This study examined the correlation of educational experience with practical behavior in infection control. Subjects were 152 dental hygienists in Gwangju from September 15 to October 5, 2015. The ratio of dental hygienists educated on infection control was higher in those worked in dental care with 2~4 dentist for 2~5 years and lower in those worked in dental cared with 1 dentist for 2~5 years (p<0.05, p<0.001). The dental hygienists with or without educational experience in infection control exhibited the highest activity rate in hand wash and the lowest in face protection. Barrier in health belief, was lower with the need for education in infection control among the factors affecting on the activity in infection control. The activity was higher with susceptibility and cue to action (p<0.05). Based on the results, education program on infection control should be developed, and applied periodically and obligatorily for dentist and all staffs of dental care to remove susceptibility and barrier, and to enhance cue to action. This will result the effective control of infection by elevating the health belief.
In this study, the effects of infection control health beliefs and critical thinking tendencies of nursing students on infection control standards were investigated. This study collected and analyzed the data of 222 nursing students from the College of Nursing located in City A from June 2021 to July 2021. Data were collected according to IRB-approved contents, and the collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 Statistics Program. The infection control health beliefs and critical thinking tendencies of nursing students affect the performance of standard infection control precautions(F=16.634, p<.001), and the explanatory power of the model was 22.0%. It is necessary to develop a nursing education program to improve health beliefs and critical thinking disposition and systematic and efficient infection control education to improve the performance of standard precautions for infection control of nursing students.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of infection control knowledge and standard precaution practice and to identify effecting factors on standard precaution practice among nurses in small and midium-sized hospitals. A cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 258 nurses from 7 hospitals between July and August 2021. The mean score of infection control knowledge and standard precaution practice was 7.25 and 3.61, respectively. There were significant differences in standard precaution practice according to clinical experience (r=.123, p=.047) and position (F=5.356, p=.005). Infection control knowledge and standard precaution practice were closely correlated (r=.421, p<.001). Position (β=-.187, p=.025) and infection control knowledge (β=.408, p<.001) had an effect on standard precaution practice. It could be possible to enhance the standard precaution practice through convergence education program related to infection control among staff nurses.
This study was carried out to provide basic data for the development of an educational program by assessing the its effects on the MDROs infection management performances of nurses at general hospitals. Data was obtained through a structured questionnaire survey conducted on 202 nurses. The average of knowledge score was 17.68 and their perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, and performances had correlation. There was difference in their performances in accordance with their general characteristics including marriage, clinical experiences, positions, and affiliated department. Factors that affected MDROs infection management performance included perceived benefits and affiliated department with an explanation power of 35%. Therefore, it is necessary to emphasize the benefits by including advantages and effects of performing the MDROs infection control at the time of the development. In addition, nurses are required to have MDROs infection control education.

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing on practice of infection control among clinical nurses. Data were collected from 142 nurses in hospitals in D city from December 10 to December 15, 2016. It was confirmed that the perceived barrier of health beliefs and the infection control awareness influenced the infection control performance of the subjects(F=43.61, p<.001). The explaining power of these two factors on infection control performance was 38.0%. In order to improve the nurse's infection control performance, it is necessary to continue education to recognize that infection control activities are important. However, it is necessary to consider institutional complement to prevent nurse's infection control practice from being recognized as work burden or suffering.
This study surveyed the medical staffs in Busan with regard to their awareness and to their performances of infection control in health care facilities. As a result of the survey, the level of awareness and performances showed a high scale regardless of the relation to infection control department, infection control guidelines, and infection control education in the health care facilities. Especially, the group educated on the infection control had shown a statistically significant result of 0.001 in the awareness and performances. The main reasons to failure on infection control practice resulted with a heavy workload and a lack of time. Moreover, it is concluded that the self-consciousness on the infection control have increased in reason that the 99.7% responded a need to infection control education. In general, level of the performance analyzed lower than the level of awareness and it seems that reforming such policy feasible is needed and being active in performing infection control individually is necessary in order to decrease the nosocomial infection.

The current study was conducted to understand the status of infection management through a survey on the status of awareness and performance of infection management and to improve efficient infection management and education programs of workers in long-term care institutions. The subjects of the study were 134 workers at 35 long-term care institutions in the C region, and data were collected from July 12 to 30, 2021. They agree to participate in research self reported structured questionnaire by SPSS program ver. 22.0. As a result of the study, the subject's awareness of infection management appeared to be a difference in accordance with occupation (F=3.181, p=.032) and education experience (F=6.372, p=.013). Also, factors influencing the subject's performance of infection management were occupation (F=3.972, p=.010) and education experience (F=4.403, p=.038). The relationship between awareness of infection management and performance resilience fined out a significantly positive correlation (r=.919, p<.001). As a result, for patient safety in long-term care institutions in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, it is very important for workers not only to recognize the importance of infection management but also to directly perform infection management activities. To this end, regardless of the size of the institution, it is necessary to prepare a systematic and continuous curriculum by occupation and educational topic, and to legally strengthen the evaluation system to improve the quality of the infection management system.
