Effect of an Opening on Buckling Strength of Polygonal Section Wind Turbine Tower (다각형 단면 풍력타워 좌굴강도에 대한 개구부의 영향)

  • 풍력타워 기둥구조물에는 유지관리 등의 이유로 출입구 역할을 하는 개구부가 존재하게 된다. 다각형 타워구조물에 개구부형상이 존재하게 되면 압축좌굴 강도에 영향이 있을 것으로 예상되지만, 이를 정량적으로 평가하거나 예측하기는 용이하지 않고 간접적으로 판단할 만한 관련 기준이나 지침도 부족한 상태이다. 이에 최병호 등(2011)에서 다룬 다각형 단면 기둥구조물의 하단에 개구부를 형상화한 수치해석 모델을 수립하고 축방향 압축하중을 재하하는 탄성좌굴 해석 및 비선형비탄성해석을 수행하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존 다각형 단면 기둥모델 중에서 6각형 단면모델에 관해 중점적으로 다루고 있다. 다각형 단면 기둥 해석모델은 단순한 다각형 단면 타워구조에 대해서 뿐 만 아니라, 각 subpanel에 종방향 보강재를 둔 모델에 대해서도 추가적으로 검토하였다. 개구부의 형상은 높이 2000mm, 폭 800mm이며 상하부에 만곡부를 둔 형태이다. 수치해석은 3차원 유한요소해석프로그램인 ABAQUS를 이용하여 수행하였으며, 보강방안으로는 일정범위까지의 모듈 subpanel의 판두께를 보강하는 방안과 edge stiffener를 적용하는 방안에 대해서 검토하였다. 각각의 보강방식에 따른 효과를 비교해 보기 위해 개구부가 없는 모델, 단순히 개구부만 설정한 모델, 판두께를 보강한 모델, edge stiffener로 보강한 모델에 대해 비교해석을 수행하였다. 보강재 없는 단순 다각형 타워구조 모델에 대한 해석결과로부터 개구부로 인한 강도저하는 미미한 수준인 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 종방향 보강재가 적용된 6각형 단면 타워구조 모델에서는 개구부로 인한 강도저감이 22.9%로 높게 나타났으며 상당한 영향이 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 개구부 주변의 판두께 보강이나 edge stiffener보강 등으로 상당한 강도향상 효과가 확인되었으나, 개구부로 인해 손실된 강도 수준을 완전히 회복하는 수준에 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 향후 다양한 보강방식에 대한 보다 포괄적인 변수연구를 통해 개구부의 영향 없이 온전한 다각형 단면 타워 구조의 극한강도에 도달되기 위한 보강 조건에 대해 검토될 필요가 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Estimation of optical losses in dielectric apertured terahertz vertical cavity lasers (개구 크기에 따른 테라헤르츠 표면 발광 반도체 레이저의 광손실에 대한 연구)

  • Dielectric apertures in vertical cavity laser have been used for improved device performance. Numerical analysis is used to estimate the optical losses as the aperture diameter is reduced. The optical losses depend on the aperture size, thickness and location. The optical loss strongly depend on the aperture size and thickness when the aperture size is similar or smaller than the emitted wavelength. The optical loss is negligible and not depend on the aperture thickness when the aperture size is larger than 5 times emitted wavelength.

  • 광도의 기본 단위인 칸델라(Candela) 눈금은 물론 복사조도(irradiance), 조명도(illuminance)와 같은 유도 단위를 실현하기 위해서는 검출기의 시야를 한정하는 개구면적의 정밀한 측정이 필요하다. 여기에서는 가장자리의 광학적 검출방법에 의한 개구면적의 산출방식을 소개하고, 가우시안광에 의한 면적 측정법의 측정값과도 비교하여 그 결과를 보여준다. 기존의 개구 면적 측정방식으로 한가지 방법은 탐촉자를 물리적으로 접촉시켜서 개구의 가장자리를 결정하고, 개구의 기하학적 모양을 원으로 가정하여 면적을 산출하는 방식이 있는데, 이 방법을 사용하면 기계적인 접촉에 의하여 칼날과 같았던 개구의 가장자리가 손상을 입게 되기 때문에 측정이 잘못되는 것은 물론이고, 이렇게 측정된 개구를 사용하게되면 손상된 부위에 의한 면적의 변화와 이로 인한 산란이 증가하게 된다.   • The bandwidth enhancement of an aperture coupled microstrip patch antenna(ACMPA) with a high permittivity feed substrate suitable for the integration with MMIC is investigated using variation of an aperture width. As an aperture width increases, the 10 dB return loss bandwidth increases due to the increase of the mutual resonance region between a patch resonance and an aperture resonance. The bandwidth of an ACMPA with extended aperture width is increased up to 35.3 % from 20.8 % of the ACMPA with an aperture of a typical aspect ratio 10:1. The degradation of the radiation characteristics of an ACMPA due to the increase of an aperture width is very small.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of the openings on the structural behavior of SC walls. The test parameters were with or without the reinforcing of openings and sleeve thickness. The common failure showed that the crack in the concrete progressed with the plate's local buckling between the shear connectors. The failure of the openings showed that the vertical wall of the sleeve buckled toward the opening inside. The plate buckling load showed a similar value with or without the sleeve of the opening, respectively. However, the maximum compressive strength of the specimen without the opening was higher than that of specimen with the opening.

