Mechanical properties and consolidation of none-structured $TaSi_2-SiC$ composite by high frequency induction heated combustion synthesis (고주파유도가열 연소합성법에 의한 치밀한 나노구조의 $TaSi_2-SiC$ 복합체 제조 및 기계적 성질)

  • 고주파유도가열 연소합성법으로 60MPa의 기계적 압력과 고주파유도가열 장치의 총용량 (15KW)의 90%의 출력을 가해 75초의 짧은 시간에 97%이상의 상대밀도를 갖는 $TaSi_2-SiC$ 복합체를 제조하였으며, 제조된 시편의 미세조직 사진으로부터 선형분석법으로 측정한 $TaSi_2-SiC$ 의 평균 결정립크기는 각각 250nm 과 60nm 이었다. 또한 제조된 시편을 연마하여 비커스 경도계를 이용하여 기계적 특성평가를 한 결과 경도 와 파괴인성은 각각 $1366Kg/mm^2$$305MPam^{1/2}$ 이었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 밀폐형 2상 열사이폰의 액체 Pool에서 발생하는 핵비등현상과 유동영역에 대해 가시화 방법으로 연구하였다. 실험용 열사이폰은 스텐레스와 유리관을 이용하여 제작하였으며, 열공급은 증발부 주위에 설치된 유도 가열용 코일에 고주파를 가함으로써 스텐레스 외면에 발열이 일어나도록 하였다. 이에 따른 결과는 다음과 같다. 실험용 열사이폰은 고주파 가열등 열사이폰의 작동성능을 저해하는 여러 요인들이 포함되어 있었으나, 실험결과 이러한 문제는 실험 내용에 영향을 미칠만큼 크게 나타나지 않았다. 열속과 상당압력의 범위는 각각2$m^2$, 0.1

  • A scramjet engine intake model was tested with a storage air heater type hypersonic wind tunnel. In test results, there is no large performance change with the variation of the sidewall configurations. In the isolator performance analysis, pressure distribution of oblique shock train and normal shock train was observed. Unstart limit of the model was also confirmed.

  • In this project, the efficiency of localized heating for micro systems packaging is developed by using a forced potential scheme microheater. Less than 0.2 Mpa contact pressure was used for bonding with a 200 mA current input for $50{\mu}m$ width, $2{\mu}m$ height and $8mm{\times}8mm$, $5mm{\times}5mm$, $3mm{\times}3mm$ sized phosphorus-doped poly-silicon microheater. The temperature can be raised at the bonding region to $800^{\circ}C$, and it was enough to achieve a strong and reliable bonding in 3 minutes. The IR camera test results show improved uniformity in heat distribution compared with conventional microheaters. For performing the gross leak check, IPA (Isopropanol Alcohol) was used. Since IPA has better wetability than water, it can easily penetrate small openings, and is more suitable for conducting a gross leak check. The pass ratio of bonded dies was 67%, for conventional localized heating, and 85% for our newly developed FP scheme. The bonding strength was more than 25Mpa for FP scheme packaging, which shows that FP scheme can be a good candidate for micro-scale hermetic packaging.

  • This paper reports an experimental study of direct containment heating (DCH) which would occur if the primary system pressure is still high at the time of vessel breach during a light water reactor core melt accident. The experiments were conducted in 1/30-scale cavity models of Kori unit 1 and 2 and Young Kwang unit 3 and 4 nuclear power plants. One 1/20-scale model of the Kori plant was also used to investigate the scaling effect. The primary variables in the experiments were initial vessel pressure, vessel breach size and cavity geometry. It is observed that higher initial pressure and larger breach size enhance the melt dispersal fraction. Also, the cavity geometry appears to affect the dispersal rate greatly. A simple correlation of melt dispersal fraction is proposed in terms of nondimensional effective period. This correlation shows good agreement with the present experimental data, the KAIST data and the BNL data.

Denaturation of Heat Treated Lysozyme under High Pressure Conditions (고압조건에서 가열 처리된 Iysozyme의 변성)

  • In order to elucidate texturization mechanism of extrudated protein, egg white lysozyme was heated under high pressure conditions, and its solubility and changes of molecular weight were investigated. Under high pressure conditions of $100,\;300\;and\;600\;kg/cm^2$, solubility decreased gradually with increasing temperature in the samples heated at $70,\;120\;and\;150^{\circ}C$ and decreased notably with increasing pressure at $200^{\circ}C$. Polymerization was found in the samples heated at $150\;and\;200^{\circ}C$ while a band which located below monomer(low-molecular) could be recognized. Molecular weight of the low-molecular was estimated to be about $6,000{\sim}9,000$ and no smaller peptide was recognized. The polymerization may have occured by disulfide crosslinking in the samples heated at $120^{\circ}C$ but other crosslinking may have played a role in those at $150\;and\;200^{\circ}C$.

  • Producing extremely stable high temperature and pressure condition is crucial in order to synthesize novel materials with various functions and to investigate their static and dynamic properties. Already a high pressure in the Mbar range, which is necessary to make novel materials, can be acquired by using a Diamond Anvil Cell (DAC), In this study, a laser-heating system combined with the DAC was designed and installed using two 1064-nm, 100-W fiber lasers on different sides of the DAC to heat the sample and three spectrometers to measure the temperature, pressure, and Raman spectra. A stainless-steel gasket, which is generally used as a sample chamber in high-pressure experiments, was heated to make a thermal radiation source, and the temperature of the heated gasket was obtained by measuring the spectrum of the radiation. By applying this technique, we were able to make various materials and to investigate their physical properties under extreme conditions.

Fabrication of WC-8wt.%Co Hard Materials by Rapid Sintering Processes and Their Mechanical Properties (급속소결공정에 의한 WC-8wt.%Co 초경재료 제조와 기계적 성질평가)

  • 새로운 급속소결방법인 고주파유도가열 소결법과 펄스전류활성 소결법을 이용하여 습식 볼밀링으로 혼합한 WC-8wt.%Co분말에 60MPa의 압력과 90%의 고주파출력 또는 2800A의 필스전류를 가하여 상대밀도가 98.6% 이상인 초경재료를 2분이내의 짧은 시간에 제조하였다. 초기의 WC분말의 입도가 미세해짐에 따라 고주파유도가열 소결법과 펄스전류활성 소결법 모두 소결시간이 단축되는 경향을 보였으며 그 소결체의 결정립 크기도 감소하였다. 고주파유도가열 소결법으로 제조된 초경합금의 WC 결정립 크기는 초기입도가 증가함에 따라 가각 410, 540, 600, 700 및 850nm으로 측정되었으며. 그 결과를 Fig. 1.에 나타내었다. WC의 초기입도가 $0.5{\mu}m$일 경우 고주파유도가열 소결법과 펄스전류활성 소결법으로 제조된 WC-8wt.%Co 소결체의 경도와 파괴인성은 각각 $1923kg/mm^2$$10.5MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$$1947kg/mm^2$$10.8MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ 이었다.
