG supply due to chances of accidents at LNG producing areas. Therefore, it is very important to secure large LNG storage facilities and to stabilize LNG supply management on a long term basis. The objective of this study is to examine the real-scale applicability of a lined underground rock storage system, which have been verified by a successful operation of the Daejeon LNG pilot plant. The new technology has many advantages of better economy, safety and environment protection, for above-ground and in-ground storage systems. The results of this study may promote the first ever real scale underground LNG storage system in a rock cavern.
The regulation of continuous and adjacent development was introduced to prevent unplanned and improper development and to protect environment in green zone and non-urban area that was deficient in infrastructure. Though it has been effective, it was repealed in 2011 by disorderly development problem caused by crafty tricks around restrictions. Alternatively, the Urban Planning Commission is now deliberating on the development permit, but there are still much to be resolved such as improper committee formation and abuse of power, insufficient green corridor preservation, a lack of use of planning information system, discordance between landscape management guidelines in laws, etc. Therefore, we suggest several ideas for improvement of development permit system as follows; intensive deliberation system in the Urban Planning Commission, integrated commission for green corridor prevention, early establishment of urban planning information system, making a development permission guideline to minimize discretional act of the Urban Planning Commission, etc.

The use of consistent coastlines is an important element for the systematic management of maritime boundaries and the interests of local governments. The Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency conducted a preliminary survey for consistent coastline production, since 2001. As a result, the length of coastline was different by year. Because of the lack of systematic management, the use of incorrect data, etc. We also changed the coastline on the sea chart to show on a digital map for realization of terrain expression method. However, there was a variation in shoreline length due to various surveying techniques and shoreline extraction methods. In this paper, the characteristics of Jeju-do coastline were analysed by using a modified divider method of fractal dimension. The accuracy of the vectorization was determined by converting the actual distance in the Public Survey Amendment for proper divider use. With 1:5,000 and 1:25,000 digital maps of Jeju-si and Seogwipo-si each fractal dimensions were calculated. Jeju-si=1.14 and Seogwipo-si=1.12 in 1: 5,000. Jeju-si=1.13 and Seogwipo-si=1.10 in 1: 25,000. Calculated fractal dimension were correlated to data from digital maps. It was considered that complexity and scale of coastlines affected. In the future coastline length statistics and minimum ratio of calculated coastline length to original length need to be determined for consistency of coastline length statistics.

It is difficult to obtain the accurate and homogeneous height information over the whole Korea due to the effect of different vertical datums have been divided into land and sea part. In this study, we tried to unify the different vertical datums using the precise spirit leveling between TBM (tidal bench mark) and BM (bench mark) in order to solve the problems caused by different vertical datums. For this, the vertical datum offsets at observed points which were calculate from leveling results and then transformation model of vertical datum will be modelled using calculated offsets along the coastal line. For suggesting the precise modelling method to vertical datum transformation, we analyzed results from various interpolation methods such as Spline and LSC method. As the results from analysis, the LSC method combined with 4-parameters trend model is more suitable for modelling the offsets between vertical datums. The final transformation model of vertical datum using the combination of LSC and 4-parameter model which provides the transformation accuracies of ${\pm}10.4cm{\sim}14.8cm$ level. And, the software for vertical datum transformation that was also developed using the final model in order to convert the height information included in various spatial data effectively. Therefore, the transformation model between vertical datums of land and sea part, which is developed in this study, is expected to minimize the confusion caused by mismatch of height information in the use of spatial data, and it also can be minimize economic and time losses in various application fields such as coastal development project, coastal disaster prevention, etc.

The height datum of Korea is currently separated into land and sea, which makes it difficult to acquire homogeneous and accurate height information throughout the whole nation. In this study, we therefore tried to suggest the more effective way to transform the height information were constructed separately according to each height datum on land and sea to those on the unique height datum using precise geoid models and tidal observations in Korea. For this, Anmyeon island was selected as a study area to develop the precise geoid models based on the height datums land (IMSL) and sea (LMSL), respectively. In order to develop two hybrid geoid models based on each height datum of land an sea, we firstly develop a precise gravimetric geoid model using the remove and restore (R-R) technique with all available gravity observations. The gravimetric geoid model were then fitted to the geometric geoidal heights, each of which is represented as height datum of land or sea respectively, obtained from GPS/Leveling results on 15 TBMs in the study area. Finally, we determined the differences between the two hybrid geoid models to apply the height transformation between IMSL and LMSL. The co-tidal chart model of TideBed system developed by Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency (KHOA) which was re-gridded to have the same grid size and coverage as the geoid model, in order that this can be used for the height datum transformation from LMSL to local AHHW and/or from LMSL to local DL. The accuracy of height datum transformation based on the strategy suggested in this study was approximately ${\pm}3cm$. It is expected that the results of this study can help minimize not only the confusions on the use of geo-spatial information due to the disagreement caused by different height datum, land and sea, in Korea, but also the economic and time losses in the execution of coastal development and disaster prevention projects in the future.
In an electrical tomographic survey using an inclined borehole with a pole-dipole array, we must consider several factors: a singular point associated with zero potential difference, a spatial discrepancy between electrode and nodal point in a model due to a inclined borehole, and a variation of geometric factors in connection with a irregular topography. Singular points which are represented by the normal distance from current source to the ground surface can be represented by serveral regions due to a irregular topography of ground surface. The method of element division can be applied to the region in which the borehole is curved, inclined or the distance between the electrodes is shorter than that of nodal points, because the coordinate of each electrode cannot be assigned directly to the nodal point if several electrodes are in an element. Test on a three-dimensional (3-D) synthetic model produces good images of conductive target and shoves stable convergence.
In this paper, we propose CIVE, context-based interactive system for heterogeneous distributed virtual environments that delivers contexts irom real world to virtual environment and vice versa. The proposed system ronsists of obi-UCAM for generating user's contexts, NAVER for managing virtual environment, and Interface for linking obi-UCAM with NAVER. The connection between real and virtual worid through context is brneficial in following ways. Firstly. CIVE Provides a personalized user interface for virtual environment according to a user profile such as identity, age and vernacular. Secondly, translating all input signals into context, it guarantees adaptive access that enables a user to exploit unencumbered input devices controlling a shared object in virtual environment even if he moves with his own device from a virtual system to another. Finally, it provides a mechanism for synchronizing distributed virtual systems that share context representing changes at remote nodes. The context reduces the inconsistency of representing the same data among heterogeneous systems. Therefore, CIVE plays an important role in implementing VR applications such as teleconference, game and entertainment.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport carried out a pilot project for data maintenance in 2011 to ensure the accuracy of cadastral records nationwide, and now trying to reduce the errors such as omission of the cadastral book, inconsistency of land category between cadastral account book and cadastral map, etc. and the boundary between the map boundary, scale, and administrative areas. In this study, we looked at the currents status and problems of the cadastral research, improving the cadastral map, which has been promoted by the government and the cadastral office. In order to revitalize the cadastral map data maintenance project, it is necessary to re-establish the plan for each step for challenging the limitation of current data maintenance, and the master plan for promotion system, and develop manuals to maintain consistency and secure accuracy of cadastral map maintenance, such as "Coverage and Maintenance Guidelines for Cadastral Maps", and secure the national budget for error correction in cadastral map led by government.
