The convergence effects of nursing professionalism and Self-leadership on long-term nursing intentions of graduated nursing students (졸업학년 간호대학생의 간호전문직관, 셀프리더십이 간호직 장기근무 의도에 미치는 융합적 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was attempted to determine the effect of nursing professionalism and self-leadership on long-term work intentions for graduated nursing students. The subjects of this study were 217 graduated nursing students located in W city, and a structured questionnaire was used for the data collection period from November 29 to December 3, 2021. For data analysis, frequency, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe, Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple regression using SAS 9.4 program. As a result of the study, the biggest influence factors on the long-term work intention of graduated nursing students were nursing professionalism and major satisfaction, followed by career planning, and explanatory power was 34.3%. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop and operate various programs in the field of nursing education in order to improve the long-term intention of nursing students in graduation year. However, this study is meaningful in that it provided basic data to improve the long-term work intentions of nursing students in graduation year after identifying the level of long-term work intentions and checking factors affecting them.

Effects of Self-esteem, Nursing Professionalism, Cognitive Emotion Control Strategy on Clinical Practice Stress in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 자아존중감, 간호전문직관, 인지적 정서조절 전략이 임상실습스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to identify the factors related to clinical practice stress in nursing college students. The participants comprised 160 students in a nursing college. Data collection was conducted from December 1, 2019 to December 15, 2019. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and a multiple regression analysis. The average score for clinical practice stress was 3.19 out of a maximum of 5. clinical practice stress had a statistically significant relationship with self-esteem(r=.22, p=.005), nursing professionalism(r=-.26, p=.001) and cognitive emotion control strategy(r=.38, p<.001). The factors affecting clinical practice stress were maladaptive cognitive emotion control strategy(β=.46, p<.001), nursing professionalism(β=-.20, <.001), grade(β=.20, p=.002), motivation for nursing choice(β=-.15, p=.019); the explanatory power of the model was 35.5%. Therefore, in order to reduce the stress on clinical practice, it is necessary to develop a program that can lower the maladaptive cognitive emotion control strategy along with improving the nursing professionalism in stress situations.

The influencing factors of Ego-Resilience and Empowerment on Nursing Professionalism among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 자아탄력성, 임파워먼트가 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper reports a descriptive correlation to explore the relationship among nursing professionalism, ego-resilience, and empowerment in nursing students. A convenience sample of 195 subjects were recruited from four colleges. Subsequently, a survey was conducted from March 1st to 31th 2016. The data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program, using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The mean value of the study was as follows: nursing professionalism, $3.84{\pm}.47$; ego-resilience, $3.51{\pm}.58$; and empowerment, $2.79{\pm}.51$. There were significant positive correlations among ego-resilience (r=.455, p<.001), empowerment (r=.325, p<.001), and nursing professionalism. Significant positive correlations between ego-resilience and empowerment were found (r=.696, p<.001). Hence, ego-resilience and empowerment were determined to be factors that influence nursing professionalism. Ego-resilience was more influential for nursing professionalism than empowerment. The regression model explained 23.0% of nursing professionalism. In conclusion, to increase nursing professionalism in nursing students, it is necessary to develop educational programs and strategies that focus on improving ego-resilience and empowerment.

The Effect of Academic Self-efficacy and Clinical Practice Satisfaction of Nursing College Students of Adult Learners on Nursing Professionalism Institution (성인학습자 간호대학생의 학업적 자기효능감과 임상실습만족도가 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research study to confirmed the effects of academic self-efficacy and clinical practice satisfaction on nursing professionalism of adult learner nursing students. Data were collected from October 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023, targeting 120 adult learners and nursing students attending 5 universities located in C province. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed using the SPSS 26.0 program. Results of this study Satisfaction with clinical practice and academic self-efficacy (r=.773, p<.01), Satisfaction with clinical practice and nursing professionalism (r=7.87, p<.01), Academic self-efficacy and nursing professionalism (r=8.34, p<.01), there was a positive correlation with each other. As a result of regression analysis, college life satisfaction, practical peer relationship, major satisfaction, clinical practice satisfaction, and academic self-efficacy were confirmed as factors influencing nursing professionalism (F=57.86, p<.001). The explanatory power was 75.5%. In order to improve the nursing professionalism of adult learner nursing students, an institutional educational strategy will be needed to develop interventions that can increase academic self-efficacy and clinical practice satisfaction.

The influence of calling and self esteem on nursing professionals of nursing students (간호대학생의 소명의식과 자아존중감이 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the study is to understand the impact of nursing college students' awareness and self-esteem on nursing professionals. The research design of this study is a descriptive investigative study using convenient samples. The data collection collected structured questionnaires and Google's online survey methods for first- to fourth-year nursing college students at three universities in North Chungcheong Province. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS window 25.0 program as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation, t-test and one-way ANOVA, and post-test as Scheffétest, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The study found that 21.7% (==-.181, p<.001), 2.8% major satisfaction, and 24.5% (β=.420, p<.001), so it is recommended to use it as basic data to establish a curriculum and teaching learning strategy to improve major satisfaction.

