  • 실제 구조물에 있어 확률, 통계 및 이론으로 구해진 랜덤성을 갖는 객관적 불확실성뿐만 아니라 설계자의 경험이나 공학적 판단에 의해 주관적으로 평가되는 인간오차나 시공중의 과오 또는 구조설계에 미치는 사회적, 정치적 및 경제적 요청 등의 퍼지성을 갖는 주관적 불확실성이 존재하기 때문에 현실적으로 랜덤성과 퍼지성을 동시에 고려한 실뢰성평가 즉, 안전성평가에 대한 퍼지이론의 도입이 필수 불가결하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 구조물의 객관적·주관적 불확실성을 동시에 고려한 신뢰성해석방법으로 베이즈의 의사결정이론에 퍼지이론을 병합한 퍼지-베이즈 신뢰성해석 알고리즘을 개발하여 건축구조물의 신뢰성평가 및 안전성평가에 적용하여 분석하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 이동전화(CDMA) 채널환경을 통과한 왜곡된 전화음성에 대해 객관적 음질평가 척도의 개발을 위한 기초 연구로서 기존의 CD(Cepstral Distance), MSD(Mel Spectral Distance), BSD(Bark Spectral Distance), Modified BSD, PSQM(Perceptual Speech Quality Measure)를 대상으로 객관척도 알고리즘을 성능평가 하였다. 이 척도들은 실제 이동전화 환경에서 수집된 PCS 음성데이터에 대해서 적용하였으며 이 결과치를 주관적 음질평가 방법인 MU와 상관성을 비교 조사하였다. 실험 결과, BSD와 MBSD, 그리고 PSQM 척도의 상관성이 각각 0.80, 0.85, 0.84로 나타났으며 CD, MSD 보다 성능이 상대적으로 더 우수함을 보였다.

  • The transmission issues for the scalable video coding extension of H.264/AVC (H.264 SVC) video has been widely studied. In this paper, we propose an objective video-quality assessment metric based on no-reference for H.264 SVC using scalability information. The proposed metric estimate the perceptual video-quality reflecting error conditions with the consideration of the motion vectors, error propagation patterns with the hierarchical prediction structure, quantization parameters, and number of frame which damaged by packet loss. The proposed metric reflects the human perceptual quality of video and we evaluate the performance of proposed metric by using correlation relationship between differential mean opinion score (DMOS) as a subjective quality and proposed one.

  • 최근 우리 나라 CDMA 디지털 셀룰라 시스템에서 채택한 EVRC 의 고정 코드북 탐색 과정에서의 계산량 감소 알고리듬을 제안한다. 고정 코드북 탐색 과정에서 펄스 위치에 제한을 두어 기존의 방법보다 가능한 펄스 위치의 조합을 줄인다. 또한 ETIR 방법을 적용하여 고정 코드북 연산량을 개선시킨다. 주/객관적 음질 평가 방법을 수행한 결과, 제안된 방법이 기존의 방법에 비해 음질의 저하가 없음을 확인하였다.

No-reference objective quality assessment of image using blur and blocking metric (블러링과 블록킹 수치를 이용한 영상의 무기준법 객관적 화질 평가)

  • In this paper, we propose a no-reference objective Quality assessment metrics of image. The blockiness and blurring of edge areas which are sensitive to the human visual system are modeled as step functions. Blocking and blur metrics are obtained by estimating local visibility of blockiness and edge width, For the blocking metric, horizontal and vertical blocking lines are first determined by accumulating weighted differences of adjacent pixels and then the local visibility of blockiness at the intersection of blocking lines is obtained from the total difference of amplitudes of the 2-D step function which is modelled as a blocking region. The blurred input image is first re-blurred by a Gaussian blur kernel and an edge mask image is generated. In edge blocks, the local edge width is calculated from four directional projections (horizontal, vertical and two diagonal directions) using local extrema positions. In addition, the kurtosis and SSIM are used to compute the blur metric. The final no-reference objective metric is computed after those values are combined using an appropriate function. Experimental results show that the proposed objective metrics are highly correlated to the subjective data.

