  • Nowadays medical treatment service increase due to ageing population and improving the quality of life. Accordingly it is predicted that drug discovery market will expansion continuously. Therefore it is necessary that profit creation by drug discovery on the global market is important. HCS(High Contents Screening) has been emerging as a potential method to solve problems of the present drug discovery. This research is about liquid dispenser for HCS. The purpose of this research is to manufacture high performance liquid dispenser for HCS. The dispenser is designed to control 5 liquids separately. The liquid contact parts are designed disposably, biocompatibly and chemically inertly. Air curtain is equipped at the side of tip to dispense very small liquid volume and to prevent hanging drop on tip. Valving is performed by just controlling the pressure of the pressure driven pump without valve.

  • Since sea state changes engine load instantaneously, the speed governing apparatus is essential for marine engine to maintain constant speed regardless of the load. As governing apparatuses, mechanical, pneumatic, and electric governors have been employed. But, recently, according to the introduction of low speed-ling stroke engines to increase thermal efficiency, the development of governor which has better response characteristics is requisite. In this paper, to design the governor that meets above requirement, author made a performance test for the existing PID control digital governor with the aid of computer simulation, and investigated digital governor applying the optimal control algorithm, then, executed computer simulation by the same way. As the result of simulations, found that the former let engine have large overshoot and long settling time at low speed, on the other hand, the latter made engine have better response. If we design and invent a good observer for delay time element so that the optimal control theory can be applied, better governor will be expected.

헬륨냉동계통의 헬륨가스 순도 제어 운전

  • 헬륨냉동계통은 연구용 원자로인 하나로에서 냉중성자를 생산할 수 있도록 설치된 수조내기기 내의 감속재인 수소가 정상적으로 열 사이펀을 유지하기 위한 주요 계통이다. 헬륨냉동계통은 헬륨가스를 압축하는 헬륨 압축부분과 헬륨가스를 팽창시켜 저온을 생성시키는 헬륨 팽창부분으로 나누어진다. 헬륨 압축부분은 두 개의 스크류가 맞물려 회전하면서 약 1.05 bar(a)의 헬륨가스를 최대 13 bar(a)까지 압축시키는 압축기가 있으며, 헬륨 팽창부분인 냉동박스의 팽창 터빈은 self-acting gas bearing에 의해 구동되며, 저온모드 운전 시작시 헬륨 압축부분에서 일부의 가스는 팽창 터빈 축(shaft)으로 유입되어 회전속도가 서서히 증가하면서 고속으로 회전하여 극저온의 헬륨가스(14~18 K)를 생성하는 주요 기기이다. 헬륨을 팽창하는 부분인 냉동박스 내로 헬륨 압축가스를 유입하기 전에 압축된 헬륨가스 내 불순물의 순도를 분석하여 냉동박스의 주요 부품인 팽창터빈의 운전에 영향을 미치지 않는 것이 가장 중요하다. 따라서 헬륨 저압측에 헬륨가스 내 불순물 즉, 수소($H_2$), 수분($H_2O$), 질소($N_2$), 탄화수소류(CxHy) 및 오일(Oilaerosol) 등의 함량을 분석하기위해 가스 분석기가 설치되어 있으며, 냉동박스 내로 유입되기 전에 헬륨압축에서 순환되는 가스 내 불순물인 수분, 질소, 탄화수소류 및 오일은 10 vpm 이하이어야 하며, 수소 함량은 0.1 % 이내이어야 한다. 헬륨 압축부분에서 순환되는 가스의 불순물이 요구 조건에 만족하도록 헬륨 고압측과 헬륨 저압측에 cryogenic adsorber를 설치하여 가스 내 불순물을 제거하는 가스순도제어 작업을 수행해야 한다. cryogenic adsorber를 사용하기 위해서는 장치 내의 불순 가스를 공정진공도(1.33 X $10^{-3}$ mbar) 이하로 진공배기하는 작업이 매우 중요하다. 이는 계통의 헬륨가스가 오염되지 않도록 하는 것으로 cryogenic adsorber 내에는 액체질소를 충전하여 액체질소 온도에 노출된 활성탄층을 헬륨가스가 흐르면서 수분, 질소, 탄화수소류 및 오일 등이 제거된다. 이 논문에서는 헬륨냉동계통의 가스 순도 제어 작업을 통해 헬륨가스의 순도가 요구조건 이하로 만족하며, 팽창 터빈의 운전에 영향을 미치지 않음을 기술하고자 한다.

