A Study on the Evaluation of Safety Stiffness from Ship's Mooring Bollards (선박 접안용 계선주의 안전 강성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Mooring bollards are the mandatory facility in ports for they are the objects used to fasten the ship to its position at the berth. All the mooring bollards were installed following suggested sizes, numbers, materials and shape of installation according to Port and Fishing Design Standards. However, Korea has no management standard for use of mooring bollards to safety in ship berthing. In this research, the installation standard for mooring bollards including the holding power applied to mooring bollards in berthing was studied. Also, the performance of mooring bollards for minimum safety guarantee in berthing based on research of various specification by their sizes was analyzed. The analysis on mooring bollards was examined by each power on mooring bollards from the applied force in berthing divided into horizontal and vertical direction in order to examine the performance of domestic mooring bollards, the limit force is calculated based on detailed specification research result. As a result, the working stress according to the towing force was found to be at least 150Mpa and it was evaluated to be 60% of the limit strength. Also, by comparing each forces, the appropriateness was examined and the specification of maximum capability calculated. This performance evaluation method based on detail specification of mooring bollards will be expected to be useful to examine the appropriateness of mooring bollards for various types of vessel in berthing and to develop maintenance and management standard through the performance change evaluation referring to mooring bollard detailed specification changes.

  • 계선주는 선박이 접안 중 안전성을 확보하는 설비로서 계류안전성 평가에 필수 설비 중 하나이다. 이러한 계선주는 국내 항만 및 어항설계 기준의 견인력에 따라 규격이 구분되어 설치되나 규격별 성능 확인을 위한 평가 방법이 제시되지 않아 평가 방법 검토가 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 견인력에 따라 설치되는 계선주 규격별 제원을 분석하여 재질과 특성에 따라 견인력에 따라 작용하는 수평력과 수직력을 휨 응력과 전단 응력으로 나누어 분석하고 이에 따른 성능 적정성을 평가하고 살제 허용 견인력을 평가 하고자 하였다. 또한 계선주 설치 후 노후화로 인한 성능 변경을 평가하고 예측하고자 두께를 통한 평가 방안을 검토하고자 하였다.

Development of AI-based Mooring Lines Recognition to Check Mooring Time (선박 접/이안 상황 계선줄 인식을 위한 인공지능 모델 개발)

  • In this paper, in order to improve port work preparation and berth scheduling efficiency in an artificial intelligence-based berthing monitoring system that can monitor the ship's berthing process, we develop a mooring line recognition model to check an exact berthing time. By improving the pre-designed AI model, it is possible to segment the mooring line from the input image, and to recognize when the mooring line arrives or falls on the berth, thereby providing the correct ship's berthing time. The proposed AI model confirmed by the results that mooring line recognition is possible with evaluation data about the actual berthing situation.

  • Prior to sea trials, dock trials are usually carried out in order to check the main propulsion system and auxiliaries. At that time the motion of a ship is limited by mooring ropes. In Hyundai Heavy Industries, a simple equation is used to obtain propeller thrust which is used as an input data of mooring analysis. Recently the ship size and the engine power become larger. Therefore a careful analysis of the mooring condition is necessary in order to avoid possible accidents. In this study propeller thrust at deck trials is reviewed and examined through a series of model tests.

A Study on the Length of DMZ and MDL (비무장지대 및 군사분계선의 길이에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to measure the length of the Demilitarized Zone and the Military Demarcation Line(MDL) on the Korean Peninsular. For this purpose, maps of the Armistice Agreement Volume II were used. These maps are nine sheets. In order to extract the MDL shown on the map, coordinates were assigned to the scanned image maps using the georeferencing module of ArcGIS based on the sheet line coordinates. The accuracy of the extracted vectors was checked by overlaying them on the maps of the Armistice Agreement Volume II. And I tried to validate these vectors through comparative analysis with vectors extracted from Kim(2007). Vectors extracted from Kim(2007) had errors in the curvilinear parts of the MDL, but the vectors extracted from this study exactly matched the MDL in the Armistice Agreement Volume II. The measured length is 239.42km(148.77miles). This means that the expression '155mile MDL' or '248km DMZ' in papers, reports or mass media has so far been inappropriate. I think this study will be able to provide information on the exact length of the DMZ in studies related with DMZ or in policy decisions by the national and local government. However, it is deemed necessary to verify this result by national organizations such as the NGII(National Geographic Information Institute). After these verification procedures, I hope that the national government will inform the people of the exact length of DMZ and MDL.

Analysis of Response behaviors of offshore mooring structures by a piecewise-linear system (구분적선형시스템을 이용한 해양 구조물의 거동분석)

  • A piecewise-linear system is utilized to model the offshore mooring system. The approximated piecewise-linear restoring force is obtained to be compared with the analytically derived restoring force of a mooring system. Two systems are compared to verify the applicability of the piecewise-linear system to evaluate responses of the mooring system. Using the piecewise-linear system, the response behaviors of mooring systems are examined under various excitations. Nonlinearity of the system and effects of both system and excitation parameters are intensively examined. System responses are identified mainly by observing Poincare maps. The mooring system is found to have various types of responses such as regular harmonic, subharmonic and complex nonlinear behaviors, including chaos by utilizing a piecewise-linear system. Various values of parameters are applied to determine the effects of parameters upon system responses. Response domains are determined by establishing parametric maps.

소형선박 계류부표 개발에 관한 기본설계 연구

  • 계선표지는 특수목적항로표지의 하나로 해양경찰에서는 "연안해역 거점감시를 위하여 해양경찰청 소속의 경비함정의 계선을 목적으로 설치하는 부표"라고 정의한다. 현재 덕적도 외 33기의 계류부표를 해양경찰에서 운영하고 있으며, 150ton 이하의 소형해경함정을 계류시키는데 사용하고 있다. 그러나 부표의 유지관리가 어려워 관리자에게 감시업무 이외에 과중한 업무가 부가되고, 부표의 철탑구조물의 형태로 인해 작업 중 안전사고가 많이 발생하고 있다. 또한 표체가 철재로 이루어져 있어 해경함정 계류시 부표 및 함정의 충돌에 의한 손상이 발생하여 유실되거나 침몰하는 경우도 있다. 이 논문에서는 현재 해양경찰 계류부표를 기준으로 하여 현재 소형선박을 위한 계류부표 분석 및 최적화된 계류부표 설계하고자 한다. 국외 특수용도 사용부표 사례 분석 및 현재 관리자의 해양경찰의 의견을 수렴을 통해 현재 계류부표의 운영현황 및 관리 실태를 분석하고 최적화된 새로운 계류부표의 기본설계를 제시한다.
