Objective : This study was designed to investigate the effects of herbal medicine on jaundice caused by hepatic resection. Methods : This study was carried out on one patient with jaundice ensued by hepatic resection. The patient was admitted on October 25th, and treated until November 13th, 2004, using acupuncture and herbal medicine(Hepacure-I and Ex.Sosiho-tang.) Result : After 18 days, clinical symptoms had improved. Results of total bilirubin, ALP, GGT tests and urinalysis also showed improvement. Conclusions : These result support a role for this combination of acupunture and herbal medicine in treatment of chronic liver disease.

한국공정경쟁협회는 지난 ''97년 7월 16일 공정거래위원회로부터 $\lceil$개방체제하에서의 경쟁정책방향에 대한 연구$\rfloor$용역을 의뢰받아 본 협회의 김웅재 연구위원과 중앙대학교 법대학장 서헌제 교수, LG경제연구소 부연구위원 우영수 박사와 공동으로 용역연구팀을 구성하고 5개월간의 연구 끝에 지난 ''97년 12월 15일 최종보고서를 공정거래위원회에 제출하였다. 동 연구결과에 대해 지난 ''97년 12월 26일 공정거래위원회 간부직원들과의 모임에서 보고를 하였으며 이에 대한 토론의 시간도 가졌다. 특히, 이번 연구용역 과정에서는 업계의 공정거래법 전문가들과 공정거래제도에 관한 연구회를 구성$\cdot$운영함으로써 보다 효율적인 연구결과를 가져올 수 있도록 하였다. 특히 본 연구에서는 외국과의 역차별 문제도 다루었는데, 마침 IMF 경제체제에서는 이러한 역차별 문제를 점검할 필요가 있어 본 연구는 시대적 상황에 부응할 수도 있게 되었다.

제주 외항의 2단계 항만시설 사업으로 동방파제, 동방파호안, 접안시설, 친수호안, 접속호안 등 2,374m 구간에 대해 방파제 내파 안정성과 반사파 저감을 위한 단면계획을 통해 설계에 반영하였으며 지반 침하 및 지진피해 최소화를 위한 구조물의 사용 및 내구성을 중대시켰으며, 특히 크루저 선박의 본격취항을 대비한 친수공간개념의 도입에 많은 노력을 기울였다. 대상 사업지는 지형적 특성상 복잡한 형태의 고파랑이 작용하므로 방파제의 설계파를 7.3m로 상향조정하였고, 방파제 제간부에 발생하는 충격쇄파압에 대한 안정을 확보하기 위해 소파블록 피복케이슨제를 적용하였다. 제주도가 가지는 국제적 위상에 맞추어 국제미항개발, 레저형 웰빙공간조성 및 제주항이 가지는 자연적 특성을 반영하여 친수 방파제와 호안 및 배후시설의 친환경적인 배려를 최대화 하였다. 해양 생태계 보호를 위하여 해조류 서식지 및 해중림 조성 등 생태복원계획도 수립하였다.

Full-thickness rotator cuff tears are relatively uncommon in the young adults. One of the pathogenesis of such tear is thought to be closely related to the specific trauma event. Favorable outcome is expected in young patient rotator cuff tears when it is diagnosed early following prompt surgical repair. However, early detection is sometimes difficult when the acute rotator cuff tear is combined with other injuries especially around the shoulder joints such as ipsilateral humerus fractures. Authors report an uncommon case of acute traumatic rotator cuff tear accompanied by the midhumerus shaft fracture in young adult.

순무(Bracica campestris subsp. rapa Hook, fiet. Anders)의 원산지는 유럽서남부 해안지방인 반온대 지역으로 알려져 있으며 우리나라에서는 삼국시대부터 재배되었다. 조선중엽에 김치 재료로 많이 재배되었다는 기록이 있으나 지금은 주로 강화군 지역에서 재배되어 강화순무로 불릴 정도로 강화군 특산품이 되었다. 순무의 종류로는 서구계, 중간계, 재래계가 있으나 강화순무는 재래계통에 속하고 자색이 진한 것과 연한 것으로 구분된다. (중략)

The purpose of this paper was to find out obese women's respective characteristics of torso body shape. The subjects were 132 obese women for direct measurement and were 101 obese women for indirect measurement, age of 20~59. The criterial of obesity base on Rohrer index($\geq$1.6) and busts girth ($\leq$90). The results were as follows : 1) In comparison with the average body shapes in common body types, in 30's was bigger in the bust and waist girth than the different age groups. 2) According to the difference in the basic girth(bust and waist girth, hip and bust girth, hip and waist girth) the body types were classified 2 groups. Types 1 was large bust and slightly curved from waist to hip. Type 2 was large hip and larger in the curve from waist to hip than type 1.

