  • 본 논문에서는 가정용 비디오 게임에 사용 가능한 고속의 저가형 모션캡쳐, 시스템에 사용되는 전 방향 특성을 갖는 IR 능동 마커의 개발을 목표로 하고 있다. 현재 영화나 게임에서 모션캡쳐를 응용한 시스템 및 컨텐츠들이 많이 선보기고 있으며, 인기를 모으고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 흐름에 맞추어 우리는 이미 저가이면서 속도가 빠른 PSD(Position Sensitive Detector) 센서를 이용만 스테레오 비젼 기반의 PSD 모션캡쳐 시스템(Stereo vision based PSD motion capture system)과 광량 보정 기반의 단일 PSD 모션캡쳐 시스템(Intensity Calibration based single PSD motion capture system) 그리고 일정간격의 두 능동마커 기반의 단안 PSD 모션캡쳐 시스템(Two active markers at fixed distance based single PSD motion capture system)등을 소개한 바 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 전방향 특성을 갖는 IR 능동 마커는 일정간격의 두 능동마커 기반의 단안 PSD 모션캡쳐 시스템에 적용하여 보다 정밀한 3차원 좌표 측정을 할 수 있도록 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 동일 특성을 갖는 마커를 제작하고 평가하여 일정간격의 두 능동마커 기반의 단안 PSD 모션캡쳐 시스템에 적합한 마커의 제작 방법을 제안하였다.

Effect of Compliant Structure in the Accelerated Heart Valve Fatigue Tester on the Surface Pitting of the Disk (기계식 인공판막의 표면 부식에 영향을 미치는 가속내구시험기의 컴플라이언스 구조에 관한 연구)

  • There are various reports on the fracture of mechanical heart valves implanted in human or animal, and they are pointed out that problems are induced by an erosion of disk surface, due to a cavitation effect. We have been investigating this mechanism using accelerated fatigue tester, and it was found that erosion was enhanced by a compliance effect in the test circuit. In this study, effects of compliance value and location on erosion were discussed, while disk closing velocity was measured by a high speed video camera. It was clarified that faster closing velocity was resulting in a enhancement of erosion on the disk surface.

  • In this paper, after inputting the computer with the attached number plate on the vehicle, using it, the color decomposition method and back propagation neural network proposed the extractable method of the vehicle number plate at high speed. This method separated R, G, B signal form input moving vehicle image to computer through video camera, then after transform this R, G, B signal into input image data of the computer by using color depth of vehicle number plate and store up binary value in the memory frame buffer. After adapting character's recognition algorithm, also improving this, by adapting back propagation neural network makes the vehicle number plate recognition system. Also minimalizing the similar color's confusion, adapting horizontal and vertical extracting algorithm by using the vehicle's rectangular architecture shows the extract and character's recognition of the vehicle number plate at high speed.

  • Recently the attention on digital hologram that is regarded as to be the final goal of the 3-dimensional video technology has been increased. A digital hologram can be generated with a depth and a RGB image. We proposed a new system to capture RGB and depth images and to convert them to digital holograms. First a new cold mirror was designed and produced. It has the different transmittance ratio against various wave length and can provide the same view and focal point to the cameras. After correcting various distortions with the camera system, the different resolution between depth and RGB images was adjusted. The interested object was extracted by using the depth information. Finally a digital hologram was generated with the computer generated hologram (CGH) algorithm. All algorithms were implemented with C/C++/CUDA and integrated in LabView environment. A hologram was calculated in the general-purpose computing on graphics processing unit (GPGPU) for high-speed operation. We identified that the visual quality of the hologram produced by the proposed system is better than the previous one.

An Experimental Study on Spray Characteristics of Diesel and Bio-diesel Fuel (디젤 및 바이오디젤 연료의 분무특성에 관한 연구)

  • The using of diesel engine will be increased in the world for fuel economy. But diesel engine emits harmful emissions such as much NOx, smoke etc. In this study, experiments were performed to investigate the spray characteristics of diesel spray in a common-rail system according to fuel temperature, injection pressure, injection period and fuel viscosity etc. using a high speed video camera. Diesel oil has different spray patten due to injection pressure and injection period in a common-rail system. A Filter pressure was influenced by fuel temperature which was turned to fuel viscosity related to a fluid flowing. The effect of the bio-diesel fuel mixing ratio on the spray and atomization characteristics was also investigated at various experimental conditions. It shows that the droplet atomization characteristics of bio-diesel fuel showed deteriorated results as the mixing ratio of biodiesel increased because of the high viscosity.

Fast Panoramic Video Generation Method Using Morphological Corner Detection (모폴로지 코너 검출을 이용한 고속 파노라마 비디오 제작 기법)

  • This Paper Proposes a method of building a panoramic video from several videos captured from adjacent cameras. The panoramic image which constructed from adjacent and overlapped images is used for photogrammetry, satellite photo or many computer graphic applications. The perspective transformation, which is estimated from the appropriate corresponding pairs of images, can be used to construct the panoramic image without unwarranted distortion and its quality is decided by how to find the features needed for transform estimation. We used the corner points for the corresponding features, and morphological structures were utilized for fast and robust corner detection. We used the criterion of the corner strength, which guarantees the robust detection of the corner in most situations. For the transformation, 8 parameters were estimated from perspective equations which use matched points of adjacent images, and bilinear color blending was used to construct a soapless panoramic video. The experiments showed that the proposed method yields fast results with good quality under various conditions.

