  • The present study was aimed for the fetor in the livestock facilities. Simple detection systems for ammonia and hydrogen sulfide were examined to see the mechanism making the discoloration length of malodorous substance concentration. Detector tube for ammonia showed a good linearity of 99.6% while hydrogen sulfide detector tube gave 99.7% linearity with reproductivity of 95%.

  • A new adaptive TMS variable area flow meter that is used to the environment measuring equipment is proposed. This system is consist of a ball moving within the tube line which corresponds to gas flow and photo sensor array which monitoring the movement of ball. This system can monitoring the position of bali in case of the very few gas flow in various levels. And it can automatically adjust the gas flow at the highest and the lowest level to prevent the tube line blockage.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an efficient incident detection algorithm by applying machine learning, which is being widely used in the transport sector. As a first step, network of the target site was constructed with micro-simulation model. Secondly, data has been collected under various incident scenarios produced with combination of variables that are expected to affect the incident situation. And, detection results from both McMaster algorithm, a well known incident detection algorithm, and the Naive Bayes algorithm, developed in this study, were compared. As a result of comparison, Naive Bayes algorithm showed less negative effect and better detect rate (DR) than the McMaster algorithm. However, as DR increases, so did false alarm rate (FAR). Also, while McMaster algorithm detected in four cycles, Naive Bayes algorithm determine the situation with just one cycle, which increases DR but also seems to have increased FAR. Consequently it has been identified that the Naive Bayes algorithm has a great potential in traffic incident detection.

  • The basis of all approaches to improve reliability of marine engines exists in analyzing the field data of troubles and failures on marine engines. This paper analyses the data of troubles and failures on marine engines by Principal Component Analysis Method, one of Multivariate Data Analysis Method. The total number of data investigated is 211 and the observation period is 9 years. The analyzed factors are categorized among five groups respectively; electric.automatic control equipments, auxiliary machinery, pipings, refrigerators.air conditioners, and main engine. The failures in main engine are discovered by a definite fact of disorder, on the contrary, the failures in auxiliary machinery, refrigerators and air conditioners are discovered by sensible judgement of the operators.

  • The event of a Chemical disaster response personnel are causative events quickly Appearance & residual contaminant concentrations, should be identified accurately. In addition, the chemical disaster response procedure appropriate progress in the field of Chemical Composition and contaminant concentrations in order confirmation is essential. Use in the field to using the characteristics of each equipment. on-Site response equipment can not verify all the chemicals, materials detection, limited by each equipment. Detection range of equipment & specific materials should be considered complementary. In this study, using the equipment on-site detection of detection kit and detector tube, electronic detection equipment utilized for the rapid response procedure for helping a person to cope.

  • A photometric probe that can be immersed in liquid has been prepared by sealing a phototransistor with a collimating lens in a glass tubing water tight. Due to the directional sensing property of the probe, it has been successfully used in photometric titrations. Thus, when the probe is immersed in the titrand solution vertically and a light source is placed underneath the beaker containing the titrand, the relative absorbance of the solution can be measured without shielding from the room light.

  • Chemical accidents are the cause of the accident site during the initial responders to quickly and easily see materials and concentration method for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) is widely used in the initial response team direct reading detection equipment used. Ministry of the tubular gas detection equipment to detect direct reading detection equipment used in the event of an accident scene, and shell-and-tube gas detector for rapid detection and identification and precise analysis of causative pollutants before about strategically can identify the quantitative and qualitative useful equipment. However, those who initially respond to the scene of a direct reading detection equipment and a simple lack of understanding of how to use the numbers only because of the way you want to check the accuracy of detection results have been raising questions about the increase. The scene of the accident in order to obtain an accurate detection results used in this paper, the Ministry of Environment of gas detectors detect tubular Kitagawa and Draeger detector tube to check the reactivity of the material on-site detection of early response of those who were to raise the accuracy of the results.

  • Flammable liquids residues in fire debris and pyrolysis products of flammable materials were analyzed by using Gas detecting tube, Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometers (GC/MS), and Pyrolyzer. Comparison studies between chemical components detected in debris fired with and without Flammable liquids were performed. Though Flammable liquids were not present in debris, Gas detecting tube colors were also changed. Chemical components produced from conventional combustions were different from those produced from pyrolysis. Due to the difference of the reaction conditions between combustions and pyrolysis, different chemical products were produced. Petrochemical products of PVC wood-linoleum block could produce ignitable chemicals, such as toluene, ethylbenzene, undecane, and dodecane. So, for better fire investigation more consideration of those chemicals will be porformed.
