Study on Forecasting Urban Rail Demand Reflecting Transfer Fare Value in a Non-integrated Fare System (독립.환승할인요금체계하의 환승요금가치를 고려한 도시철도 수요추정 연구)

  • The recent increase of light rail construction by the private sector in Korea has caused a new issue in forecasting rail demand. Integrated fare systems between several rail operators is convenient and brings cost savings to users, and therefore is also very effective in increasing demand. However, it causes some short-term revenue loss to operators so that the private sector often suggests a non-integrated fare system. The current rail demand forecasting model is based upon an integrated fare system. Thus this model cannot be used to forecast the demand with a non-integrated fare system. Some value of transfer fare should be estimated and applied to forecast the demand in a non-integrated fare system. This study conducted a stated preference (SP) survey on urban railway passengers and estimated the value of transfer fare. The estimated value is 2,609 Won/hr, which is about 52% of in-vehicle time. This shows railway users have a tendency to pay more for transfer fares to save time or distance. This value has some limitations since it is derived from the SP survey. If some non-integrated fare system is applied in the future and a RP survey is conducted and compared with these study results, a more clear value of the transfer fare will be derived.

미국의 기업가치에 대한 부채와 기업 소유구조의 영향에 관한 소고

  • 기존의 논문들은 단순히 기업가치(firm value)가 부채(debt)에 의한 요인들(determinants)에 의하여 좌우된다고 보았으며, 기업의 소유구조(managerial ownership)와 기업가치는 별개(exogenous)로 간주하여 왔다. 이 번 논문에서는 기업 가치를 좌우하는 요인들에 부채 이외에 기업의 소유구조를 내생변수(joint endogenous)로 추정하고, 통계방법으로는 수단변수를 사용하여 GMM(generalized method of moments)를 통하여 추정하기로 한다. 이 연구를 통해서는 부채와 기업 소유구조 사이에 밀접한 상호작용(interrelated)이 있음을 발견하였다. 부채와 기업의 소유구조를 내생화시킴으로써 이번 연구에서는 부채가 기업가치에 약한 부정적인(-) 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으나, 기업의 소유구조는 기업 가치에 강한 긍정적 요인으로 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같이 부채와 기업가치의 약한 부정적인 관계에 대한 선행연구로는 Shea(1997)과 Hahn and Hausman(1999)이 있다. 또한, 기업가치는 시장점유율(market power)과 주가(treasury stock)와 양(+)의 관계에 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Fuzzy Hedonic Analysis of Airport Noise (공항 소음에 대한 퍼지 헤도닉 분석)

  • When measuring the value of environmental attributes of housing, the conventional Hedonic Pricing Method assumes market equilibrium. Thus each attribute is believed to be implicitly valued based on the market price. The revealed preference is the basic logic in this approach. However, if the participants in the housing market are not perfectly informed or feel vagueness regarding the attributes of the housing, the conventional Hedonic Pricing Approach could not provide relevant value of the attribute in question. A Fuzzy Regression Method is suggested to handle with the lack of information or preference uncertainty problem m the Hedonic Pricing Approach. In this paper, our main concern IS given to the fuzziness effect on the airport noise in the metropolitan areas of South Korea.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate economic value of document delivery services(DDS) at foreign journal supporting center in K University library. For this study, Bass diffusion model, which is widely used in forecasting, especially new product and new service forecasting, was adopted. User survey was also carried out from September 10 to 20, 2007. As a result, useful value(UV) of DDS is estimated about not less than 2,000,000,000 won, and willingness to pay(WTP) is estimated about less than 2,000,000,000 won. This study, economic value analysis at foreign journal supporting center, was limited to DDS, and used methodology for the study is also limited to UV and WTP. Demographic analysis(i.e., sex, age, occupation, educational level) for UV and WTP is also conducted.

  • Since 2002, many domestic companies have been certified for ISMS. On the other hand, certification, such as the need for ost-effectiveness evaluation, is not specifically enforced. Therefore, for more than 10 years, the ISMS implementation and certification system has been used for performance and cost effective business management. In this study, a model for analyzing the effect of certification organizations, ISMS development, and an analysis of the effect of a standardized system for the study was prepared. To this end, the existing maintenance organizations ISMS certification survey was conducted through an analysis of the economic effects. ISMS certification continues to expand or maintain the policy for improvement. The survey data collected by the analysis mechanism for the economic effects of CVM was analyzed.

The Effect of Heterogeneous Preference on Non-market Valuation (가계의 이질적 선호가 비시장재 가치의 추정에 미치는 영향)

  • Non-market valuation studies tend to assume that individual households have homogeneous preferences for a non-market good to value. However, since the preferences for non-market goods, especially environmental goods are more likely to be heterogeneous by nature, it may be more appropriate to assume heterogeneous preferences for non-market goods, which may in turn may lead to reduced biases in the WTP estimation. This study investigate the extent to which individual households have heterogeneous preferences for reduced concentrations of radon, a radioactive indoor air pollutant, for road safety, and for nuclear power safety. We also analyze the effect of heterogeneity assumption on the results of model and WTP estimation. Using the choice experiments and mixed logit models, we found that allowing for heterogeneous preferences improved model fitness and that there existed heterogeneous preferences for both reduced radon concentration and road safety, albeit not for nuclear power safety. The mean WTP for reduced radon concentrations and road safety increased by factors of 2.44 and l.74 respectively with the models allowing for heterogeneous preferences.

Measuring the Economic Value of a Self Archiving and Journal Repository System for Open Access (오픈액세스를 위한 리포지터리 시스템에 대한 수요 분석과 경제적 가치 측정)

  • This study purposed to measure the economic value of repository services of the National Open Access Platform (AccessON), namely Self Archiving and Journal Repository. The value of Self Archiving was measured by applying time-saving value and the value of Journal Repositories by applying market analogy. Based on existing statistics, in-depth interviews with service beneficiaries and stakeholders, and a survey administered to 1,313 researchers, the value of Self Archiving was estimated to be 145 million won and an additional 12 million won with the OA legalization. The value of Journal Repositories was estimated to be 31.2 billion won. The total value of the repository services was 31.35 billion won over the 8-year business period. This result presented an estimated economic value of a national OA repository from the key beneficiaries' perspectives.

  • The value of time in freight transportation describes the importance of goods during transport and shows the direction of efficient logistic management having inventory cost in transporting The value of time differs from class to class in freight transportation. It is due to the differences of shipper's willingness to Pay for time saving. In this research the value of time in intercity freight transportation of manufacturers in Korea was estimated as follows: first, the Perception factors which were the important criteria of shippers for choosing truck were sampled. second, the shippers were classified into three homogeneous classes. third, the value of time of each class was estimated by using multinominal logit model. The results of this research showed that the value of time in freight transportation was different from every class, that the shipper had to Pay 1,680 won for saving one hour Per each shipment, and that the inventory cost in transporting occupied 9.54% in the mean freight Price.

  • For the growth of the marine leisure industry, it is necessary to estimate economic value to review appropriate profitability in advance for the opening of new routes for marine leisure ships. This study aims to analyze the willingness to pay for new marine leisure ships for users of Gyeonggi sea and estimate the economic value. To this end, the amount of willingness to pay was estimated using the conditional value measurement method, and significant factors affecting the payment of usage fees were analyzed. As a result of the study, the average willingness to pay was estimated at KRW 25,510, and it was found that the factors such as "island visit experience" and "satisfaction with means of transportation" had a significant effect on the willingness to pay.
