Analysis of Elementary School Teachers' Efficacy on Mathematics Teaching (초등학교 교사들의 수학 교수 효능감 실태 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is for investing and analysing elementary teachers' efficacy on teaching mathematics. It was measured by Kang & Kim(2014)'s instrument; MTEI (Mathematics Teaching Efficacy Instrument). The survey was conducted on a sample of 183 participants. The findings of this study are that mathematics teaching efficacy of elementary school teachers in South Korea is 64 percent based on 100 percent. There was no significant difference between women teachers and men teachers. Teachers who have taught longer than 5 years and less than 10 years have the lowest mathematics teaching efficacy. Teachers who were major in Mathematics have higher mathematics teaching efficacy than non-major in Mathematics. In addition, chances of training about mathematics make their efficacy higher.

Development and Application of Self-Evaluation Test Items for Secondary Science Teacher Professional Growth (중등 과학교사의 전문성 향상을 위한 자기평가 도구의 개발과 적용)

  • The purpose of this paper was to develop and execute self-appraisal test items on secondary science teachers. Test items included 6 sub-fields-subject knowledge, teaching strategies, teaching skills, assessment, laboratory management, and professional development - and 77 items. Using these test items, science teachers were able to evaluate their ability as prescribed by a 5-point Likert scale. Furthermore, teachers were able to comprehend fields showing their highest and lowest scores among the 6 sub-fields. They could then place special attention on the lowest field insuring self-growth as a science teacher. Self-appraisal test items were developed by analyzing related references on teacher evaluation criteria and standards. 220 subjects composed the sample on which these test items were executed. The results of this study were as follows. First, content validity of the test items was 80.8%. The range of sub-field reliabilities was .76 - .86 and the reliability coefficient of the entire test was .95. The range of correlation coefficient between each subfield was .54 - .69 and that of subfields and entire test was .54 - .79. The correlation coefficient between professional development and the whole test was .79, the highest coefficient observed. Second, significant difference was found according to teaching experience. More experienced teachers had higher scores in all 6 sub-fields (p<.05). In addition, a significant difference according to gender was observed in subject knowledge and laboratory management (p<.05); male teachers had higher scores than female teachers. Also, the higher the level of experience, the higher the scores for subject knowledge (p<.05). Lastly, the teacher's major did not result in any significant differences.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a measurement tool for self-image of the teacher librarian by semantic differential meaning scale and to analyse the correlation between their self-image and individual characteristics. This study suggests that the teacher librarians have regarded themselves as friendly, planned, sensitive and cooperative persons as well as persons with discernment. On the other hand, there are some negative self-images such as partial, poor and uninfluential persons plus disregarder and a reserved persons. The educational career of teacher librarians' background has influence on evaluation area of the self-image. This result shows that senior teacher librarians' role performance as a adviser or a leader is very important. So mediator role of KLA and KSLA has to be reinforced to beat the exchange and collaboration between the senior and the junior teacher librarians. It is necessary to appoint the teacher librarians obligatorily in oder to feel their professional security and sense of achievement, also to appreciate expertise of them through role clarification among the human resources of the school library.

