  • In this paper, we was designed three-dimensional face recognition algorithm using polynomial based RBFNNs and proposed method to calculate the recognition performance. In case of two-dimensional face recognition, the recognition performance is reduced by the external environment like facial pose and lighting. In order to compensate for these shortcomings, we perform face recognition by obtaining three-dimensional images. obtain face image using three-dimension scanner before the face recognition and obtain the front facial form using pose-compensation. And the depth value of the face is extracting using Point Signature method. The extracted data as high-dimensional data may cause problems in accompany the training and recognition. so use dimension reduction data using PCA algorithm. accompany parameter optimization using optimization algorithm for effective training. Each recognition performance confirm using PSO, DE, GA algorithm.

  • Recently there has arisen concern in both the database community and the graphics society about data retrieval from large motion databases because the high dimensionality of motion data implies high costs. In this circumstance, finding an effective distance measure and an efficient query processing method for such data is a challenging problem. This paper presents an elaborate motion query processing system, SMoFinder (Similar Motion Finder), which incorporates a novel kinematic distance measure and an efficient indexing strategy via adaptive frame segmentation. To this end, we regard human motions as multi-linkage kinematics and propose the weighted Minkowski distance metric. For efficient indexing, we devise a new adaptive segmentation method that chooses representative frames among similar frames and stores chosen frames instead of all frames. For efficient search, we propose a new search method that processes k-nearest neighbors queries over only representative frames. Our experimental results show that the size of motion databases is reduced greatly (${\times}1/25$) but the search capability of SMoFinder is equal to or superior to that of other systems.

  • Land cover classification is an important tool for preventing natural disasters, collecting environmental information, and monitoring natural resources. Hyperspectral imaging is widely used for this task thanks to sufficient spectral information. However, the curse of dimensionality, spatiotemporal variability, and lack of labeled data make it difficult to classify the land cover correctly. We propose a novel classification framework for land cover classification of hyperspectral data based on convolutional neural networks. The proposed framework naturally incorporates full spectral features with the information from neighboring pixels and has advantages over existing methods that require additional feature extraction or pre-processing steps. Empirical evaluation results show that the proposed framework provides good generalization power with classification accuracies better than (or comparable to) the most advanced existing classifiers.

  • This paper describe methodology that is distributed on 2-dimensional plane to much high-dimensional facial motion datas using Isomap algorithm, and user interface techniques to control facial expressions by selecting expressions while user navigates this space in real-time. Isomap algorithm is processed of three steps as follow; first define an adjacency expression of each expression data, and second, calculate manifold distance between each expressions and composing expression spaces. These facial spaces are created by calculating of the shortest distance(manifold distance) between two random expressions. We have taken a Floyd algorithm for it. Third, materialize multi-dimensional expression spaces using Multidimensional Scaling, and project two dimensions plane. The smallest adjacency distance to define adjacency expressions uses Pearson Correlation Coefficient. Users can control facial expressions of 3-dimensional avatar by using user interface while they navigates two dimension spaces by real-time.

  • This paper proposes an automatic facial expression generation system of vector graphic character using gaussian process model. Proposed method extracts the main feature vectors from twenty-six facial data of character redefined based on Russell's internal emotion state. Also by using new gaussian process model, SGPLVM, we find low-dimensional feature data from extracted high-dimensional feature vectors, and learn probability distribution function (PDF). All parameters of PDF are estimated by maximization the likelihood of learned expression data, and these are used to select wanted facial expressions on two-dimensional space in real time. As a result of simulation, we confirm that proposed facial expression generation tool is working in the small facial expression datasets and can generate various facial expressions without prior knowledge about relation between facial expression and emotion.

  • In this paper, feature extraction methods, which is one field of reducing dimensions of high-dimensional data, are empirically investigated. We selected the traditional PCA(Principal Component Analysis), ICA(Independent Component Analysis), NMF(Non-negative Matrix Factorization), and sNMF(Sparse NMF) for comparisons. ICA has a similar feature with the simple cell of V1. NMF implemented a "parts-based representation in the brain" and sNMF is a improved version of NMF. In order to visually investigate the extracted features, handwritten digits are handled. Also, the extracted features are used to train multi-layer perceptrons for recognition test. The characteristic of each feature extraction method will be useful when applying feature extraction methods to many real-world problems.

  • In this paper, we propose the dimension reduction method of multi-dimension speech feature vector for real-time adaptation procedure in various noisy environments. This method which reduces dimensions non-linearly to map the likelihood of speech feature vector and noise feature vector. The LRT(Likelihood Ratio Test) is used for classifying speech and non-speech. The results of implementation are similar to multi-dimensional speech feature vector. The results of speech recognition implementation of detected speech data are also similar to multi-dimensional(10-order dimensional MFCC(Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficient)) speech feature vector.

  • Quantile regression has become a more widely used technique to describe the distribution of a response variable given a set of explanatory variables. This paper proposes a novel modelfor quantile regression using doubly penalized kernel machine with support vector machine iteratively reweighted least squares (SVM-IRWLS). To make inference about the shape of a population distribution, the widely popularregression, would be inadequate, if the distribution is not approximately Gaussian. We present a likelihood-based approach to the estimation of the regression quantiles that uses the asymmetric Laplace density.

  • This paper considers multivariate time series modelling of PM10 data in Korea collected from 2008 to 2011. We consider both temporal and spatial dependencies of PM10 by applying the sparse vector autoregressive (sVAR) modelling proposed by Davis et al. (2013). It utilizes the partial spectral coherence to measure cross correlation between different regions, in turn provides the sparsity in the model while balancing the parsimony of model and the goodness of fit. It is also shown that sVAR performs better than usual vector autoregressive model (VAR) in forecasting.

  • The purpose of this article is to present the application of Least Squares Support Vector Machine in analyzing the existing structure of brand. We estimate the parameters of the Market Share Attraction Model using a non-parametric technique for function estimation called Least Squares Support Vector Machine, which allows us to perform even nonlinear regression by constructing a linear regression function in a high dimensional feature space. Estimation by Least Squares Support Vector Machine technique makes it a good candidate for solving the Market Share Attraction Model. To illustrate the performance of the proposed method, we use the car sales data in South Korea's car market.
