  • The vegetation structure and soil characteristics in Koelreuteria paniculata communities of Taean-Gun and Anmyondo were studied. The Koelreuteria paniculata community in Anmyondo had two vegetation layers, lower-tree and herb layers, but the Koelreuteria paniculata community in Anmyondo had three vegetation layers, subtree, shrub, and herb layers. Also the Koelreuteria paniculata was only the species of subtree layers in the Koelreuteria paniculata community of Anmyondo, but the subtree layer in the Koelreuteria paniculata community of Taean-Gun consisted of Pinus thunbergii, Cornus walteri, Celtis jessoensis, Celtis sinensis, and Evodia danielii. The soil organic matter, total N, available P, CEC, and exchangeable K, Ca, Mg, and Na concentrations were greater in the two Koelreuteria paniculata community than in the adjacent forest. The range of soil pH in the two Koelreuteria paniculata communities were 6.3-7.0, but those in adjacent forests were 4.7-5.5. [Dierssen scale, Vegetation classification, Forest soil] .

  • Habitat types, community structure and population characteristics of Koelreuteria paniculata were investigated in Mt. Wolak, Chungbuk and Naesokdong, Daegu, which are natural habitats of the species in inland region of Korea, and its origin was discussed. Habitats of Koelreuteria paniculata were classified to 3 types: sand bar formed by the sands flooded in the course of flow of the mountain stream (Type 1). crevice on the rock bed within the mountain stream (Type 2) and crevice of the rock around the edge of mountain stream (Type 3). Most Koelreuteria paniculata communities in Mt. Wolak site were composed of 3 layers of subtree layer, shrub layer and herb layer and that of Daegu site was 4 layers including tree layer. In the floristic composition of the Koelreuteria paniculata community, plants occurring frequently in the wet and open site, such as Zelkova serrata and Fraxinus rhynchoph-vlla showed high frequency. Frequency distribution of diameter at ground surface of Koelreutrria paniculata showed reversed J-shaped type. It was supposed that expansion of Koelreuteria paniculata community in Mt. Wolak site might be accomplished by the flow of the stream. Many saplings capable of becoming a successor of mature trees in Daegu site in near degenerating phase were established on the forest floor of the Koelreuteria paniculata community. From this result, it was supposed that these saplings originated from the seeds dispersed from a seed tree might form the Koelreuteria paniculata community of the next generation. On the other hand, the origin of Koelreutevia paniculata in inland sites was explained by two hypotheses: the one was that Koelreuteria paniculata might be transplanted by human and the other was that the present site might be native habitat of the community.

  • This study analyzed vegetation structure of natural monuments Koelreuteria paniculata community in search of a conservation and management plan. Plant sociological analysis of Koelreuteria paniculata community indicates that it can be classified into Achyranthes japonica subcommunity and Rhodotypos scandens subcommunity and Trachelospermum asiaticum var. intermedium subcommunity. While Koelreuteria paniculata community of Ahnmyeondo is composed of sub tree layer and herb layer, those of Pohang and Wando are composed of tree layer, Sub tree layer, shrub layer, herb layer. The results of tree vitality analysis showed that those in Ahnmyeondo appeared to be relatively low when compared to those in Pohang and Wando-gun. This can be understood in two different aspects: disease and insects vulnerability due to a relatively simple structure and lack of competitive species, and decreased vitality / natural branch losses due to crown competition arising from high density. The result of soil characteristics analysis showed that soil texture, soil pH, organic matter, $p_2O_5$, exchange positive ion were sufficient for tree growth while total nitrogen was not, so that discretion would be needed for fertilizer application. As there were damages of disease and inscet, but only for 10~15% of the entire area; it still requires consistent preconsideration. The study suggests the management methods for preservation of Koelreuteria paniculata community. First, securing designated areas is necessary in order to minimize environment deterioration due to surrounding development. Especially, for sections with decreased areas, expansion of designated areas through land purchase should also be considered. Second, artificial interference may affect the livestock. Therefore, monitoring of artificial interference is necessary, based on which protection projects must be conducted. Third, from analysis of young plants which influence the maintenance mechanisms of Koelreuteria paniculata community, a decrease compared to the prior year was observed; investigation is needed. Therefore, an active management policy through status examination of livestock such as germination and young plants is necessary.