충북지역 보건진료원이 업무 분석적 연구

  • 본 연구는 보건진료원의 업무를 분석하기 위하여 충북에서 활동하고 있는 보건진료원 136 명을 대상으로, 설문지를 흥해 자료수집을 하였으며 백분률, 평균값, 표준편차로 자료처리를 하였다. 조사기간은 1968 년 8월 1일부터 11월 20일까지 했으며 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 보건진료원의 일반적 특성과 업무에 관련 된 배경을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 보건진료원의 일반적 특성으로 연령 분포는 30 - 34세가 30.1 %로 가장 많았고 결혼 상태는 기혼자가 61.8 % 였다. 종교는 기독교가 42.6% 로 많았고 학력은 3 년제 간호전문대학 과정졸업 자가 78.9 %로 많았다. 현 가족과 동거상태에서 배우자와 자녀가 함께 사는 경우가 76.5% 였고, 보건진료원의 경력은 1 년 마만이 41.2 %로 가장 많았다. 보건진료원의 업무에 관련된 배경을 살펴보면, 근무지역조건은 갑지가 65.3 % 였고, 현 거주지는 보건진료소내 숙소가 대다수 였다. 보건진료소는 신축된 건물이 대다수였고, 보건진료소 시설은 '그저 그렇다'고 대답한 수가 가장 많았다. 보건진료소 운영협의회 수당은 월 $5\sim7$만원인 경우가 85.6 % 였다. 2. 보건진료원의 보건의료제공 실태는 다음과 같다. 보건진료원이 현재 담당하는 주민수는 $501\sim1,000$ 명이 35.3 % 이고, 1,500 명 이상의 주민을 담당하는 경우도 32% 였다. 보건진료소를 이용한 주만은 연평균 1,956 명이고, 보건진료소 평균 이용건수는 1,812건이다. 보건진료원의 직업만족도는 만족한다가 40.6%로 대체로 긍정적으로 나타났다. 3. 보건진료원과 보건의료 관련기관과의 관계는 다음과 같다. 지역주민의 보건의료자원 이용 정도는 보건소 진료소가 1 위로 가장 많았고, 약국, 약방, 의원, 보건지소의 순위로 나타났다. 보건의료 관련기관과의 협조가 잘 되고 있지 않다고 응답한 경우도 있는데, 보건소(19.7 %), 보건지소( 20.2%) 민간보건 의료기관(22.4 %)이며, 그 이유를 알아서 협조가 잘 이루어지도록 노력해야겠다. 원하는 감독체계는 보건소장(47.3 %), 보건간호 전문가(37.2 %)로 나타났으나 이는 현재있는 감독체제내에서 생각한 것이며 간호전문가에 의한 새로운 감독체제를 원하고 있었다. 많이 이용하는 의뢰 기관은 병원(52 %), 의원(24.4 %), 보건소(10.2 %) 순이었다. 4. 보건진료원의 업무 영역별 수행정도를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 보건진료원의 업무 영역을 7개 영역으로 구분하여 수행평균 평점을 보면통상질환 관리가 3.70점, 사업운영 관리 및 지도가 3.44 점, 사업계획 수립이 3.19 점, 지역사회 조직 및 개발이 3.17 점, 모자보건 및 가족계획이 3.14 점, 지역사회 보건관리가 3.09 점, 보건 정보체계 개발이 3.02 점으로 나타났다. 위의 결과에서 지역사회 보건관리가 3.09점으로 통상질환 관리 3.70 점 보다 낮게 나타났는데 이는 일차보건의료 사업 정착의 과도기적인 현상으로 생각하며, 이 부분을 더 많이 수행해야 할 것으로 사려된다. 5. 보건진료원의 업무 영역별 수행 소요시간의 평균은 다음과 같다. 지역사회 조직 및 개발 3.48 시간, 사업계획 수립 3.55 시간, 지역사회보건 관리 6.74 시간, 모자보건 및 가족계획 5.55 시간, 통상잘환 관리 15.94시간, 사업운영 관리 및 지도 4.39시간, 보건정보체계 3.62 시간으로 나타났다. 보건진료원이 통상질환 관리와 더불어 예방활동을 효율적으로 할 수 있도록 적절한 행정적, 교육적 지원이 있어야 한다고 생각한다.

