A Study of Development and Effects of Visual Novel Game for Promoting User's Donation Intention (사용자의 기부 의도 증진을 위한 비주얼 노벨 게임 개발 및 효과 검증)

  • In this study, we developed a visual novel game as one of the donation campaign strategies. In study 1, we developed a visual novel game for the elderly who live alone. In study 2, we also examine how game affects personal distress and empathic concern, the emotions that trigger help behavior. The results showed that game can promote both emotions effectively. Moreover, empathic concern completely mediated between game and donation intention. This result suggests that visual novel games can be an effective tool for stimulating user's altruistic motivation to do donation behavior.

Mesozooplankton Community Structure in the Yellow Sea in Summer (여름철 황해의 중형동물플랑크톤 군집 구조)

  • We investigated mesozooplankton community in the Yellow Sea in summer immediately after the typhoon passed. Total mesozooplankton density ranged from 1,323 to 6,397 ind. m-3 and the biomass ranged from 3 to 28 mg C m-3 by stations. The dominant species of the research area were Paracalanus parvus s.l., Oithona atlantica, Acartia omorii, Oikopleuridae, Sagittoidae juvenile and Calanus sinicus in that order. Mesozooplankton community was divided into two groups by cluster analysis : the stations located in coastal and open seas as one group, and the stations located in the middle into another group. The number of species, density and richness of mesozooplankton were significantly lower in the middle region. Mesozooplankton density and biomass were not significantly correlated with chl-a concentrations, unlike previous studies in spring and autumn. This community characteristic in summer may be due to the passing of the typhoon, or other environmental influences.

  • In this research, a sample was selected from a public library in Paju city, which operates a regional collaborative library system. They collected data on materials, usage, and acquisition. An analysis of book collection data and usage data was also conducted in order to evaluate the correlation between the usage and acquisition by comparing overlap of purchased materials. As a result, circulations and the interlibrary loan (ILL) borrowing requests were differentiated by topics according to targeted materials, and that these characteristics affect the overlap of purchased materials. The study suggested that public libraries in the region collaborative library system need to consider the paradigm of collection and access when purchasing books.

Mesozooplankton Community Structure in the Yellow Sea in Spring (봄철 황해의 중형동물플랑크톤 군집 구조)

  • We investigated mesozooplankton in the Yellow Sea in spring to understand its community structure and relationship with environmental factors. Total mesozooplankton density ranged from 1,542 to 7,367 ind. m-3 and the biomass ranged from 3 to 42 mg C m-3. The total density and biomass had a positive relationship with chlorophyll-a (chl-a) concentration. The mesozooplankton community was divided into two groups at 125.5 E by cluster analysis: one was an inshore group and the other was an offshore group. The inshore group of mesozooplankton was of high density but low diversity, while the offshore group was of high diversity but low density. Copepod Acartia hongi and its copepodites were the most abundant species, comprising 27.8% of the total mesozooplankton density. A. hongi was especially abundant at the inshore, serving as the indicator species of the inshore group. Redundancy analysis found a positive relationship between the density of A. hongi and chl-a concentration. Oithona similis and Centropages abdominalis were 2nd and 3rd dominant species comprising 9 and 7% of the total density, respectively. The density of O. similis was positively related to water depth, but C. abdominalis was related to chl-a concentration. Chl-a concentration seems to influence significantly the mesozooplankton community structure in the Yellow Sea in spring, rather than water temperature or salinity.

Length-Weight Relationship of the Copepod Calanus sinicus off Busan in Spring (봄철 부산 연안의 요각류 Calanus sinicus의 길이-무게 관계식)

  • We derived a length-weight relationship for Calanus sinicus off Busan, Korea in spring to estimate the biomass of the C. sinicus population around Korean waters, and compared it with the previously derived equations. The developmental stages and prosome length of C. sinicus used in the relationship ranged from 1,376-1,540 ㎛ for copepodite 4 (CIV), 1,753-1,971 ㎛ for copepodite 5 (CV), and 2,160-2,283 ㎛ for adults (CVI). Dry weight and carbon content were measured from a total of 26 replicates. Length-weight relationships derived in the present study are as follows: log C = 3.342 log PL - 9.449, log DW = 3.394 log PL -9.219, where C is carbon content (㎍), DW is dry weight (㎍), and PL is prosome length (㎛). When comparing the present regression equation of length-weight for C. sinicus with the previous one, our regression equation showed an average carbon estimate to a given range of mean prosome length. The length-weight relationship of C. sinicus in the present study can be used to better estimate the biomass of the C. sinicus population in the coastal waters of Korea.