  • A design study was conducted for a new concept aircraft(Canard Rotor/Wing: CRW) that has the capability of dual mode flight, a rotorcraft and a fixed wing mode. The CRW can show a vertical take off/landing and a high speed/efficiency cruise performance simultaneously. It is not surprising to develop a new sizing code for this class of aircraft because conventional sizing codes developed solely for either the rotary wing or the fixed wing aircraft are not adequate to design a dual mode aircraft operated both by the rotary wing through tip jet effux and the fixed wing lift. Thus, a new design code was developed based on the conventional sizing code by adding some features including rotor performance, duct flow, and engine flow analysis, hence could eventually predict the performance of reaction driven rotor, the flight performance and the flight characteristics. The various design parameters were investigated to find their influences on the flight performance then, a small UAV(Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle) of 1500 lbs class was optimally designed to have minimum weight using the developed sizing code.

  • Machine learning as a service, the so-called MLaaS, has recently attracted much attention in almost all industries and research groups. The main reason for this is that you do not need network servers, storage, or even data scientists, except for the data itself, to build a productive service model. However, machine learning is often very difficult for most developers, especially in traditional science due to the lack of well-structured big data for scientific data. For experiment or application researchers, the results of an experiment are rarely shared with other researchers, so creating big data in specific research areas is also a big challenge. In this paper, we introduce the KISTI-ML platform, a community-based rapid AI model development for scientific data. It is a place where machine learning beginners use their own data to automatically generate code by providing a user-friendly online development environment. Users can share datasets and their Jupyter interactive notebooks among authorized community members, including know-how such as data preprocessing to extract features, hidden network design, and other engineering techniques.

  • LED light sources have been known to have a long life and good energy efficiency compared to traditional light sources. Recently, headlamps using LED light sources have ensured the forward visibility and safe operation of high-speed rolling stock. However, assessing the lifespan of LED headlamps based on real test data is not easy because it depends on the multiple stress factors such as a fixed driving current, junction temperature, vibration and so on. Generally, LED headlamps have failed before their advertised life span mainly due to temperature. Thus, the performance assessment of a temperature control unit should be done before a life cycle test of LED headlamps. This study attempted to develop a prototype temperature control module for a lifecycle test system using a commercial LED headlight and verified the system through experiments.

  • The VLSI devices of submicron level trend to have a lowering of reliability because of hot carriers by two dimensional influences which are caused by short channel effects and which are not generated in a long channel devices. In order to minimize the two dimensional influences, much research has been made into various types of source/drain structures. MOS typed tunnel transistor with Schottky barrier junctions at source/drain, which has the advantages in fabrication process, downsizing and response speed, has been proposed. The experimental device was fabricated with p type silicon, and manifested the transistor action, showing the unsaturated output characteristics and the high transconductance comparing with that in field effect mode. The results of trial indicate for better performance as follows; high doped channel layer to lower the driving voltage, high resistivity substrate to reduce the leakage current from the substrate to drain.

  • The manufacturing system was used to communicate between controller and GUI system by RS232C. The controller is deal with processing the equipments such as cylinders, motors, sensors, and so on. The Gill system received the signal from actuator controller by direct communication ways, RS232C, and presented the data to user to analyze the all of status for manufacturing system. In this point, it is important that communication use the RS232C. The way is helpful to be able to reduce cost, have simple structure, and easily maintain the stable communication status. Otherwise, the way has some problem to loss signal or data under the high speed communication. So it needs to complement the communication process to without loss data. In this research, we made the communication algorithm and implement the process to reduce losing data when it send or receive the signal using RS232C between controller and manufacturing system.

Efficient DSP Architecture For High- Quality Audio Algorithms (고음질 오디오 알고리즘을 위한 효율적인 DSP 설계)

  • This paper presents specialized DSP instructions and their hardware architecture for audio coding algorithms, such as the MPEG-2/4 Advanced Audio Coding(AAC), Dolby AC-3, MPEG-2 Backward Compatible(BC), etc. The proposed architecture is specially designed and optimized for the MDCT/IMDCT(Inverse Modified Discrete Cosine Transform), and Huffman decoding of the AAC decoding algorithm. Performance comparisons show a significant improvement compared with TMS320C62x and ASDSP21060 for the MDCT/IMDCT computation. In addition, the dedicated Huffman decoding accelerator performs decoding and preparing operand in only one cycle. The proposed DPU(Data Processing Unit) consists of 107,860 gates and achieves 150 MIPS.

  • The solid rocket motor(SRM) consists of a motor case, igniter, propellants, nozzle, insulation, controller, and driving device. The liquid rocket propulsion systems(LRPSs) cools the nozzle by the fuel and oxidizer but SRM does not cool the nozzle. The nozzle of SRM is high temperature condition and high velocity condition so occurs the erosion by combustion gas. This erosion occurs the change of nozzle throat and reduces thrust performance of rocket. The material of Rocket nozzle is minimization of erosion and insulation effect and endure the shear force, high temperature and high pressure. The purpose of this study is to investigate the erosion characteristics of solid rocket nozzles by each combustion time. Through the structure inspection of Graphite and C-C composite, identify the characteristics of the microstructure before and after erosion.
