Reliability improvement methods of AF track circuits for the train control system (열차내 연산시스템용 AF궤도회로 신뢰성향상 방안 연구)

  • The AF track circuit that detecting train position and transmitting various train control data for DTG to the train on-board is composed of single operation system. If a failure occurs on this system, the driver should be operate the train by manually until the system is restored, because the system cannot control switch machines and signals by automatically. In this process the human error affects to the train delay, collision, derailment and critical safety accident. Therefore, this document has analyzed the effects that each failure mode influences on system and train, and quantified the failure valuation point and class. Basis on this quantified analysis result, MTBF increased and MTTR decreased and failure number also decreased by adopting the independent installation of power supply, the replacement of defected capacitors, the installation of resister cooling system and the improvement of maintenance methods. And the failure factors of AF track circuits were decreased by conducting the preventive maintenance which is a quantitative way of maintenance system by experience.

Specification-based Analog Circuits Test using High Performance Current Sensors (고성능 전류감지기를 이용한 Specification 기반의 아날로그 회로 테스트)

  • Testing and diagnosis of analog circuits(or mixed-signal circuits) continue to be a hard task for test engineers and efficient test methodologies to solve these problems are needed. This paper proposes a novel analog circuits test technique using time slot specification (TSS) based built-in current sensors (BICS). A technique for location of a fault site and separation of fault type based on TSS is also presented. The proposed built-in current sensors and TSS technique has high testability, fault coverage and a capability to diagnose catastrophic faults and parametric faults in analog circuits. In order to reduce time complexity of test point insertion procedure, external output and power nodes are used for test points and the current sensors are implemented in the automatic test equipment(ATE). The digital output of BICS can be easily combined with built-in digital test modules for analog IC test.

  • Recently the subject of "wavelet analysis" has be drawn by both mathematical and engineering application fields such as Signal Processing, Compression/Decomposition, Wavelet-Neural Network, Statistics and etc. Even though its similar to Fourier analysis, wavelet is a versatile tool with much mathematical content and great potential for applications. Especially, wavelet transform uses localizable various mother wavelet functions in time-frequency domain. Therefore, wavelet transform has good time-analysis ability for high frequency component, and has good frequency-analysis ability for low frequency component. Using the discriminative ability is more easy method than other conventional techniques. In this paper, Morlet wavelet transform was applied to discriminate the kind of line fault by acquired data from real power transformation network. The experimental result presented that Morlet wavelet transform is easier, and more useful method than the Fast Fourier Transform(FFT).

  • Since an unexpected fault of induction motor drive systems can cause serious troubles in many industrial applications, which the technique is required to diagnose faults of a voltage-fed PWM inverter for induction motor drives. The considered fault types are rectifier diodes, switching devices and input terminals with open-circuit faults, and the signal for diagnosis is derived from motor currents. The magnitude of dq-current trajectory is used for the feature extraction of a fault and PCA LDA are applied to diagnose. Also, we show results with respect to the execution time because of the possibility to use that a diagnosis software is embedded in the controllers of medium and small size induction motors drive for real-time diagnosis. After we performed various simulations for the fault diagnosis of the inverter, the usefulness of proposed algerian was verified.

  • For the fault diagnosis of three-phase induction motors, we construct a experimental unit and then develop a diagnosis algorithm based on pattern recognition. The experimental unit consists of machinery module for induction motor drive and data acquisition module to obtain the fault signal. As the first step for diagnosis procedure, preprocessing is performed to make the acquired current simplified and normalized. To simplify the data, three-phase current is transformed into the magnitude of Concordia vector. As the next step, feature extraction is performed by kernel principal component analysis(KPCA) and linear discriminant analysis(LDA). Finally, we used the classifier based on radial basis function(RBF) network. To show the effectiveness, the proposed diagnostic system has been intensively tested with the various data acquired under different electrical and mechanical faults with varying load.

A Fault-Tolerant Architecture of PCI-Express Bus for Avionics Systems (항공전자 시스템을 위한 PCI-Express 버스의 결함감내 구조)

  • Avionics systems that use the PCI-Express bus unfortunately cannot use at least one I/O device if the bus fails, because the I/O device is connected to CPU through only one PCI-Express channel. This paper presents a fault-tolerant architecture of the PCI-Express bus for avionics systems, which tolerates one channel failure with help of the other redundant channel that has not been failed. In this architecture, each redundant PCI-Express channel connects a corresponding port of CPU to each switch logic of channels to provide each I/O device through a switched fault-tolerant channel. This paper includes the results of experimentation to show that the architecture detects the faulty condition in real time and switches the channel to the other redundant channel which has not been failed, when the architecture meets a failure.

  • Many problems in rotating machinery such as aircraft engines, wind turbines and motors are caused by bearing defects. The abnormalities of the bearing can be detected by analyzing signal data such as vibration or noise, proper pre-processing through a few signal processing techniques is required to analyze their frequencies. In this paper, we introduce the condition monitoring method for diagnosing the failure of the rotating machines by analyzing the vibration signal of the bearing. From the collected signal data, the normal states are trained, and then normal or abnormal state data are classified based on the trained normal state. For preprocessing, a Hamming window is applied to eliminate leakage generated in this process, and the cepstrum analysis is performed to obtain the original signal of the signal data, called the formant. From the vibration data of the IMS bearing dataset, we have extracted 6 statistic indicators using the cepstral coefficients and showed that the application of the Mahalanobis distance classifier can monitor the bearing status and detect the failure in advance.

태양풍 관측기 시제품 개발

  • 태양으로부터 날아오는 고에너지 하전 입자들은 인공위성이나 지구의 통신장비에 심각한 고장을 일으킬 수 있다. 이런 사고를 방지하기 위해서는 사전에 태양풍의 물리량을 알아내는 것이 중요하다. 이를 위해 inter planetary scintillation 현상을 이용하여 태양풍의 운동을 예보하는 시스템을 전파연구소와 협력하여 개발할 예정이다. 그 첫 단계로 이 시스템보다 작은 규모의 시제품을 만들어 동작을 입증하고자 한다. 이 시제품은 각각 16개의 다이폴 안테나로 구성된 타일 3개로 이루어져 있다. 다이폴 안테나들의 중심주파수는 350MHz이고, 대역폭은 약10MHz이다. 48개의 다이폴 안테나들의 총 집광면적은 약 30m2이고, 타일 내의 다이폴 안테나들을 나선형으로 배열해 grating lobe의 크기를 감소시켰다. 각 안테나에서 나오는 신호는 저 잡음의 LNA를 이용해 증폭하여 beam former로 인가된다. Beam former는 안테나에서 나오는 신호의 위상을 조절하고 합쳐서 약 15도 크기의 빔을 만들고 전자적으로 천체를 추적한다. Beam former에서 나온 신호는 수신기에서 저주파의 신호로 변환되는데, 국부발진기를 조절하여 radio frequency interference에 능동적으로 대처할 수 있도록 하였다. 수신기에서 나오는 아날로그 신호는 digitizer를 최대 107sps의 빠르기로 2바이트의 디지털 신호로 전환된다. Labview 프로그램을 사용하여 3개의 타일에서 나온 신호를 합성해서 태양 근처의 전파원을 추적하도록 하였다.
