  • 찬란한 신라문화가 꽃핀 곳, 경주에서 새로운 관광 트랜로 떠들썩한 곳이 있다. 박정희 전 대통령시절부터 계획된 "경주승마리조트"가 바로 그 장본인이다. 경주 보문단지 내에 위치한 이곳은 관광객의 오감을 즐길 수 있는 각종 체험 관광문화로 급부상하며, 관광객에서부터 공연을 하기 위한 단체에 이르기까지 이곳에 대한 관심으로 문의전화가 끊이지 않는다. 이러한 세간의 관심에도 아랑곳 하지 않고 "중소현장이지만 더 안전해야 한다"는 조정길 현장소장이 총 지휘하며 무재해 준공을 향해 한발 한발 다가서는 현장, 바로 신일종합건설주식회사에서 시공이 한창인 경주승마리조트 신축공사 현장을 찾았다.

A Study of the Development of Tour Commodities for '98 Kyongju World Culture Exposition (`98 경주 세계 문화 엑스포를 중심으로 한 관광상품 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to make a plan for the development of new tour routes for '98 Kyongju World Culture Exposition. The result of this study is as follow: First, over 40% of tourists from Kyongsang-buk-do Province vote for Kyongju Area as the most favorite tourist-oriented city in this province. And they are visiting Kyongju mostly in April(22.6%) and in May(17.8%). Second, cultural assets in Kyongju area are located at Inkyo-dong(16.8%), at Bohwang-dong(9.4%), at Topjong-dong(8.1%). at Mt. Namsan area(11.8%, 6.9% for Naenammyon, and 4.9% for Dodong-dong), and at the vicinity of Kyongju City(53.9%). Third, tourism enterprises in Kyongju Area are located mostly at one place-Pomun Lake Resort area. This fact have had bad influence on the influx of tourists. Lastly, current tour routes are limited mostly to the heart of Kyongju City. So, other attractive tour routes must be developed also in other tourism circles such as the East Sea Tourism Circle and the Northern Province Tourism Circle, which belong to the 6 tourism circles designated by Kyongju City but are now excluded from the current tour routes. In conclusion, this study proposes "98 Kyongju World Culture Exposition with Themes" related to the 6 tourism circles. The themes proposed are as follows: (1) The exploration of the historical places of the Shill a Kingdom in the heart of Kyongju City including Mt. Seoak area and Pulkuksa Temple area. (2) Smile with a new millenium in Pomun Lake Resort area. (3) The exploration of the Buddhist culture in Mt. Namsan. (4) The harmony between nature and culture in the East Sea Tourism Circle and the Northern Culture Circle.

Forecasting of Foreign Tourism demand in Kyeongju (경주지역 외국인 관광수요 예측)

  • The study used a seasonal ARIMA model to forecast the number of tourists to Kyeongju foreign in a uni-variable time series. Time series monthly data for the investigation were collected ranging from 1995 to 2010. A total of 192 observations were used for data analysis. The date showed that a big difference existed between on-season and off-season of the number of foreign tourists in Kyeongju. In the forecast multiplicative seasonal ARIMA(1,1,0) $(4,0,0)_{12}$ model was found the most appropriate model. Results show that the number of tourists was 694 thousands in 2011, 715 thousands in 2012, 725 thousands in 2013, 738 thousands in 2014, and 884 thousands in 2015. It was suggested that the grasping of the Kyeongju forecast model was very important in respect of how experts in tourism development, policy makers or planners would establish marketing strategies to allocate services in Kyeongju as a tourist destination and provide tourism facilities efficiently.

Tourists' Historical Image and Behavior Characteristics for Heritage Site at Wolseong Palace in Gyeongju (경주 월성의 역사공간 이미지 및 관광객 이용행태 분석)

  • This study examines visitors' image and behavior characteristics of Wolseong palace in Gyeongju. This area has been a royal palace during Silla periods. So many scholars dedicate to the protection of this historical-cultural heritage. The research process consists of two main steps, such as on-site field investigation and survey research. The data were collected in summer and autumn. Collected data is classified into three groups to describe visitors' behavior, time, space, and then processed by statistical methods. The results are as follows: First, there is a shortage of programs and facilities. The result shows most visitors consider Wolseong palace as a pathway for walking. Hence better functions should be developed to attract more visitors but with least effect to historical remains. The founding is that increasing programs for history exploration, enhancing lighting installation, facilities, plant arrangement, road condition and so forth would be suggested.

  • 기존 가시권 분석에 있어서는 주거지 개발, 도로, 송전선 설치 등에 따른 시각적 영향을 분석하는 연구가 많이 이뤄졌다. 이들은 개발에 따른 시각적 영향을 분석하고 부정적 영향을 최소화시킴을 목표로 하고 있다. 경관이 안공요소의 침입을 수용할 수 있는 정도를 고려하여 각 경관의 수용능력에 따른 개발을 유도함으로써 시각적 환경의 질을 높이고자 하는 것이다. 또한 도심지의 개발로 인하여 중요 문화ㆍ관광자원의 훼손으로 오랫동안 잘 보존되어야할 관광자원에 대한 시각적 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 많은 문화ㆍ관광자원을 보유하고 있는 경주시 지역에 대하여 가시권역을 시각화하고 분석하여 보았다. 우선 경주시 지역에 대한 1:25,000 수치지형도 9장을 중첩하여 Arcview 프로그램을 이용하여 등고선만을 추출하였으며, 추출된 등고선도를 가지고 DEM을 생성한 후 Arc/GIS의 Workstation Arc/Info를 이용하여 가시권역을 나타내어 보았다. 이렇게 나타난 가시권역과 문화ㆍ관광지역과의 중첩을 통하여 가시지역의 범위를 분석하여 본 결과 관측점에서의 가시범위가 약 70%정도로 나타났다.

  • This study is an evaluation index development research based on Gyeongju Historic Heritage Sites to identify the attractive Properties of Gyeongju, which decided to competitiveness of the historical city. We got the export Indicator candidate groups by the literature reviews and UNESCO, ICOMOS, and 49 Indicator candidate groups had been selected. In the end, we chose 42 attraction indexes in charm of the cultural heritage side, Cultural heritage tourism resources Side, Restraining force Heritage tourism Side three aspects based on the analysis of Importance(M), Standard deviation(SD), Content Validity Ratio(CVR), Agreement, convergence by using Delphi Technique. We can determine these indicators will be useful basic information, for improving the city's historic attractions. In the future, used these indicators as a basis for Attractions effectiveness evaluation of Gyeongju, Through which the attractions of Gyeongju can be re-recognized.