정상교합인 179명과 , 악관절이상환자 12명, 그리고 악관절이상환자중 국소마취를 한 6명, 총 197예의 대상에 교근의 Jaw-Jerk Reflex를 야기시키기 위하여 Spring Triggered Tapping Device를 하악골유간부에 장치하고, 교근에 쌍극은판전극을 부착하여 Functional Switch Assembly 를 통하여 Preamplifier(461 B형, Beckman)에서 증폭된 활동전압을 Dynograph (RS형 9853A, Beckman)에서 직접 기록하였다. 기록된 근전도는 Computer (Univac 9400 Cobol Complier)로 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻어 이에 보고하는 바이다. (1) 정상교합인 ; 남자 평균 21msec, 여자 20msec, 남여평군 20±5.99msec (S.D.)였다. (2) 악관절이상환자 : 남자평균 39msec, 여자38msec, 남여평균 39±13.57msec (S.D.) (3) 국소마취를 시행한 악관절이상환자 ; 남자평균 21msec, 여자 18msec, 남여평균 19msec (4) 179명의 정상교합인중 34명은 Masseteric Slient period가 나타나지 않았다. (5) 정상교합인과 악관절이상환자가 중복될 수 있는 기간은 31~33.5msec 였다. (6) 정상교합인과 악관절이상환자와의 경계는 32.2msec 였다.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effects of oriental medical treatment on delayed healing in femoral shaft fractured child. Methods: We treated the patient with herb medicine named Kamiboatang and Pyritum. Child took Kamiboatang and Pyritum for 2 months, and Kamiboatang for 1 month. After 3 months treatments, we examined the case with radiological findings. Results: The patient's delayed femoral shaft fracture was improved after 3 months oriental medical treatment. Conclusions: This case showed that oriental medical treatment on delayed healing in femoral shaft fractured child was effective. To prove the effectiveness of Kamiboatang and Pyritum, the more clinical study of Oriental medical treatment for this case might be also needed.

한국과학기술정보센터(KORSTIC)와 전경련의 공동주최로 강등차랑 일본과학기술정보센터(JICST) 이사장 초청 강연회가 9월 7일 3.1 빌딩 32층에서 개최되었다. 「일본산업계의 기술정보 이용」이라는 주제로 강연에서 강리사장은 「연구개발력이 약한 기업은 미래가 없으며 불황이라도 닥치는 날이면 도산하는 예도 있다」고 말하면서 「그러므로 산업발전을 위해서는 기술개발이 절대로 필요하며 그 전제로서 비용이 적게드는 과학기술정보를 잘 활용할 것」을 기업간부들에게 권하였다. 현재 세계에는 연간 400만건의 과학기술정보가 홍수처럼 쏟아지고 있으므로 이를 자국의 필요에 맞게 제품화하는 것이 정보센터의 큰 임무인 동시에 제품화된 정보가 수요자의 필요에 맞게 그리고 수요자가 쉽게 구할 수 있도록 서어비스를 다양화하는 것도 중요하다고 강조하면서 일본에서는 500억대 단말기로 전국적으로 Network를 확대할 계획이라고 말하였다. 다음은 이날 강리사장이 행한 강연전문이다.

We propose a cooperative transmission scheme that uses Hurwitz-Radon space-time code for the relays which help the source to transmit signals to the destination, the full utilization here is that the destination utilizes the broadcast symbols from the source. We present the 2 transmit antennas case in detail because of its simplicity and high data rate. Analysis and simulations show that the proposed scheme achieves full diversity order of 3. The maximum likelihood receiver is also derived and the combining scheme is shown to be very simple.