Analysis of the Effects of In-service Education Program on Rural Amenity (농촌어메니티 교원 연수 프로그램 효과 분석)

  • 본 연구에서는 초 중등 교원들의 농업 농촌에 대한 가치 인식 및 학교 현장에서의 학생 지도력을 높이기 위해 교원들에게 농촌어메니티에 대한 이론과 체험 학습을 제공하는 '농촌어메니티 체험 연수 프로그램'의 개발 적용하고, 프로그램의 효과를 분석하였다. '농촌어메니티 개념 및 정책 이해', '농촌어메니티 현장 이해 및 체험', '농촌어메니티 수업 적용'의 3개 영역으로 구성된 총 20시간의 교원연수 프로그램을 개발하였으며, '09. 7. 23. ~ 8. 13.까지 2박 3일씩 5차에 걸쳐 200명의 교사를 대상으로 연수 프로그램을 운영하고, 연수 전후 설문조사를 실시하여 그 결과를 분석하였다. 연수에 참여한 교원들의 인구통계학적 특성을 분석한 결과, 여성의 비율이 56.9%로 남성(43.1%)에 비해 높았으며, 일반교사의 비율(53.3%)이 부장교사(26.9%)나 교장 교감 (19.8%)의 비율에 비해 높았다. 연령 분포에서는 50대가 35.2%로 가장 많고, 40대가 32.7%를 차지하고 있었으며, 경력이 20년 이상인 교원들이 67.2%인 것으로 나타났다. 근무기관 분포에서는 초등학교 교원들이 54.8%로 가장 많았으며, 중학교, 고등학교 교원이 각각 20.3%, 18.8%인 것으로 나타났다. 근무지역 분포에서는 중소도시에서 근무하는 교원들이 70.6%로 대다수를 차지하고 있었으며, 농촌거주 경험이 있는 교원들이 64.8%인 것으로 분석되었다. 연수 참여 사전-사후 설문조사를 통한 인식 변화를 분석(Paired samples t-test)한 결과 참여 이후 '농업 농촌에 대한 관심 정도', '농업의 중요도에 대한 인식', '농촌의 생활 정주, 관광 휴양 여건에 대한 인식', '농촌어메니티에 대한 이해도'가 모두 개선된 것으로 나타났다. '농촌어메니티에 대한 중요도 인식'(5점 척도)에서는 환경자원, 자연자원, 역사자원, 경관자원, 시설자원, 경제활동자원, 공동체활동자원으로 분류된 37개의 세부자원들에 대한 중요도 인식이 연수 참여 이후 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 단, 환경자원 가운데 '수질'의 평균 점수는 사전 4.8671, 사후 4.8960로 유의미한 차이가 발견되지 않았다. 연수 전반에 대해 만족하는 교원의 비율이 98.5%로 나타났으며, 연수 이후 농업 농촌에 대한 이해도가 증가했다는 응답이 98.0%, 학생 지도력이 증가했다는 응답이 95.0%, 연수에서 학습한 내용을 학생지도시 활용하겠다는 응답이 97.5%로 집계되어, 개발된 연수 프로그램이 설계시 수립한 목적 달성에 기여하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

Perception of Science Teachers on Integrated Science Practice (통합과학 실행에 대한 과학 교사의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study is to diagnose the operation status of high school integrated science newly introduced in the 2015 revised national curriculum and first applied in 2018, to examine teachers' perception on the new educational policy, and then based on this, extract implications for settling down the policy. A survey was administered to science teachers who participated in the in-service teacher training on integrated science, and the responses of 384 high school science teachers were analyzed. According to the results of the survey, integrated science was allotted six units to each school, and two or more teachers divided achievement standards and were responsible for them in many cases. Science teachers pointed to the increase of student-oriented activities as the biggest change due to the application of integrated science and also showed a positive attitude towards increasing the proportion of performance-based assessment, diversifying evaluation methods, increasing teacher consultations, and enhancing the holistic understanding of natural phenomenon, etc. In particular, teachers with 15 years or more of teaching experience were significantly positive about the increase of student-oriented activities, diverse assessment methods, and opportunities of teacher consultations. For teachers with a sub-major in science, teaching about non-majored contents was the most difficult and it was also difficult to determine the appropriate level of contents to teach. Teachers who majored common science, however, rarely complained about teaching non-majored content. In the case of two teachers in charge of integrated science, there was a statistically significant demand for subject matter knowledge as training content, and for mixed education incorporating theory and practice and customized training as a training method. In the case of one teacher responsible for the subject, there was a relatively lower demand. From these results, some implications for the successful implementation of integrated science were discussed.

