This article explores the impact of mergers on the experiences of students. A case design is used to gain an in-depth understanding of the students in a Korean university that was combined with a two-year college in 2007. Semi-structured interviews of 11 direct entrants, 5 transfer students, and 7 professors were conducted in 2010 for the data collection. The results suggest that mergers do not necessarily ensure the integration of the students involved. Since mergers pose enormous challenges to both transfer students and direct entrants, university leaders need to give careful attention to students' persistence and integration as the campus changes. The results also reveal that students' experience of mergers may be affected by cultural backgrounds as well as the hierarchical structure of higher education. In Korean society, where credentialism prevails, mergers can have different impacts on students who come from initial institutions of differing perceived quality, and thus mergers may incite tension among the students. In light of these concerns, this study's findings highlight the importance of student integration as a key element in mergers.

The Purpose of the study was to explore the experience and meaning of employment in the outside hospital of graduates of nursing college with an affiliated hospital. The participants were five senior nursing students, data were collected by three times of Focus group interviews from July, 2017, and analyzed using content analysis. Five Themes and thirteen sub-themes were identified. Implications of the employment experience were 'selection criteria for various employment hospitals according to personal value and experience', 'recognition and reward for hard work', 'influence of hospital name value', 'opportunity to develop own potential', and 'fear coming from employment in non-affiliated hospital'. The results of this study are significant in that it provides basic information that can be taken into account in the employment guidance of nursing college students and the turnover rate of new nurses.

This study is an explorer study to investigate the experience of long term care hospital workers on the sexual behaviors of the elderly. The data were collected from August to October in 2019. The depth interview was implemented with using the semi structured questionnaires. The interview data collected from the participants were analyzed with using qualitative thematic analysis methods. The experience of long term care hospital workers regarding the elderly's sexual behaviors consisted of ten sub-categorized themes from the significant statements and was categorized into following four themes; 'Negative feelings related with elderlys' sexual behaviors', 'Difficulty of maintaining caring roles', 'Recognizing the absence of care for elderlys' sexual behavior', 'Accepting the therapeutic roles for elderlys' sexual behavior'. The findings could be the basic data for developing educational programs that help the long term care hospital workers understand the sexual behavior of the elderly.

This study was analyzed using Giorgi (1985)'s phenomenological research method to find the essential meaning of the strengths inherent in the experience of national players. The research participants selected the final six athletes who wanted to participate in the national team's individual and team events using the Purposeful sampling method. In-depth interviews were conducted from September to December 2019, and 90 to 180 minutes were conducted once and two in-depth interviews were conducted for each athletes. As a result, categories were derived from 17 sub-factors, 5 factors, and 5 factors were found to make good habits, make my own weapons, think positively, simplify and maintain good condition. The five factors shown in the results are used as strengths when they are voluntarily done, and these strengths create a chance and vitality for players to truly like their sport. These character strengths are expected to be used as positive information for players' development of positive psychology programs and psychological skills training.

The aim of this study was to understand and describe the awareness of the emotional labor of nursing college students in a graduation year. The participants were eleven students in nursing colleges. The data were collected from September 5, 2016 to November 25 through in-depth interviews until it was saturated. All interviews were recorded and transcribed as they were spoken. Colaizzi's phenomenological method was used for data analysis. In this study, twenty-one themes, ten theme clusters and five categories were generated. The five categories consisted of 'Confused by irrational circumstances,' 'Skepticism on nursing occupation,' 'Empathy for the nurse's difficult situation,' 'Learning nurses' words and behavior', and 'Preparing for the future.' These results will contribute to the qualitative improvement of nursing practice education by providing the grounds for an effective educational strategy development that manages the emotional labor of Nursing students from clinical practice. In-depth studies on the experience of nursing students' emotional labor and studies on various factors affecting the awareness of emotional labor in nursing students and problems will be required.

The purpose of this study was to explore process of life experience for mothers of children with severe disabilities. Strauss and Corbin's Grounded theory approach was used. Total 17 mothers who have experience of caring for severely disabled child participated. In-depth interviews was done from January 2010 to May 2011. Three to seven interviews were done for each participant. As a result of this study, 119 concepts, 41 subordinate categories and 20 categories have been revealed. The experience of caring children with severe disabilities were 'desolate life' 'plunging in darkness' 'managing to pull oneself' 'rising again' and 'rediscovering of life'. The core category of selective coding was rediscovering of new life from life in darkness. It is suggested that welfare policies need to be modified and new policies need to established for mothers who care for severely disabled children.

The aim of this study was to understand and describe experience of nurses who working in general hospital located in Gyeongsangnam-do and leading the clinical nursing practice education for nursing students. A qualitative descriptive method was employed. the data was collected through in-depth interviews until the data sufficiently reached saturation and analyzed through thematic analysis method. Three themes, eight categories, and twenty five sub-categories were identified. Three themes which emerged from data analysis included 'Growing up with students', 'Teaching students without a compass', and 'Balancing in a variety of roles'. The results of this study provide valuable understanding and knowledge of nurses' experiences in clinical nursing practice education of nursing students, which leads to improvement of the quality of clinical education for nursing students.

This study was carried out for the purpose of selecting and structuring educational content for personal information protection education in supplementary education for childcare workers. Prior research and literature data were collected and analyzed to select educational content, and a preliminary survey was conducted for 125 applicants for education. Based on the surveyed data, the educational content was structured through focus group interview. In the focus group interview analysis, the person in charge of personal information of the institution and those who have completed education participated. Group interviews and individual interviews through e-mail, etc. were conducted, and the final contents were selected after reviewing the appropriateness of the derived opinions by two educational experts. It was found that the direction of the search for personal information protection education contents should be added to the contents of practical work in each stage of information management and practice such as document writing.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the meaning and essence of nursing students' experience of handwashing education volunteer program. There were 10 students who participated in the handwashing education service, and data collection was conducted for two months from October to November 2021, and three focus groups were formed and interviewed. Data were analyzed by Colaizz's phenomenological research method. As a result of the study, 3 themes and 10 sub-themes were derived. The three themes were 'personal development', 'self-esteem as a pre-nursing nurse', and 'knowing the meaning of service'. Nursing students learned the meaning of service through handwashing education service, and it was found that they could experience their own inner maturity. Nursing students could see that it was a time to learn the true meaning of service through handwashing education volunteering. The results of this study provided an understanding of the educational service of nursing college students, which can be applied to the diversification of educational service programs.

Purpose: This study was to develop the Preventive Self-Management Knowledge related to Premature Labor (PSMK-PL) scale for women of childbearing age. Methods: Preliminary items were developed based on the literature and interview results of those who experienced premature labor. The online survey was conducted and the data of 250 women were analyzed using the DIMTEST and DETECT programs by applying the item response theory. Internal consistency reliability was analyzed with Cronbach's alpha (95% CI). Results: Among the 30 preliminary items, six items were deleted. The difficulty and discrimination of the 24 final three-dimensional scales were all acceptable, respectively. Cronbach's alpha (95% CI) was .89 (.87~.91). Conclusion: The PSMK-PL scale generally consisted of items with validity, and the reliability was acceptable.