Change in the Nursing Professionalism, Role Conflict and Job Satisfaction of the Nursing Students before and after their first Clinical Experience (첫 임상실습이 간호대학생의 전문직관, 역할갈등, 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was attempted to provide nurse students with basic materials to improve their clinical practices, and to investigate changes in their views on Nursing Professionalism, Job satisfaction, and role conflicts. After experiencing clinical practices, their nursing professionalism(t=-2.184, p=.031) and job satisfaction (t=-2.068, p>.001) increased but role conflict (t=-3.729, p>.001) increased as well. They were satisfied with their jobs, building up nursing professionalism through clinical practices. However, they had also acquired time on thinking about their future jobs more deeply than before practices and realizing their roles in real sense. In particular, they felt stress in some of subcategories, personal inner conflicts (t=-3.729, p>.001), role obscurity (t=-5.720, p>.001) so it is necessary to review standards on their job and task in nurse education and clinical practices.

Influence of Self-leadership, Nursing Professionalism, Job involvement on Turnover Intention of Nurses in Long Term Care Hospitals (요양병원 간호사의 셀프리더십, 간호전문직관, 직무몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate self-leadership, nursing professionalism, job involvement and turnover intention and to identify factors influencing turnover intention of geriatric nurses working in long term care hospitals. The data of it were collected from the 135 questionnaires of its subjects, the nurses working in long term care hospitals in D province. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 21.0. The results revealed that the nurses working in long-term care hospitals had medium level of turnover intention. There were significant correlation between self-leadership, nursing professionalism, job involvement and turnover intention. Factors affecting turnover were age, marital status, nursing professionalism. Nursing professionalism was the most influential factor with an explanatory power of 30.6%. Based on the result, to reduce turnover intention of long term care hospital nurses, it is necessary to enhance their nursing professionalism through development of educational program and organizational support, establishment of systematic strategy and creation of suitable environment for enhancement of job involvement, and intervention for the work force management considering the variables related to turnover intention of nurses working in long-term care hospitals are required in order to reduce turnover intention of theses nurses.

The Influence of Gender Role Conflicts, Professional Nursing Values and Career Preparation Behaviors of Male Nursing Students (남자 간호대학생의 성역할 갈등, 간호전문직관이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of gender role conflicts, professional nursing value on career preparation behaviors of male nursing university student. Data were collected from 127 male nursing university student in grade 2-4 by using structured questionnaires from July 1 to November 30, 2018. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression by using SPSS Win 24.0 program. Multiple regression analysis showed that the predictors of career preparation behaviors were professional nursing values(${\beta}=0.28$, p=.001), satisfaction with major (${\beta}=0.23$, p=.006), club(${\beta}=.19$, p=.020) and the regression equation explained 20.8% of career preparation behaviors. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to provide career educational programs considering according to the academic year of male nursing students and to develop educational programs to improve the nursing professionalism of male nursing students.

Factors Influenceing resilience of Nursing college Students in the COVID-19 Pandemic (코로나19 팬데믹에서 간호대학생의 회복탄력성에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate of resilience on nursing students in COVID-19 pandemic situation. Data were collected from 320 nursing students in B city and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 22.0. The degree of resilience in nursing students was 3.78±0.61. There were significant differences in college life adaptation with department (F=9.932, p<.001), number of friend (F=5.681, p<.001), close professor (t=3.739, p<.001), There was positive correlation between resilience and grit (r=.469, p<.001), nursing professionalism (r=.614, p<.001), nurses' image (r=.552, p<.001). The factors affecting resilience of the study subjects were grit (β=.321, p<.001), nursing professionalism (β=.385, p<.001), nurses' image (β=.165, p=.022), with an explanatory power of 47.3%. Through the results of this study, it was confirmed that it is necessary to improve grit, nursing professionalism, and nurses' image in order to improve the resilience of nursing students in the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Influence of Clinical Learning Environment, Clinical Practice Powerlessness, Field Practice Adaptation, and Nursing Professionalism on Caring Efficacy in Convergence Era (융합 시대의 임상실습 교육환경, 임상실습관련 무력감, 현장실습적응, 간호전문직관이 돌봄효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was attemted to grasp the factors affecting the caring efficacy of senior nursing students. Data were collected from 173 nursing students at J university in G-do. Analysis was done using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Multiple regression with IBM SPSS WIN/25.0. Caring efficacy was positively correlated with clinical learning environment (r=.42, p<.001), field practice adaptation (r=.53, p<.001), nursing professionalism (r=.42, p<.001), and negatively correlated to clinical practice powerlessness (r=-.46, p<.001). The most influential factor on the subjects' caring efficacy was field practice adaptation (β=.330, p<.001), followed by nursing professionalism (β=.188, p=.005), clinical learning environment (β=.176, p=.015), introvert (β=-.146, p=.018), and extrovert (β=.134, p=.035). The explanatory power was 41.8%. Therefore, systematic nursing programs that can enhance caring efficacy are needed. Also, the following data can be utilized as basic data to help develop caring efficacy programs.