  • In this study, the characteristics of the lactic fermentation of gamju manufactured using a medicinal herb decoction were assessed. A bacterial strain, LAB19, which is used for the induction of lactic fermentation into gamju, was isolated from dried persimmon and identified as Leuconostoc mesenteroides on the basis of morphological, physiological, and chemotaxonomical features, and 16S rRNA sequencing analysis. After 60 hours of lactic fermentation with Leuconostoc mesenteroides LAB19 at $25^{\circ}C$, the gamju was determined to contain 141.3 g/L of reducing sugar, 5.33 g/L of acids, and 1.19 g/L of soluble phenolics. Approximately 90% of reducing sugar and 58% of acids were maltose and lactic acid, respectively. Free radical scavenging activities were retained at levels between 76.6 to 75.7% during the lactic fermentation of gamju.

  • We analyzed community forming patterns and forest vegetation of goldenrain tree communities in Anmyeondo, Daegu Naegokdong, Pohang Youkangri, Yanghakri, Balsanri, Daedongbaeri, Mophori and Seochonri. The vegetation data for analysis collected from 68 quadrats of 8 sites Using the Braun-Blanquet method, from April 2002 to September 2003. A total of 201 species were found and the area was covered with $30\~100\%$ of tree layer, $0\~90\%$ of shrub layer and $20\~100\%$ of herb layer. Oplismenus undulatifolius, Pueraria thunbergiana, Quercus dentata, Clematis apiifolia, Ligustrum obtusifolium, Rosa multiflora, Artemisia princeps var. orientalis, Humulus japonicus and Robinia pseudo -acacia were the species in high frequency. To analyze the community classification and ordination, we used the technique of TWINSPAN and DECORANA. The surveyed areas with 68 quadrats were divided into 3 groups by TWINSPAN and divided into 3 communities with axis 1 date volume by DECORANA.

  • To understand the floristic composition, vegetation structure, and population dynamics of Koelreuteria paniculata communities, which are native to Daegu, South Korea, a field survey was conducted in July 2018 using phytosociological and complete enumeration methods. Based on information on vegetation and trees of >5 cm diameter at breast height collected during the field survey, we classified the community types by species composition and analyzed their vegetation strata, relative importance value (MIV), life forms, species diversity, and population structure. The community was divided into the following three types: Ulmus parvifolia-Vitex negundo var. incisa subcommunity, Securinega suffruticosa subcommunity, and Clematis apiifolia community. The vegetation unit system was organized into one community group, two communities, and two subcommunities. Vegetation coverage of the tree layer was >85%, while the herbaceous layer was <10%. MIV of K. paniculata appeared to be extremely high within all vegetation strata, with 94.3 of the tree layer, 81.6 of the subtree layer, 75.5 of the shrub layer, and 60.0 of the herbaceous layer. The species diversity (H') was significantly different among the community types, and the C. apiifolia community (2.062) was approximately four times higher than the S. suffruticosa subcommunity (0.547). The overall representative life form types were "$MM-R_5-D_4{\cdot}D_2-e$,", but there were some differences in the disseminule form among the community types. The population structure of K. paniculata showed the reverse J-shaped distribution with a high density of young individuals and low density of larger individuals among all three community types, and because no plant species within the lower vegetation could replace K. paniculata, it was considered to be a sustainable population.

  • In the study, a control strategy using a feedback linearization compensator and a disturbance observer was suggested and applied to the synchronization control of two hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic system consists of a proportional directional control valve with overlap characteristic near the neutral position, a conventional hydraulic cylinder and an external load. The control performances of the system were verified through numerical simulations. From the simulations, it was ascertained that excellent control performances were obtained with the suggested control strategy.

The result is expected to efficient for a basic data to research history of the Koryo(高麗) architectures. This study was focused on the architecture of the Yuan dynasty in Hancheng city, because the buildings of the Yuan Dynasty were remained in Hancheng city(韓城) of Shanxi province(陝西) in the largest numbers through all China territory. And the study was especially analyzed in the angle of the system of wooden structures among various architectural points. It was looked into, in large, views of form of whole structure and, in detail, joining method of detail parts. As a result of the study, the characteristics of architectures of the Yuan Dynasty in Hancheng city were summarized as follow a reduction of the unit size, a shifting of columns, a removal of columns and a simplicity of ornaments. These are different with architecture of other empire periods. Also, these are the characteristics of the Korean tradition at architectures. This study of the Yuan's architectures of Hancheng is expected to be the basis of the advanced study about the relationship between Koryo(高麗) architectures and Yuan(元) architectures.