The Effects of Characteristic and Social Support on the Life Satisfaction of the Elderly (노인의 일반적 특성과 사회적 지지가 생활만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the determinants of life satisfaction and social support among the elderly. For this purpose, a set of characteristic factors that are supposed to affect elderly life satisfaction were suggested and empirically analyzed. To achieve this study used final analysis with 470 questionnaires which did a questionnaire survey after gathering purposeful sampling method of 500 person who were visiting on Senior Club and Senior Welfare Center. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS statistical program. The methods of analysis were frequency, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, characteristic factors such as the family relation, health and economic of the elderly have significant impacts on their life satisfaction. Secondly, it was seen that social support regulated the effects of family relation and economic on characteristic factors. The implications of this study are, above all, to build a human network for training, education and social support for career development while participating in the labor market. Such activities could lead to social support for economic independence in old age.

The status of Healthcare-associated Infection Control among Healthcare Facilities in Korea (국내 의료기관의 의료관련감염 관리 실태)

  • The purpose was to describe the state of healthcare-associated infection(HAI) control. Data were collected from 134 hospitals. The questionnaire developed by Kang[8] were modified. The mean of hospital beds was 556.4, 26.9% of hospitals were less than 300 beds. 99.3% of hospitals had infection control committee(ICC). ICC met 3.4 times a year. 54.5% of hospitals had one infection control practitioner(ICP). 95.5% of ICPs were nurse, 48.7% of ICPs had more than master's degree. Hospital experience of ICPs was 13.5 years. ICP experience was 3.2 years. 30.8% of ICPs worked for less than 1 year. All hospitals investigated HAI, 75.4% performed improvement activities. There are significant differences in existence of ICD, negative pressure room, computer program, numbers of ICPs according to hospital size. Manpower, organization, and facilities lacked in less than 300 beds. This conclusions will give baseline data to establish infection control system, manpower and practice in small-medium hospitals.

  • There are two kind of system in hotel for evaluating management. the first is infra system, for example Front management system - reservation system, C/I, C/O system, POS system , web system, call center management -, Back office system, interface system, and so on which manage direct control for hotel, and next is strategic system, for example BSC , CS . which is supporting hotel management. The purpose of this study was to find using the Balanced Scorecard to evaluate hotel management perfomance. Management performance is based on productivity, quality, time, effect, and responsiveness. Hotel economic value is not equal visual asset which is measured financial value. It is include hotel brand, image, customers who have good loyalty, employees who give customers special service, and systems which was affected by internal process. In conclusion, innovation, growth, internal system process, empioyee and customer have effect hotel performance. Therefore hotel has to know non-financial performance which has positively relate to financial performance.

A survey research on the primary teachers' perception of social emotional learning in Malawi (말라위 초등교사의 사회정서학습에 대한 인식조사 연구)

  • This study aims to investigate the primary teachers' perception of social emotional learning (SEL) in Malawi. To achieve this purpose, total 78 questionnaires were gathered from 9 primary schools in rural area. The data was analyzed with independent-samples t-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are follows. First, the sub-factors of the Malawian primary teachers' perception of SEL shows that Comfort is 4.10, Commitment is 4.59, and Culture is 3.78. Second, there was a significant difference in the Malawian primary teachers' perception by age, years of teaching, and participation to in-service training about SEL among the individual characteristics. Third, the Malawian primary teachers' degree of implementation of SEL in school was 4.01, and there was a significant difference by years of teaching. Forth, among the sub-factors of teachers' perception of SEL, Comfort had a positive effect on the degree of implementation of SEL. This result implied that the reason why Malawian primary teachers had difficulty in implementing SEL in the school might be not a lack of individual competence but feel uncomfortable with implementation. Therefore, in order to implement SEL in the Malawi school, it is necessary to support teachers so they have confidence and comfort psychologically.