  • This study was intended to evaluate the objective landscape of rural region using an additive integration index method in the Seondong region of Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, Korea. This study consisted of the following three steps. First, this study developed an additive integration index calculation model for landscape assessment based on indicators and weight to each space type in accordance with three landscape fields which were developed by the expert Delphi method. Second, this study used NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and permeable area rate, which were available from high resolution satellite image, to calculate the green naturality degree, area rate, and building coverage respectively. Third, this study has calculated the landscape assessment index of rural regions using an additive integration index method made of assessment data and weight for each indicator. This study has found the following results: 1) landscape level was very poor in all 6 types of space, marking grade five; 2) while the highest level of natural landscape and mixed landscape was grade two, that of artificial landscape was grade five; 3) based on objective landscape, grade five showed the highest frequency, and grade one, two, three, and four followed in that order.

Intersubjective Justification and Objective Justification (상호주관적 정당화와 객관적 정당화)

  • A coherence theory is adequate as a theory of justification only when justification as conceived by the theory is truth-conducive. But it is not clear how coherentist justification is truth-conducive. This is the alleged truth-conduciveness problem of coherentism. In my 2017 paper, I argued that a certain version of the coherence theory, namely a Sellarsian coherence theory combined with the deflationary conception of truth, can cope with this problem. Against this claim, Kiyong Suk argues in his recent paper that my proposed solution fails on the grounds that there is no practical way of distinguishing between intersubjective justification and objective justification. The purpose of this paper is to clarify my view by way of explaining why Suk's criticism is not correct. In particular, I argue that his criticism is based on a wrong assumption, namely that for one to be objectively justified in believing something, one's justification must be qualitatively transformed into the status of having objective justification from the status of having intersubjective justification.

Adaptive De-interlacing Algorithm using Method Selection based on Degree of Local Complexity (지역 복잡도 기반 방법 선택을 이용한 적응적 디인터레이싱 알고리듬)

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive de-interlacing algorithm that is based on the degree of local complexity. The conventional intra field de-interlacing algorithms show the different performance according to the ways which find the edge direction. Furthermore, FDD (Fine Directional De-interlacing) algorithm has the better performance than other algorithms but the computational complexity of FDD algorithm is too high. In order to alleviate these problems, the proposed algorithm selects the most efficient de-interacing algorithm among LA (Line Average), MELA (Modified Edge-based Line Average), and LCID (Low-Complexity Interpolation Method for De-interlacing) algorithms which have low complexity and good performance. The proposed algorithm is trained by the DoLC (Degree of Local Complexity) for selection of the algorithms mentioned above. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm not only has the low complexity but also performs better objective and subjective image quality performances compared with the conventional intra-field methods.

  • 디지털방송, DAB 등과 같은 디지털 오디오 방송 서비스를 위한 디지털 시스템을 설계하기 위해서는 오디오 음질을 평가하기 위한 방법이 필수적이다. 기존의 방식은 인간의 귀를 이용한 주관적 방식을 이용함으로서 많은 시간과 비용을 들이게 되며, 음질평가를 하는 사람의 주관적 의견에 많이 좌우하게 된다. 그러나 최근 ITV-R에서는 오디오 음질의 객관적 평가를 위한 BS.1387(PEAQ)를 제안함으로 많은 시간과 비용을 절감하고 신뢰할 수 있는 결과를 얻게 되었다. PEAQ는 인간의 귀에서의 신호의 처리과정과 인식과정을 심리음향모델과 인식모델로 분리하여 구성함으로써 주관적 평가의 SDG(Subjective Difference Grade)에 대응하는 ODG(Objective Difference Grade)를 구하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 PEAQ의 심리음향 모델과 인식 모델을 원리와 과정을 평가 분석하였다.
