This study was to examine the effects of simulation used additionally in clinical practicum and evaluate its applicability in an undergraduate nursing curriculum. A longitudinal survey was used to measure the changes on the scores of clinical competency, clinical confidence, critical thinking and problem solving ability of students(N=77) who had experienced simulation in the clinical practicum curricula throughout their junior and senior years. Variables were measured 4 times, at the beginning and the end of each year, and data were analyzed using repeated measures of ANOVAs. Clinical competency score in senior year improved significantly(t=-13.75, p<.001) whereas no significant changes in junior year. Clinical confidence and critical thinking disposition over 2 years showed significant increases(F=177.86, p<.001; F=247.79, p<.001, respectively). Problem solving ability increased throughout the junior and senior years, however, it did not make a significant difference at any point of measures.

This study was designed to clarify the learning motivations, academic self-efficacy, and problem-solving processes in the educational evaluative method in the fundamental nursing practice using moving pictures. The learning motivations and academic self-efficacy showed statistical differences based on the students' motivations of selecting, their satisfaction with the major and nursing practice, helpfulness of moving pictures, and the suitability of practical tests using a checklist. Problem-solving processes revealed statistical differences based on the students' motivations of selecting the nursing department, their satisfaction with the major and fundamental nursing their satisfaction with the major and nursing practice, the helpfulness of moving pictures, and the suitability of practical tests using a checklist. The learning motivations showed significant positive interrelations with the academic self-efficacy and problem-solving processes. In conclusion, the educational evaluative method in the fundamental nursing practice using moving pictures was related to the nursing students' learning motivations, academic self-efficacy, and problem-solving processes.

The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a to identify the effects of problem solving process and communication for nursing students. The subjects consisted of one group of 71 fourth year nursing students of D Colleage To test the application effect, a one group pre-post test design was applied. This study showed significantly higher problem solving process(t=-12.6, p<.001), and communication(t=-9.91, p<.001). Learning satisfaction was positively affected. Simulation program is one of the effective teaching and learning methods. It is recommended to develpo a scenario for simulation education applied various cases which are undergoing clinical testing, so as to apply it to the nursing training education.

This study was performed to examine that convergence-based integrated simulation practice program curriculum effects the clinical decision making, problem solving competence, clinical competence and confidence of core fundamental nursing skill performance for nursing students. After the convergence-based integrated simulation practice program, there were significant increased in problem solving process(t=-3.052, p<.01), clinical competence(t=-4.279, p=.000), and confidence of core fundamental nursing skill performance(t=-2.416, p<.05). The finding of this study verified that the integrated simulation practice program curriculum can be used for improvements of problem solving competence, clinical competence and confidence of core fundamental nursing skill performance for nursing students. It is necessary to develop a scientific analytical evaluation tool and program, and it would be necessary to have a system for scientifically analyzing the integration of simulation practical courses by nursing college students by grade level and subjects.
