  • The aim of this study is to provide basic data that can contribute to improving successful clinical adaptation and reducing turnover of new graduate nurses by analyzing research related to reality shock experienced by new graduate nurses using text network analysis. The topics of reality shock experienced by new graduate nurses were extracted from 115 papers published in domestic and foreign journals from January 2002 to December 2021. Articles were retrieved from 6 databases (Korean DB: DBpia, KISS, RISS /International DB: Web of science, Springer, Scopus). Keywords were extracted from the abstract and organized using semantic morphemes. Network analysis and topic modeling for subject knowledge structure analysis were performed using NetMiner 4.5.0 program. The core keywords included 'new graduate nurses', 'reality shock', 'transition', 'student nurse', 'experience', 'practice', 'work environment', 'role', 'care' and 'education'. In recent articles on reality shock experienced by new graduate nurses, three major topics were extracted by LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) techniques: 'turnover', 'work environment', 'experience of transition'. Based on this research, the necessity of interventional research that can effectively reduce the reality shock experienced by new graduate nurses and successfully help clinical adaptation is suggested.

  • This study aimed to identify workplace learning, job satisfaction and geriatric nursing practice, find the correlations between each variable, and investigate affecting factors on geriatric nursing practice. Subjects were 146 nurses in 9 long-term care hospitals including G City, and data were collected from May 1, 2016 through Jun. 30, 2016. Data analysis included independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression using the SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. The results showed that the correlations between each variable showed that incidental learning, a subregion of workplace learning (r=.20, p=.014), and job satisfaction (r=.29, p<.001) had a positive correlation with geriatric nursing practice, respectively. The affecting factors on geriatric nursing practice were job satisfaction, daytime working and nursing experience, and the explanatory power of the model was 20%(F=4.91, p<.001). Based on the results, job satisfaction should be increased to improve the quality of nursing in long-term care hospitals and various methods might be discussed to improve the job satisfaction. Daytime working was suggested one factor on geriatric nursing practice because nursing was provided mainly during daytime, and nursing experience was also one factor on geriatric nursing practice, so highly experienced geriatric nurses could provide high quality elderly patient care.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between clinical practice stress, practice satisfaction, and nursing image of nursing students with experience of Gerontological nursing practice and to identify factors affecting nursing image. Data were collected from 150 nursing students from September 1 to 23, 2016 and analyzed using SPSS / Win 23.0. Results showed, practise stress was 3.13, satisfaction, 3.14 and nursing image, 3.32. Correlation analysis revealed that there was negative correlation between practice stress and practicec satisfaction, practice stress and nursing image, and a positive correlation between nursing image and practice satisfaction. Meanwhile, the factor affecting nursing image was practice satisfaction (${\beta}=.602$) and the explanatory power was 40%. Therefore, effective nursing education and practical strategies are needed to improve the nursing image and practice satisfaction of Gerontological nursing practice of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the mediating effect of self-leadership in the process of understanding the effects of nursing job performance and job satisfaction in the nursing work environment perceived by nurses. In this study, nurses who worked for more than one year at three general hospitals located in Province A. Total of 225 data were used for the final analysis. Date analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression analysis. Self-leadership was found to play a partial mediating role in the relationship between nursing work environment and nursing job performance(z=4.30, p<.001) and between nursing work environment and job satisfaction(z=3.70, p<.001). Therefore, in order to improve nursing job performance and job satisfaction, it will be necessary to establish a management plan that can improve the nursing work environment and improve self-leadership.

  • This study was collected from June 8, 2023 to June 23, 2023 from 230 nursing students at a university to identify the factors affecting nursing students' adaptation to college. Data was analyzed by frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 24.0 Program. As a result of the study, whether the adaptation to college according to general characteristics has been heard about new technologies(t=2.830, p=.018) showed a statistically significant difference. Nursing students' adaptation to college showed a strong positive correlation with grit and negative correlation with self-control. It was found that nursing students' grit affects the adaptation to college(F=117.48, p<.001), and the explanatory power was 33.7%. It is necessary to develop and apply irregular programs to enhance grit for students' adaptation to college, and repetitive research is needed in consideration of the relationship between technostress and self-control.

  • This study aims to identify the domestic research trends on nursing leadership and provide basic data that can be used for nursing leadership-related research and intervention development in Korea. To extract topics related to nursing leadership from 335 papers published in domestic academic journals from January 2012 to December 2021, the topic modeling technique was used. Keywords were extracted from abstracts, and literature searches were conducted in five domestic databases including DBpia, KISS, RISS, KM base, and Nanet. The study found that academic papers on nursing leadership have been steadily increasing, with self-leadership, self-efficacy, and education being identified as major topics. In addition, since self-leadership was the most frequently appearing keyword among the types of leadership, the study concluded that research on various forms of leadership should be more actively conducted. These research results are expected to contribute to enhancing understanding of nursing leadership in Korea. This study provides a new perspective on understanding the research trends on nursing leadership in Korea and analyzed the knowledge structure of domestic nursing leadership research, which is meaningful.

  • This study was undertaken to analyze the intervening effect of nursing simulation among nursing students. This was a critical review study, and data obtained were reviewed using various data bases, including RISS, KISS, NDSL, DBpia, and KRI. The terminologies entered in the data base were nursing and simulation. Selected studies were assessed for methodological quality; and narrative, descriptive or one group post-test studies were excluded from the analysis. Ed. Notes: Please review for accuracy. I have suggested the edit to the best of my understanding. Finally, 234 studies were included for investigation. Results included studies of nursing simulation intervention in Korea, commencing from 2008. One group pre-post test and two group post test were more designed in journals comparing to master thesis or doctoral dissertation. Clinical practice was the most frequently studied aspect by both the assessor and student in the two groups' pre-post test design. Nursing competences associated with dependent variables during simulation were integrated skills, critical thinking, communication, cooperation, professional recognition and leadership. The two groups pre-post design explored more varied competences as compared to other designs. Considering the results obtained, we conclude that simulation intervention is an effective teaching method for nursing students to help improve their clinical practice. However, further studies are required to assess the impact of critical thinking and problem solving.