Experimental Study on Characteristics of Steam Condensation in a Sub-cooled Water Pool (과냉각수조에서 증기응축 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Experimental study on characteristics of direct contact condensation of steam discharged into a sub-cooled water pool has been performed using five different sizes of horizontal nozzle over a wide range of steam mass fluxes and pool temperatures. Steam condensation phenomena have been observed visually and by taking pictures of steam jets using a high speed video camera. Two different steam jet shapes such as ellipsoidal shape and conical shape were typically observed for a stable steam jet, depending on the steam mass flux and pool temperature. The steam jet expansion ratio and the steam jet length as well as the condensation heat transfer coefficients were determined. The effect of steam mass flux, pool temperature, and nozzle diameter on these parameters were also discussed. Empirical correlations for the steam jet lengths and the condensation heat transfer coefficients as a function of steam mass flux and condensation driving potential were established. The axial and radial temperature distributions in steam jet and in surrounding water were measured. The effect of steam mass flux, pool temperature, and nozzle diameter were also discussed. The condensation regime map, which consists of six regimes such as chugging, transient chugging, condensation oscillation, stable condensation, bubble condensation oscillation, and intermittent oscillation condensation, were established. In addition, the dynamic pressures at the pool wall were measured. The close relation of dynamic pressure and steam condensation mode, which is also dependent on steam mass flux and pool temperature, was found.

News Editing and Transferring System in a Distant Region (원격 뉴스 편집 전송 시스템)

  • In this paper we introduce a system that assists news reporters to easily edit source video anywhere, and transfer the result from a remote site to the station. Presently reporters are bothered to edit source materials, compress and transfer using several separate tools. Moreover such tools have lots of too complicated features to use only for news production. We have integrated file sending and video editing functions together for seamless workflow. News programs usually need promptness in production. For this reason our system is designed to make it possible the one-stop production of news items outside the TV station. Also the system reflects the demands of field workers, that is, easy usage for the beginner and features for speedy news production. One of the most focused is that the reliability of the system is guaranteed in the process of transfer. To achieve this end, we have implemented several error-resilient schemes for unexpected network errors. Our system consists of remote laptop editing terminals and a newsgathering server. DV-format based editing and analog-to-DV converting device are adopted to capture video from not only lightweight DV camcorders but also old-fashioned ENG cameras into laptop computers. We expect that news reporters and cameramen can take terminals anywhere the Internet is available and both editing and sending will be done on the spot. This will help increase the competitive power of our news production.

  • One of the major trends of automotive networking architecture is the introduction of automotive Ethernet. Ethernet is already used in single automotive applications (e.g. to connect high-data-rate sources as video cameras), it is expected that the ongoing standardization at IEEE (IEEE802.3bw - 100BASE-T1, respectively IEEE P802.3bp - 1000BASE-T1) will lead to a much broader adoption in future. Those applications will not be limited to simple point-to-point connections, but may affect Electric/Electronic(EE) Architectures as a whole. It is agreed that IP based traffic via Ethernet could be secured by application of well-established IP security protocols (e.g., IPSec, TLS) combined with additional components like, e.g., automotive firewall or IDS. In the case of safety and real-time related applications on resource constraint devices, the IP based communication is not the favorite option to be used with complicated and performance demanding TLS or IPSec. Those applications will be foreseeable incorporate Layer-2 based communication protocols as, e.g., currently standardized at IEEE[13]. The present paper reflects the state-of-the-art communication concepts with respect to security and identifies architectural challenges and potential solutions for future Ethernet Switch-based EE-Architectures. It also gives an overview and provide insights into the ongoing security relevant standardization activities concerning automotive Ethernet. Furthermore, the properties of non-automotive Ethernet security mechanisms as, e.g., IEEE 802.1AE aka. MACsec or 802.1X Port-based Network Access Control, will be evaluated and the applicability for automotive applications will be assessed.

Analysis of Spike Motion in Male Professional Volleyball foreigner Players (남자 프로배구 용병선수들의 스파이크 동작 분석)

  • This study was conducted to provide useful information for the scientific training of spikes and instruction, by analyzing all kinematical variants including time, distance, velocity, angle factors in spike movements of volleyball matches. The subjects were 4 foreigner players, who participated in the V-League of 2008-2009. The conclusion from this study is as follows. Time for a jumping step was .33s, and Angelko had a bit longer takeoff time than other players. In Angelko and Anderson who were leading in attack power, the whole distance of a spike motion was relatively short, less than 4m. The moment when the center of gravity reached the lowest point was when the right foot bearing weight in the jumping step was passing the left foot, and the highest point of gravity was 2.30m, which appeared just before the impact. The horizontal speed of the center of the gravity was highest as 4.19m/s at the beginning of a jumping step, and lowest at the stance phase of the fore foot just before takeoff. The vertical speed of the center of the gravity was lowest after the right foot touched the ground, and highest after the takeoff of the fore foot. Impact was 3.22m, and the highest ball speed was 28.18m/s.