  • The shear wall with openings built with reinforced concrete (RC) have been elaborately studied by many researchers, whereas the steel plate concrete (SC) wall structure has not been investigated as much. The recent SC wall structures developed in Korea have been partly applied to nuclear power plant structures, although its design specification or guideline for the SC wall structure with openings has not been completed yet. This study based on numerical analysis evaluates the effects of opening on the structural resistance of the SC structure in nuclear power plant. As a result from nonlinear analysis, since the strengthening for openings significantly affect the overall strength of SC wall, the openings should be considered to strengthen them around adjacent area. It is also proved that the strengthened openings have the sufficient resistance and ductility regardless their size, shape, location, and quantity.

SKELETAL RELAPSE AFTER ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY OF CLASS III SKELETAL OPEN-BITE (개구교합을 가진 3급 부정교합환자의 악교정수술후 재발에 관한 연구)

  • This study was intended to evaluate a post-operative relapse tendency in mandibular prognathism patients with open-bite. 18 patients with or without open-bite have undergone sagittal split ramus osteotomy and were investigated radiologically with cephalogram. The results were as following 1. The preoperative anterior facial height, mandibular plane angle and mandibular gonial angle were larger in open-bite patients than in nonopen-bite patients.(p>0.05) 2. There was significant correlation between surgical change of SNA, mandibular plane length and long-term relapse.(p<0.01). 3. There was relatively stable postoperative anterior facial height in open bite patients. 4. There was no significant correlation between the surgical change of mandibular plane angle, amount of mandibular setback and long-term relapse.(p>0.01) 5. This study showed that horizontal relapse was more significant than vertical relapse.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of loading variables on fatigue crack opening behavior, using structural steel SS41. To use various stress ratios, three kinds of the methods varying stress ratio were used; .DELTA.P const., P$_{max}$ const., and P$_{min}$ const.. To measure the opening load, the direct measuring method which measures the distance between two micro indentations 20 .mu.m behind crack tip and the elastic compliance method were used. As the results of present study, the following conclusions are obtained. First, using the direct measuring method, it was possible to measure the COD at any location behind crack tip. Second, as measuring point becomes farther from crack tip, opening load becomes smaller. Third, the acceleration of da/dN near notch is due to crack opening behavior. Finally, opening ratio is a function of not only R, but .DELTA.K.K.K.

  • Transmission cross section(TCS) is described analytically as $2G{\lambda}^2/4{\pi}$ irrespective of the aperture shapes for various transmission resonant apertures, such as small ridged circular or H-shaped, U-shaped, or Jerusalem cross-shaped apertures in an infinite thin conducting plane. The proposed expression is validated by comparison with the numerical results obtained from the method of moments(MOM). The TCS characteristics of the transmission resonant cavity structure in a thick conducting plane are also studied and the equivalence between the two small aperture structures is reported from the viewpoint of transmission efficiency.

Dynamic Interaction of Track and Train System on Open Gap by Rail Breaks (레일 파단시 장대레일 개구부에서의 궤도-차량 동적상호작용)

  • CWR (Continuous Welded Rail) may be broken when a temperature drop below the neutral temperature changes in axial force, causing tensile fracture and rail gap, in winter. Rail-breaks may lead to the damage of the rail and wheel by dynamic load, and the reduction of running safety if not detected before the passage of a train. In this study, the track and train coupled model with open gap for dynamic interaction analysis, is proposed. Linear track and train systems is coupled by the nonlinear Herzian contact spring and the complete system matrices of total track-train system is constructed. And the interaction phenomenon considering open gap, was defined by assigning the irregularity functions between the two sides of a gap. Time history analysis, which have an iteration scheme such as $Newmark-{\beta}$ method based on Modified Newton-Raphson methods, was performed to solve the nonlinear equation. Finally, numerical studies are performed to assess the effect of various parameters of system, apply to various speeds, open gap size and the support stiffness of rail.