  • As environmental pollution becomes more serious, the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles is rapidly increasing worldwide. Accordingly, the amount of waste batteries is also increasing, and a technology for recycling and reusing them is required. In order to reuse a used battery, it is necessary to non-destructively diagnose the deterioration condition of the battery. Therefore, in this study, we investigate the diagnosis of degradation for parallel-connected lithium-ion battery cells through non-constructive electrochemical approach. As the number of parallel-connected cells increased, in addition to linear degradation, abrupt step-like degradation occurred, which is attributed to the predominant degradation of specific cells. In addition, it is confirmed that deteriorated cells among multiple cells can be distinguished through a simple measurement of open circuit voltage (OCV).

  • 인간이 농업 등으로 물을 사용하기 위하여 하천에 인위적으로 구조물을 설치하여야 한다. 이들 구조물은 대부분이 농업용 보로 과거 농업중심의 사회에서 논과 밭 등에 물을 공급하기 위하여 설치하였다. 하지만 농촌의 도시화 및 농지의 변경 등으로 인하여 농업용 보는 사용량이 감소하였으며, 최근 급격한 도시화로 인하여 많은 보들이 용도폐기 되었다. 한국농어촌공사에서는 매년 용도폐기된 구조물을 확인하고 있으며, 이에 대한 리스트를 보유하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국농어촌공사의 용도폐기 된 보 중 한강권역 왕숙천 수계 중심으로 조사를 실시하였다. 폐기보에 대한 위치 확인을 위하여 한국농어촌공사로부터 제공받은 폐기보 현황자료(보명 및 하천명, 주소)를 바탕으로 우리가람길라잡이, 국가어도정보시스템, 웹지도 등을 활용하여 위치 및 존재 여부 파악하였으며, 현장조사를 위하여 위치분석 자료를 바탕으로 현장조사가 용이하도록 별도의 웹자료를 구축하였다. 현장조사는 구조물의 주변의 토지이용현황, 구조물의 존재여부, 구조물의 규모 실측(길이/높이/폭 등), 어도의 유무, 바닥보호공의 유무, 구조물 훼손 정도 등을 파악하였다. 왕숙천 수계의 보는 왕숙천 본류구간에는 4개의 폐기보가 있으며, 용암천은 9개, 사능천은 2개 학림천은 1개로 총 16개의 폐기보가 있는 것을 확인되었다.

Characteristics Analysis of Measurement Variables for Detecting Anomaly Signs of Thermal Runaway in Lithium-Ion Batteries (리튬이온 배터리의 열폭주 이상징후 감지를 위한 측정 변수 특성 분석)

  • To detect anomaly signs of thermal runaway in advance, this study analyzed the signals from various sensors installed in lithium-ion batteries. The thermal runaway mechanism was analyzed, and measurement variables for anomalies of a battery cell were surface temperature, strain, and gas concentration. The changes and characteristics of three variables during the thermal runaway process were analyzed under the abuse environment: the overheat and the overcharge. In experiment, the thermal runaway of the battery proceeded in the initial developing stage, the outgassing stage, and the ignition stage. Analysis from the measured data indicated that the suitable variable to detect all stages of thermal runaway is the surface temperature of the battery, and surface strain is alternative.

Effects of perceptions of the importance of patient safety management and patient safety competency on patient safety management activities among nurses at unaccredited general hospitals (미인증 종합병원간호사의 환자안전관리 중요성 인식, 환자안전역량이 환자안전간호활동에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This descriptive research study attempted to determine how general hospital nurses' awareness of the importance of patient safety management and patient safety competency affected patient safety management activities. Methods: From September 13 to 26, 2022, a survey was administered to 230 ward nurses who provided direct care to patients at five non-accredited general hospitals being evaluated for accreditation located in metropolitan cities. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, the t-test, one-way analysis, the Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and hierarchical regression using SPSS for Windows version 26.0. Results: In total, 221 (96.1%) respondents were female. The average age was 32.2 years, and the average clinical experience was 3.5 years; 196 participants (85.2%) were general nurses. Patient safety competency (β = .44, p < .001), awareness of the importance of safety management (β = .31, p < .001), and medication error experience (β = -.15, p = .002) all had statistically significant associations with patient safety management activities. The explanatory power of these variables for patient safety management activities was 50.7%. Conclusion: This study confirmed that patient safety competency, awareness of the importance of patient safety management, and experience with medication errors significantly influenced patient safety management activities.

Study for the Uncertainty Estimation of Output Power under the Mismatch Condition of Power Amplifiers (전력증폭기 부정합 조건에서의 출력 전력 불확도 산출에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, an accurate method to estimate the measurement uncertainty of a power amplifier was proposed. Because power amplifiers incorporate mismatch at the drain for the optimal performance, the general method is not enough to produce precise measurement uncertainty of the output power. In order to supplement this method, We suggest comprehensive power measurement uncertainty which is utilized by a complex reflection coefficient and measurement uncertainty of S-parameter which contain the mismatch at the drain on the power amplifier. After that, we compared it with real measurement results of the 10 watt power amplifier which operates on 3.7 GHz. As a result, suggested measurement uncertainty could obtain the uncertainty of output power near 10 times accurate in comparison with existing uncertainty calculation method.
