  • As individual users have to provide more information than the minimum for using information communication service, the invasion of privacy of Individual users is increasing. That is why client/server based personal information security platform technologies are being developed such as P3P, EPAL and XACML. By the way enterprises and organizations using primarily role based access control can not use these technologies. because those technologies apply access control policies to individual subjects. In this paper, we suggest an expression language for privacy enhancing role-based access control policy. Suggested privacy enhancing role-based access control policy language model is a variation of XACML which uses matching method and condition, and separately contains elements of role, purpose, and obligation. We suggest policy language model for permission assignment in this paper, shows not only privacy policy scenario with policy document instance, but also request context and response context for helping understanding.

  • This study analyzes the regulatory issues of stakeholders, the firm, the government, and the individual, in the data industry using the principal-agent theory. While the importance of data driven economy is increasing rapidly, policy regulations and restrictions to use data impede the growth of data industry. We applied descriptive case analysis methodology using principal-agent theory. From our analysis, we found several meaningful results. First, key policy actors in data industry are data firms and the government among stakeholders. Second, two major concerns are that firms frequently invade personal privacy and the global companies obtain monopolistic power in data industry. This paper finally suggests policy and strategy in response to regulatory issues. The government should activate the domestic agent system for the supervision of global companies and increase data protection. Companies need to address discriminatory regulatory environments and expand legal data usage standards. Finally, individuals must embody an active behavior of consent.

  • The increasing integration of intelligent information technologies within organizational systems has amplified the risk to personal information security. This escalation, in turn, has fueled growing apprehension about an organization's capabilities in safeguarding user data. While Internet users adopt a multifaceted approach in assessing a company's information security, existing research on the multiple dimensions of information security is decidedly sparse. Moreover, there is a conspicuous gap in investigations exploring whether users' evaluations of organizational information security differ across industry types. With an aim to bridge these gaps, our study strives to identify which information security attributes users perceive as most critical and to delve deeper into potential variations in these attributes across different industry sectors. To this end, we conducted a structured survey involving 498 users and utilized the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to determine the relative significance of various information security attributes. Our results indicate that users place the greatest importance on the technological dimension of information security, followed closely by transparency. In the technological arena, banks and domestic portal providers earned high ratings, while for transparency, banks and governmental agencies stood out. Contrarily, social media providers received the lowest evaluations in both domains. By introducing a multidimensional model of information security attributes and highlighting the relative importance of each in the realm of information security research, this study provides a significant theoretical contribution. Moreover, the practical implications are noteworthy: our findings serve as a foundational resource for Internet service companies to discern the security attributes that demand their attention, thereby facilitating an enhancement of their information security measures.

  • Smart grid enables efficient power management by allowing real-time awareness of electricity flows through two-way communication. Despite its various advantages, threats to user privacy caused by frequent meter reading hinder prosperous deployment of smart grid. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving aggregation method exploiting fully homomorphic encryption (FHE). Specifically, it achieves privacy-preserving fine-grained aggregation of electricity usage for smart grid customers in multiple electrical source environments, while further enhancing efficiency through SIMD-style operations simultaneously. Analysis of our scheme demonstrates the suitability in next-generation smart grid environment where the customers select and use a variety of power sources and systematic metering and control are enabled.
